G'day, mate. I watched this a while ago when I was getting ready to replace the upper control arms on my 05 RWD hi-rider V6 4.0 l auto crew cab. Since the last time I watched, I've replaced the upper control arms, all the ball joints, the tie-rod ends, all the bushes, and replaced the old, worn-out standard shocks with a set of Dobinsons Nitrogen shocks. The engine and rest of the drive train has been refurbished as well. New rotors and pads, all new suspension bushes. Aluminium thermostat housing, new water pump. Replaced the clutch fan with a set of electric fans from a Nissan that fit perfectly, all new seals for the plenum, exhaust manifolds etc. Lots more to do. I have all the gear here for a dual battery system controlled by a DC-DC charger with a dedicated solar panel as well. Plus a full 12/240 volt setup for the rest of the vehicle. I just have to put the jigsaw puzzle together. Sorry for the long comment. Oh, and I scored a little nudge bar/lightbar/number plate holder from an old Commodore bumper and trimmed the bar down and mounted it, and a friend had given me a pair of hand-me-down NARVA Ultima Blue spot/pencil spotties that kinda suit the age of the ute. So they're mounted now. I really need to shoot another video with an update on what I've done so far.
Wish I had found this video before I undid my three 12mm top ball joint bolts and the tension sheared one of those bolts off in my ball joint. Hint for the future. Measure how much thread the torsion adjusting bolt has out of the top side. It will make it quicker to get back to close to where you were before
Hey Josh congrats on your little man hope the wife and him are good. Mate could you please if you have the time let me know were i can get the diff lowering kit and ipper control arms for the courier please. Thanks in advance. Jim
Good to see her progress! I’ve got them uca’s and diff drop but I’m not sure if I should install them or look at a sas setup. Keen to see her offroad again with the repairs / mods 🙂
Yeah I've found Gareth's stuff to be pretty good so far with the engine stuff so figured I give these ago. And yeah I've heard that about em but almost all my steering stuff is flogged out so cheapest way to replace everything at once and now I just gotta continue to maintain it
