Many thanks to you my friend. I have recently purchased the Behringer X2222usb a couple of months ago, but I have had my eye on it for some time. I have been all over the web trying to get any kind of tutorial info, but have seem to only find idiots who think 20 min videos of them unboxing the damn thing is a tutorial!!! Even the Behringer review is just giving you the low down on what it has & "CAN" do. When I finally got the mixer, I pretty much had watched all the Tracktion tutorials (as this was the recording software it came with) & understood most of it without any hands on use. Mind you, I had still been searching for a tutorial on how to use the Behringer usb with the software, or any other programs for that matter. I've know how to use a mixing board for quite some time & even how to record with Cakewalk, only using the one mic through the pc not an audio interface. I wanted to know how to freaking record myself playing guitar, bass, vocals, drums, etc. with the ability to mic my whole drum kit not just one pc mic hanging over the damn thing! As well as mix it all down to a good recording worthy of putting it all out there to others. It's been almost a year I see, since you posted this 2 part instructional, using the smaller Xenyx usb & a completely different recording program...... But "HOLY COW MAN" you are the only one that gave me that key info that helped in my quest to understand the working process of my board. Many, many thanks! :) I'm still learning as I go, but now I'm able to record & record in multitrack. Again, many thanks to your simple. easy to understand & most informative 2 part video! Thanks for not showing me how to take it out of the box! LOL! Kurt; Voodoo on the Side
Thank you very much and glad to hear your getting use to the mixer. I have several videos on the mixer which I fully made use of. The mixer gave me a lot of learning knowledge and understanding which I would share and gave me the ability to upgrade to a more pro digital mixer, which in no time you will also, so thank you and keep it up.
Thanks for the tutorial, genuinely the only thing that has helped me get anywhere with my Xenyx QX2222... just wondering then, as I have a friend who plays drums and he has multiple microphones, would I not be able to use this hardware in order to record multiple microphones at once?
I have the Behringer Xenyx X1222 USB console - But I can't find any information on how to use the TAP button in conjunction with effects button selctor. Have you any idea how I can use this correctly? Cheers!
Yo i have a question !! I wan’t boost my kick of my akai xr20 and my sub bass of my microkorg .. I don’t know if i should use compressor on ch1 for left and ch2 for right or should i use stereo channel (i see it was better to compress the bass if i want more sensation on it i want more vibration on my kick and sub bass on my microkorg ) i love the vibration of bass and i wan’t focus my track on this !! Thanks for your help 🙏
Hello! Thank you for being very simple but effective on topic :) I see that you did this video 6 or 7 years ago, and now I have problem with usb connection from y Xenyx x1204usb to my PC.. Could you help me to have a possibility to record something from Xenyx?
Hi Elias hwzt Buddy, tell me ..i have the Behriger 1204 USB the issue I am coming across is that when I have connected the monitors to it via the main outputs I do not get my Microphone feedback until I disconnect visa verse .any ideas?
hey dude, I acquired a xenxy 1204us for better recording my band. How would you advice me to better setup my mics? I've got 2 mics for each guitars, 1 bass, 1 vocal, and 2 for drums)!
I have a problem where when Im trying to record, the sound is only coming through in the left ear. Not sure if I missed something here, but I can't figure out what could be wrong. The sound coming from my computer plays in both ears of my headphones, but when Im recording it comes through only to the left. Any ideas?
Hi. Your video was VERY helpful! I have a Behringer xenyx QX1202 mixer. Is there a way for me to use my phone as the output device so that the microphone from the mixer is used instead of the one in my phone while recording videos ?
Hey,i got a queston. I want to record music on my pc with the usb function. But i want to hear it out my speakers to. So is it possible to set my speakers on the sub 1+2 channel?
you really would only need to use the compressor knob to boost or balance low signal levels, sound level. Use it if you want each your connected channels/inserts or sounds to be on the same sound level. For example if one channel sound louder than another.
Personally, I've found the USB in/out to be fairly useless for multitrack recording. The latency is terrible even with the ASIO drivers. You always get a little slapback echo going. I just do things the old fashioned way and run the outputs from the sub channel to my soundcard inputs and run the soundcard outputs to the 2-track RCA inputs and record analog. If anything, it sounds better.
