I was having issues with my phone not automatically switching to the strongest wifi access point when walking around my house. I was considering installing a mesh system, but now I don't have to. Routines completely solve the issue. Now when my signal strength is 2 bars or less, the routine turn off my wifi and another routine turns it back on, connecting to the strongest signal. Its great. It just works.
I always preferred compact phones like S10e and S22 until I saw your video covering each and every feature of the S-Pen which made me switch to S22U and now I'm typing this comment in my S23U. As usual an amazing video on the powerful feature of Samsung phones. Watched it liked it and saved it to my favorites list. Thank you!
Samsung phones have an insane amount of features! I use Modes and Routines on my phone and recently started using good lock. Samsung phones are the best I have the Samsung A52s 5g and A11
I too have been using GoodLock with Modes and Routines on my Z Fold 5! However, there is so many options, I don't know where to continue lol! What kind of routines or modes do you use personally?
I can’t even comprehend what I just watched on what this feature can do. It just makes me wonder how people spend thousands of dollars on phones and not even tap into there full potential they just use a few apps and messages and calls. My mind is blown 🤯 never would have imagined a phone could do these things
My sister drives me crazy because she wants the latest Android phone but she doesn't do much with it. lol So there's an app called IFTTT which stands for "if this then that" basically meaning if this happens then that happens. I had that app 10 years ago on my Android devices and it worked off the same idea. You'd set parameters so that when a certain condition was met, or multiple conditions, then certain other things would be triggered. Obviously 10 years ago there were lots of things it couldn't control because we just didn't have the capability. But it could actually do many, many things online that Modes and Routines is still not set up to do. I'm sure that app helped lead to Samsung's Modes and Routines and I think Google also has Routines. Just thought it was interesting that there actually was an app that did this sort of thing 10 years ago but it seemed like the only people who knew about it were those of us who were Android phone geeks. lol Your comment reminded me of IFTTT. It still exists but it's way more in-depth for automation than Modes and Routines.
The essence of a "Smartphone" lies in its ability to utilize its processor not just for basic applications, which is what sets it apart from Apple devices that prioritize powerful processors for simple tasks and overlook advanced features.

Seperate question.. what is the difference between using maracas adapter vs hdmi/usb c cable say on a hotel room TV? Also I usually use dex while on my PC for work haven't much experience or experimented with the windows feature, which do you prefer and what are the main differences between them?
@@saddleupndream The difference between miracast and an hdmi/usbc cable with a TV will be the latency (the delay between when you do something on your phone and when you see it happen on the TV). Miracast will be fine if you're just streaming videos, but if you wanted to do something like gaming, using the HDMI/USB C cable will be a much better option. The main difference between DeX and link to windows is that, with Dex, you need to start it manually, and it appears as a rectangular window with all of the Dex related apps inside the window. With link to windows, it connects automatically and each app you want to control from your phone opens up in its own separate window. Personally, I prefer link to windows since it's automatic and I mainly just use it for messaging. But Dex will be better if you want to open an app from your phone in a much larger window.
A couple of seconds quieter intro music would be ok otherwise viewers will quickly skip forward or reduce the volume, but I don’t think you need any music. Great video! Is there a routine that allows you to send a pre-determined reply to an SMS (eg; "I'm driving and will get back to you soon.") while you're driving?
Great Job. I just got my S23 on wednesday and had to reset as migration from iOS was manual and missed everything. One KEY feature for me on iOS was their version of Modes: yet Samsung did a LOT beltter!! Triggers was a SWEET touch!
Modes/Routines is roughly equivalent to Focus/Shortcuts. Nearly everything in this video can be done with an iphone as well. Of course there would be some minor differences, but they are very similar. Both basically perform a series of actions based on input or conditions.
Great video. I was on the phone with Samsung for an hour yesterday without success and your video explained exactly what I wanted to do. Took me 2 minutes. Do you know how to create a routine that gets around android audio so I can get email notifications?
Hi, Thanks for the video. Could please suggest any good temperd glass screen protector? I tried so many but none works with the fingerprint sensor even after Re-installing fingerprints.

Wow... that was such a comprehensive piece. Thanks so much. Trouble is it's confused me more in how I want to set my phone for a specific task. I had a Windows Phone when they were around and the thing I liked about it was if I put my phone down screen first onto a table it muted and just vibrated if a call came through or a notification came through. I'd like to do the same thing but I don't seem to find that option just in the phone settings itself (other than if a call is coming through and you flip the phone onto its screen it supposed to mute the ringtone - never had any success with that). I wonder, how would you go about creating a routine or mode for what I'd like to have happen?? If I want ringtones I'd keep my phone screen facing up but if I want it muted and vibrate only to put my phone screen down on tables (if I'm out at a dinner or in a meeting)? Any advice TechisodeTV or anyone?
