I have to agree with you. While Caddy is trying to be "edgy" and "cool" it comes across as boxy and hideous, lacking any styling other than right angles. In a sense, Caddy went back to the 80's and 90's style, where a box shaped car was ok. I'm more partial to curves and smooth corners. i got one on lease busters (base model). great deal, 9 months old. i think that base model is a good value. car is just too low tech and unattractive to buy full price.
I'm wondering if the third gen had sh-awd. In looks is arguable. But overall the 4th gen trumps the 3rd gen in just about everything else. I'm sorry but the 3rd gen TL Is not better than the 4th gen TL.
Aj Ev 3rd gen doesn’t have the AWD unfortunately and I think it looks better than this. Also, how is the 4th Gen better? It may have more power but it’s Waay to heavy to put it all down and I don’t see the sh-AWD beating a type s in a drag race
@@ChromeMan04 The 4th gen is better for one SHAWD will out handle any type s especially when both are pushed. Also cabin tech, now the 4th gen has USB bluetooth audio, 60 gigabyte harddrive that you can burn CDs into the dash distance markers on the reverse camera and the map graphics on the infotainment screen is better. On the advanced package blind spot monitoring and Three stage heated and cooled seats. Also on the I MID display the 3rd gen shows limited information. For example when the car overheats the 4th gen shows engine over temperature in the I MID, not just the temp indicator pointing to hot. That's just one example. Also the 4th gen do not have cracked dashboards looking like a road map on the passenger side airbag cover. Now as far as acceleration the SHAWD 4th gen with 6 speed manual 0-60 in 5.2 the type S 5.5 seconds. Now automatic vs automatic the 4th gen got a 6 speed auto from 2012 and up. I don't thing a type S with a 5 speed automatic and 286 horsepower can go 0-60 under 6 seconds. In fact the Nissan Maxima from that era can easily run with an automatic type S. Now let's be honest the type S was not the epitome of a sports sedan. The automatic lexus IS Infiniti G37 or G35 the BMW 330 and so on has been eating the type S for lunch. I'm a true Honda Acura fan however everyone is looking at the looks of the car instead of the substance. To be honest I think the 4th gen looks more upscale than the 3rd gen, and looks more premium. I say that 3rd gen TL type S is overrated and the 4th gen TL is underrated. At least Acura had enough sense to not call the 4th gen tl a type S knowing last type S was getting smoked by the competition with Automatics. I love Honda Acura I really do but I see the type S for what it was. The one thing I will give credit to the type S or any 3rd gen TL was the top speed, certain years and models were good for 155 mph. But my brother's 5 series (528) BMW is good for 130 MPH. At the end of the day I can live with the 4th gen top speed of 130-135mph. The 3rd gen TL was a good looking car no doubt.
Aj Ev 4th gens are too heavy, my friend race a stock type s and lost badly. I don’t know about the 0-60 times but in terms of weight the 3rd gen is better hands down
@@ChromeMan04 ok being heavier doesn't mean slower. Put professional drivers in both then you will see the difference. Loosing badly I seriously doubt that. If you are talking about weight ok 3rd gen is better but overall performance I dont think so. Would I buy a 3rd gen type s TL absolutely. But I see pros and cons to both generations of the TL.
Not worth the money. Essentially an 8th gen guised up Accord. Buy an Accord V6 Touring instead, which the 9th gen model has been around for two years already...278hp on *regular* gas with 34mpg highway.
I have a 2008 honda accord v6 exl with navigation. I also have a TL Shawd, having both if the TL is a Guised up Accord its Guised up really good. Put the Accord and the TL at 85-90 mph on the interstate the TL is engineered different that's for sure. Now the 9th Gen Accord is really nice about everything, Especially the Touring V6. If a person like to drive like me I'll take the Acura. That being said the Accords are really good though.
It’s not a guisesd accord they don’t even share the same components. An accord is made cheaper than the TL and looks less appealing too. 278 hp? The AWD makes 305 HP.

Yeah they are.
Not a fan of the body, but i will admit, the sound isnt that bad
Video is not working for me
Im very happy with my 08 Acura TL Type S. The last good looking TL imo. After 08 look eww.
how to activate bluetooth
The last acura I’ve liked they’ve gone quite downhill afterwards
does not have the usual TL touch to it
My first car was an Acura and I loved it. I really want to like this car, but man it basically looks like an accord
Don't judge a book by its cover
i got one on lease busters (base model). great deal, 9 months old.
i think that base model is a good value. car is just too low tech and unattractive to buy full price.
its not working because it hasnt been completely processed by youtube yet.
I like it but i wouldnt get one

Best gen was the 3rd gen after that forget it.
On the advanced package blind spot monitoring and
Three stage heated and cooled seats.
It's a shame a good, reliable machine is looks as boring as Saturday afternoon television...inside and out
so the 2014 Acura TL is an American car??? not japanese
No it’s Japanese
2009 was also the beginning of the economic downturn in the US so that is responsible for most of the decline in auto sales.
not a big fan of the exterior particularly the back
Acura Acura Acura....
damn this car has way too many buttons
Now..
Not worth the money. Essentially an 8th gen guised up Accord. Buy an Accord V6 Touring instead, which the 9th gen model has been around for two years already...278hp on *regular* gas with 34mpg highway.
oldtwins na lol they’re worth like 14k now. Pre owned.
It's my unhumble opinion...but it's pretty pathetic when the TSX is a better looking car POST 2008.

Dude, why have you been wearing gloves in your videos lately?
cause it's cold?
This car is painfully ugly. It looks like an angry hawk with its little beak, and the back is all edgy and awkward looking.
Looks like it's trying as hard as it can to be a Cadillac!!
Nobody would ever want to be a Cadillac.