Why? The RCA inputs get routed to the monitors. That's the way we've recorded analog since the 80's. Or, you can bring the sound-card outputs into a free channel.
no Charlie is correct. the subs or the Aux sends should feed a true I/O device then how you get it back into the board is a matter of choice, Aux returns/2 track / whatever. Also you set your levels with the gain control not the fader. get your signal to a nice clean 0 VU for recording. when home recording wear a headset DON'T set you levels based on feedback with mics and speakers in the same room that's rank amateur.
I have two active monitors (Yamaha HS7) plugged in as Main Output in my mixer with XLR cables, and I'm using Guitar Rig software. I can't get the distorted sound from my computer out through my monitors, all I get is clean unprocessed sound. If I use my computer speakers through the "Headphone" jack, it works fine, but I want to use my monitors. Isn't this possible? No matter how I do it, I can't get rid of the clean sound coming out of the monitors.
Thanks man!! I am curious, can you record from this mixer into iPad software? Also I think it would be great if you would give an in depth tutorial of the effects section. How they sound, the adjustable parameters etc. Again, thanks. Very informative tutorial!
Nop just the 2 main chanel on the daw ( i dont think it have a way to multi channel whit this mixer the only way i see is to have 2 separate mono chanel on 2 separate track but is not the best.. is good for guitard and bass and other stuf that have just mono on it !! )
Can someone tell how to send the audio of a phantom line in mono, to use pedal effects on it, then send it back, and hear and record only the processed audio without the original?
+Elias Gadgets (Gary) what about 4 mics through to chanells? like kick drum and toms and snare and high hat through another? what even is the point of having 12 inputs when you can't do multi track recording? but thank you your videos are very helpful its just i don't understand the purpose of all the inputs
Arable Desert - nope, i thought it would been 16 channel but whatever i tried, only 2 of anything can be recorded at once or at the same time. The purpose of the mixer is to handle a mix, i.e a band or podcasting and you would use other means of recording facilities which is a pity.
It's near zero but pretty low latency. it's more apparent while using the onboard effects to the computer where recording is like a second slow but its not that noticeable unless you really are looking.
Elias Khan Near zero is 8 - 15 milliseconds, 100 millisecond is a lot.... So hopefully it's that low (without any effects present) especially on playback from the computer.
Bro.... you really need to figure out how to do your videos so that the narration part (the part that you are vocalizing) is "on par" with the output of the mixer. You know... "Normalization". I have to quickly turn down my PC volume every time you have us listen to the mixer, then I have to turn up my volume on my PC when you start talking again. For goodness sakes! I thought you knew how to use a mixer.
Greetings, thought I'd drop a note to say thank for your 2 part production, best I have seen on this mixer. Thank you!
I'm a bit late to the party but I just bought this mixer and your two video tutorials were a HUGE help in figuring this thing out!!! Thank you!!!

I've enjoyed this. You're very easy to follow & understand. Thank you!
Great tutorial on entire RUclips!!!❤️❤️🙏
Thank you sir. Could you do a video on how to connect the monitors through the aux sends?
Really good video, the manual is only good for initial set up, thanks for creating these, your music sounds great as well 👍👍👍👍
Congrats man! I liked very much the explanation. I'm from Brazil and I use the same set... thanks for all! God bless you!
Elias! Great video! I have that same board. Can you show how to adjust the compression for vocals and/or instruments please?
Thanks,
Very informative and helpful.
Thank you!

Its for synch your effect time like echo reverb ..

Hi. Your video was VERY helpful!
I have a Behringer xenyx QX1202 mixer. Is there a way for me to use my phone as the output device so that the microphone from the mixer is used instead of the one in my phone while recording videos ?
+Medini Sriram I don't really know, I think you can if your phone has the same software but am not sure to be honest.
+Elias Gadgets (Gary) Thanks for your help anyway, your video really helped me set up my mixer. I'll try the phone out once I get the needed wires :-)
Hey,i got a queston. I want to record music on my pc with the usb function. But i want to hear it out my speakers to. So is it possible to set my speakers on the sub 1+2 channel?
hi, yes but here check my vid out where I show how to hear sound from speakers.... ruclips.net/video/ou_RUrzUkFg/видео.html
Can you explain to me how the compressor knob works and how to use it...
you really would only need to use the compressor knob to boost or balance low signal levels, sound level. Use it if you want each your connected channels/inserts or sounds to be on the same sound level. For example if one channel sound louder than another.