Long time no see you seem to be doing well. You know I have to say the one thing that keeps me from being all the way team Samsung is the Apple Watch. I have an ultra and it is hands-down, the best smart watch I’ve ever used in my life, and it keeps me from being able to be tied to my galaxy S 22 ultra, which is depressing. Just got the A54 5G and never knew about this feature until i saw somebody elses video about it. My last Samsung phone was the S8. I automated alot of things on my phone and it reduced so much time switching things up manually. I find the fun in discovery and try out all the things routines can do. Wish I knew about this sooner. I feel like an novice programmer with it ahaha This does make the "smart phone" so much smarter
Sadly, the one thing I really wanted this to work on doesn't. I noticed my Wear app pops up a notification when my Watch 4 is fully charged. So, I TRIED to setup a routine to read the notification out loud if I get a notification from the Galaxy Wearable app with the word "Watch", "fully" or "charged". It's supposed to give me the Edge lighting effect one time, vibrate once, read the selected app notification out loud and show it on the Always On Display. It never works.
ah wow...I'm not the only one who tried this. It's quite difficult. The main issue is trying to find the Wear app as the trigger. It can't be 'exposed' for Routines to 'see' it

I was expecting to use routines to select some spam sms with some keywords (as in old samsung devices) and delete them right away, but seems that there is no option for that.
Is there a routine I can create that will get Bixby to do what Cortana was able to do? Namely, when a text message comes in, Cortana announced the incoming text, would ask me if I wanted to read it or ignore it. If I said "read it", she would read the text and THEN ask if I wanted to reply. If I said, "yes", she asked what I wanted to say. After I dictated the message, she would read it back and ask if it was correct, and then ask if I wanted to send it. I could say "cancel" at any point to stop the flow. THAT is what I need Bixby to do.
The VPN "then" options don't work, at least for me. I tried to set it up for my adguard home app based VPN and my Wireguard app VPN, but the phone says something about not working with appbased VPNs. My tablet (A8) can't download (couldn't find) good lock.
Funny thing is while watching your videos, I always think "There's no way he can come up with a video where things can get crazier" And you come out of nowhere like "hold my beer, I'm gonna outdo myself" And it just keeps getting better every single time. Every tech youtuber out there has an S23 Ultra but no one knows more about this phone than you sir. Respect🫡🫡
I'm an android user since Cupcake. I'm sure this uses way more battery than Tasker. Looks cool though, seems like this is why Samsung has has limit what apps can control, especially that I'm not rooting any if my newer devices, even more limited but secure.. Your video is good enough that I just may tryout routines on a device that is haven't set up tasker PROFILES yet.
The way on apple, when you set focus modes, you can have a whole different homescreen set up automatically with that specific focus mode. Can you do that o. Samsung
Need help please.... I have a mode set to turn on All sounds when I receive a specific app notification, but I can't seem to get the actual app notification to sound. It worked before a factory reset so I know it's possible but now I can't seem to get it to work. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks
You absolutely nailed it... " Guru".. I am big fan of your...on this routines can i get notifications on phone in any format voice or text from watch 5 that watch battery is low at 20 % need to charge.. If yes could you please explain how to do it.. Do i need goodlock & routines +.. I will be greatfull.. Thx in advance
if only i can access the developer option with the routine actions. case: i have a non-dex supported samsung, and i want whenever i connect to my screen with a 3-in-1 HDMI converter, i want to change the DPI and then launch a desktop launcher
One suggestion - can you pls make video in such resolution where if i pinch to full screen in samsung device it doesn't crop the content... i mean as this video is for samsung flagship so we can make use of fullscreen mode. TIA
I can't figure out how to use it on my watch every time I go to it it says it's not set up Please help!!! I have the watch Ultra and I swipe down to the modes and it says nothing set but on my phone it is
You can set it to be launched manually. For me, i connect my phone to the car with the cable for connection+charging so it works to add a condition if paired to car
I like have the ability to customize what I want but I don't like actually having all the choices because it's way too much to consider.. and I just quit halfway through trying to figure out what I even want to set
Maybe I missed it in the video (or it simply doesn't exist) but is there a way to have a single routine that is "if ANY conditions are met THEN..."? The only thing is see are "ALL conditions". It's ok if you can't set it that way but I stole your idea of making sure my volumes are up for important calls and messages. It just seems like you need to make 2 separate routines, 1 for calls and 1 for messages.
