      Thanks Andrew. I know, so lucky with the weather. It’s well worth doing and I may do it again next year. Although whoever we I do it I know the conditions will be worse and can imagine it’s far more difficult in poor conditions. It’s a great route.

    Yesterday I got to the Lion Inn at Blakey Ridge - 2 days to go. Brilliant walk (although my feet have suffered badly - no giving up now). Great video - looking forward to the rest of the walk.

    • @krisgleave
      @krisgleave  2 года назад

      Aah brilliant well done. That’s a brutal section to Blakey Ridge and for me was the hardest day. It’s a long slog isn’t it! Did you get the driving rain and strong wind too up there? I pitched my tent near the benches outside the front.
      Best of luck with the rest of your walk. If you haven’t got there already head to Intake Farm it’s a great place to stay and cheap.

      @@krisgleave had the rain on the journey through the Lakes and through to Kirkby Stephen. Tomorrow should be our last day. Doing the trip as a "slackpacker" - leader, hotels and bus transfers between start/finish points.

    Nice video and great weather. The only minor error was the statue mention. It's not Wainwright.

    • @krisgleave
      @krisgleave  2 года назад +1

      Cheers Chris I appreciate that. In the video I meant it’s the statue on the walk everyone highlights on the Coast to Coast route. Wainwright was also a guy who didn’t even bother with a rain jacket and never wanted to carry a bag either haha. Just read his autobiography it’s a good read.
      Also yes the weather was awesome for 95% I was really lucky.

    Great video. I had exactly the same issue with the atom pack rubbing against my neck, I cannot recommend Waymark packs highly enough - the shoulder straps are super comfortable, just a shame about the import costs

    • @krisgleave
      @krisgleave  2 года назад

      Hey Nick hope you’re well. The pack was perfect after the first couple of days and used it lots since and literally so comfy. I just think I wasn’t used to the pack and the weight and the walk at first but after a couple of days it was great. I really rate the pack and it’s super comfortable. Guess I just needed a day or two to break it in haha.
      Yeah import costs suck. Although I’ve just got the Durston X-Mid 1P Solid from eBay US. Managed to send to a friend in Vegas who shipped it to me. Significantly cheaper 😉

    Hi Kris. When you said your bag was about 11KG, Is that with or without water? I’m starting it at the end of the month andtrying to organise my bag. Mine is roughly 13kg with 2 litres of water.

    • @krisgleave
      @krisgleave  4 месяца назад +1

      Hi Mark, that will be weight without water I think or maybe 0.6L can’t really remember. I don’t count water weight as don’t really carry it as I have a filter. So I tend to top up and drink when I see a water source. I often just carry 0.6L in a bottle with electrolytes and drink as I go.
      Your weight sounds fine. Honestly the best thing is don’t worry about weight so much. Have a local walk with all your bag packed and see how it feels. Obviously the less weight the easier it’ll be on you.
      Definitely take a water filter as always points to top up so you don’t need to carry as much then.