Good day, I want to record the audio at my Android phone, the USB at the back is functioning?
Personally, I've found the USB in/out to be fairly useless for multitrack recording. The latency is terrible even with the ASIO drivers. You always get a little slapback echo going. I just do things the old fashioned way and run the outputs from the sub channel to my soundcard inputs and run the soundcard outputs to the 2-track RCA inputs and record analog. If anything, it sounds better.
That doesn't make any sense.
Why? The RCA inputs get routed to the monitors. That's the way we've recorded analog since the 80's. Or, you can bring the sound-card outputs into a free channel.
Well. Either you've explained that incorrectly, or you've been doing it wrong for 30 years. Because it doesn't make sense.
no Charlie is correct. the subs or the Aux sends should feed a true I/O device then how you get it back into the board is a matter of choice, Aux returns/2 track / whatever. Also you set your levels with the gain control not the fader. get your signal to a nice clean 0 VU for recording. when home recording wear a headset DON'T set you levels based on feedback with mics and speakers in the same room that's rank amateur.

Than connect your speakers via the control room output, check out my video "Behringer X1622usb Q&A"
Thank you so much for that information
Very nice tutorial, all the way until the end with that jumbled up noise from the phone that left on a negative note.
Thanks man!! I am curious, can you record from this mixer into iPad software? Also I think it would be great if you would give an in depth tutorial of the effects section. How they sound, the adjustable parameters etc. Again, thanks. Very informative tutorial!
I think I covered a few bits on FX here.. ruclips.net/video/ou_RUrzUkFg/видео.html
Yes if your iPad has the software to record.
Is there anyway to map the mixer to logic to learn the knobs and faders?
does it have a different channel when you record on DAW?
Nop just the 2 main chanel on the daw ( i dont think it have a way to multi channel whit this mixer the only way i see is to have 2 separate mono chanel on 2 separate track but is not the best.. is good for guitard and bass and other stuf that have just mono on it !! )
Can someone tell how to send the audio of a phantom line in mono, to use pedal effects on it, then send it back, and hear and record only the processed audio without the original?
+alejandro sanchez Trying to figure this out right now. Did you ever get it working?
Hi. How can i use different effects on different channels?
Yes you can use on any of the channels and also add your own effects from another fx unit by connecting into the back of the mixers channels.
So can I do multitrack (at least 4 drum tracks) recording on this? From mixer via usb to mac?
no, only 2. 1 mono and 1 stereo or 2 mono only but whichever you can only record 2 tracks / channel.
+Elias Gadgets (Gary) what about 4 mics through to chanells? like kick drum and toms and snare and high hat through another? what even is the point of having 12 inputs when you can't do multi track recording? but thank you your videos are very helpful its just i don't understand the purpose of all the inputs
+Elias Gadgets (Gary) also can you even do mixing on this from the tracks not just use it as an audio interface?
Arable Desert - nope, i thought it would been 16 channel but whatever i tried, only 2 of anything can be recorded at once or at the same time. The purpose of the mixer is to handle a mix, i.e a band or podcasting and you would use other means of recording facilities which is a pity.
Arable Desert Yes you can do mixing on it, its a live mixer/audio interface.
What's the latency like on playback from the computer?
It's near zero but pretty low latency. it's more apparent while using the onboard effects to the computer where recording is like a second slow but its not that noticeable unless you really are looking.
Elias Khan Near zero is 8 - 15 milliseconds, 100 millisecond is a lot....
So hopefully it's that low (without any effects present) especially on playback from the computer.
Playback is fine, no noticeable delay.
Elias Khan Sounds good. I've ordered it, I'll soon know how it works with R6. Thanks for the reviews (made me buy it)
Thank you.
cant hear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey can we talk?
😊
I bought one used, but cant find ANY drivers for it.. Please help!!
For an audio person the quality here is abysmal.
