Saw someone mentioned me, cool that you found the Stewart to Ganassi and Kenseth to RCR rumors as well! (I've got an alt-history series where those things happen)
@@RuffMotorsports93it’s worth watching, but start from the beginning of 2001 and match up some of your rumors….really puts things in perspective of what would have been
These videos are great. Takes me back to when Jayski was more rumors than news and it's wild thinking today that we speculated on all these things back then.
@@RuffMotorsports93. Well, yes and no. It's not on TV, but it's a web series that uses NASCAR Racing 2003 Season to simulate a parallel dimension history of NASCAR, highlighting minute and obscure differences between that timeline and our own (if you haven't heard of NR2003, is a NASCAR simracing game with incredible moddability that allows it to facilitate this sort of thing in the first place; if you _have_ heard of it, you'd obviously be aware of that). Honestly, that's the only reason I'm aware of this rumour even being a thing. I was about to make the "Hey, I've seen this one!" joke, but someone clearly beat me to the punch.
Ah! I’ve genuinely never heard of Fork in the Road. I am aware of NR2003, though I’ve never gotten to play it. PC gaming was something that I never did that much of. Wanted to get into iRacing for a while, but realized that if I really wanted to do it right then I was going to have to drop some money into it that I really just didn’t have.
@@RuffMotorsports93. If you’re interested in NASCAR history (especially with rumours such as this one), then I highly recommend giving Fork in the Road a watch. And I _most definitely_ recommend trying NR2003; a legitimate copy can go for upwards of $60, and you’d need a dedicated sim racing setup to get the most out of it, but it is well worth the price and effort.
I could be wrong, but I heard that Jimmy Spencer sat in Ganassi’s IndyCar as a bet and I think drove, but he was too big for IndyCar. And I believe Kevin Harvick was originally gonna do IndyCar in general and not NASCAR.
Some of the rumors about the 31 car and who was going to get the Lowe’s sponsorship were wild! I chose to focus on Kenseth, but I probably could do a whole video on the 31 car and Lowe’s
Ford actually wanted Yates to run a third car in the Cup series for the late Kenny Irwin in '98 or '99. Irwin did make a handful of starts for Yates in a number 27 Tonka Ford. I think lack of funding for the 27 caused it to fall through. Also the Dodge Dealers sponsor was to have been shared between Evernham and Petty Enterprises. The 19 was originally going to be sponsored by Pepsico. Adam Petty's passing changed a lot even on the business side of racing.
I’m not sure if you heard of this rumour back in 2021: Kevin Harvick potentially retiring at the end of 2021 and buying JTG Daughtery Racing. Feel free to include it in your next video if you can!
Part 4 will be coming! It’ll probably be a few weeks though. I’m a “don’t quit your day job” level RUclipsr and work and family stuff have my schedule pretty packed for the next couple of weeks. But I am starting to work on part 4 and hope to have it out soon! Glad you enjoyed! Like I said, I’ll keep making these videos as long as people enjoy them!
Actually, AJ got to run the Indy 500 in 2013, finished 7th and let some laps. But he didn’t run the 600, so no double. It would be cool to see him actually run both. Ryan Blaney is another name I tossed around too, he would be cool too!
Actually, I have a whole video just devoted to that one! It’s on my channel page on the what if? Playlist or here’s a link! What If Jamie McMurray Took Penske’s Offer? ruclips.net/video/cfQpfuEQxxU/видео.html
@@RuffMotorsports93 you know, it turns out I had not only watched that video but also commented on it 10 months ago, just didn't enter my mind that it was made by you 🤣
I think Justin Haley would be a great fit at the Indy 500 because of his Indiana heritage and his partnership with Rick ware last year and with Rick being involved in an IndyCar team you never know.
I actually agree with you on Justin Haley being a great fit for it. I hadn’t actually thought about him at all. Although now that I’m thinking of it, I really wonder what the departure was like for him at RWR and if there are any hard feelings there. For the first half of the season, he looked like the team’s savior after signing a multi-year deal, but then he jumped ship before the first season was even over and when the Spire opportunity came up. I wonder if that left some hard feelings
I'm thinking about the third car for Yates was probably for Jeremy Mayfield after his release from Penske. This is just my opinion, but I believe Ford still wanted the talent of Mayfield in a Ford car rather than somewhere else and asked the other big Ford team to hire him.
Actually, that’s a really interesting take and I wonder how history would have been different if Mayfield had been at Yates instead of Evernham. Yates definitely declined in their last few years, but we wouldn’t have seen the huge fallout between Mayfield and Evernham, so maybe that portion of his career would look a lot different.

I think if Stewart went to Ganassi, Dodge in general would’ve been better and won more championships tbh.
Oh yeah, I think getting Tony Stewart in his prime would’ve elevated the whole program, I think he would have still gotten a couple of championships
I think regardless if with Gibbs or Ganassi, Tony Stewart wins 2002 title,
Agreed
I think Dodge might still be in NASCAR today if that happened.
@@D2RCR Maybe, But all of the team mergers back in the late 2000’s kinda caused them leaving.
That picture of Jimmy Spencer in the IndyCar is one of the funniest pictures I have ever seen
Right? The mental image I had when I read that was just hilarious!
I loved Spencer but when I saw him I always saw Barney Gumble lol

This will probably come across as a dumb question, but is there a TV show called Fork in the Road? Haha and thank you, I appreciate it!

100%. I could see the 24 hours of Daytona happening more easily than the Indy 500 for them though.

Busch & Larson in the 500 would be cool but it would only be cool if Larson won
Let Timmy Hill run the double