I feel all techy if I remember to use the pen on my note 10+ that verizon keeps trying to kill/limit it's usability so I'll be forced to upgrade like they did on my s9+.
Ihave a Bug with modes and routines. Under routines, the NFC option under IF is not the same you have, but there is an action listed, to write on the NFC tag. This results in a never ending loop.
The problem I have is: i have garmin fenix 6 pro and I would like a routine that turns the always on display on if I am disconnected from the watch an vice vesa but it doesn't work. Do you have any work arounds ?
I ride a bike and use a nice BT headset in my helmet. I use waze on my phone to navigate. If i make calls using assistant, it always brings the phone app up to take over my display, over my navigation. Incoming calls are not effected, as I use mini pop-up for that. How can I stop the phone from taking over my display during outgoing calls while on my bike using Waze? Routines and Modes will not let me restrict the Phone app...
I was messing with modes and I turned on sleep mode with the restric app usage then I turned off sleep mode and all the apps besides selected kept saying sleep was on so all apps unusable I had to do a factory reset any easier fix? Has thus happen to anyone?

Does bixby routines use a lot battery and memory? sometimes my a50 are bugging and i think that is bixby that using memory in the background.
No
Funny thing is while watching your videos, I always think "There's no way he can come up with a video where things can get crazier"
And you come out of nowhere like "hold my beer, I'm gonna outdo myself"
And it just keeps getting better every single time.
I im using rountines on daily basis but battery life was never a concern, same battery life if i doesn't use rountines
@@PheonixLeo So you're saying routines uses more battery than you would like?
@@DJLNR. no its uses almost no extra battery... And on my daily usw i get more than 1hr extra sot with routines
@@DJLNR. Same battery life wasn't affected on my end
Does the spen options work with s21u
How do I get this on the note 9
You cant!!!
Holy shait! I'm speechless! I have just - reluctantly - switched from iPhone to SG S24U. OMG.
Ok. I'm saving this for setup later! Thank you for showing us!
The way on apple, when you set focus modes, you can have a whole different homescreen set up automatically with that specific focus mode. Can you do that o. Samsung
Yes
@@ltcolfrankslade. how
Hey man great video thanks! How can I preset home&work? Couldn't find it anywhere
Is there any app for pure Android of this type?
So this app does basically the same as Shortcuts and Focus modes do on iPhone?
It does way more better than Shortcut and Focus mode on iPhone
Nope CRAPLE phone just sits there stupidly
Need help please.... I have a mode set to turn on All sounds when I receive a specific app notification, but I can't seem to get the actual app notification to sound. It worked before a factory reset so I know it's possible but now I can't seem to get it to work. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks
This Channel is such a gem
Hi🖖 What's the app shows the verse of the day on your screen? There are tons of them, but what did you choose? And why exactly this one?
Are Modes and Routines automatically backed up?
How do you block incoming call during a set time? For example your boss or coworker
Please. How do I have Do Not Disturb on in Modes and also be able to play music from Spotify?
Thanks for this helpful video! ❤
if only i can access the developer option with the routine actions.
case: i have a non-dex supported samsung, and i want whenever i connect to my screen with a 3-in-1 HDMI converter, i want to change the DPI and then launch a desktop launcher
One suggestion - can you pls make video in such resolution where if i pinch to full screen in samsung device it doesn't crop the content... i mean as this video is for samsung flagship so we can make use of fullscreen mode. TIA
I've been using Routines for so long that i forget most phones can't do it.
iPhone has something similar, but not nearly as powerful
That Beast mode part is TRULY INSANE! Great video as always 👏🤍
Wow Wow Wow
As usual
Very comprehensive and helpful information Bro
I can't figure out how to use it on my watch every time I go to it it says it's not set up Please help!!! I have the watch Ultra and I swipe down to the modes and it says nothing set but on my phone it is
I love the feature to customize when i get in my vehicles, however i can't get it to auto detect the car without turning on Bluetooth first.
You can set it to be launched manually. For me, i connect my phone to the car with the cable for connection+charging so it works to add a condition if paired to car
My phone opens up my car too!!! So you know
I like have the ability to customize what I want but I don't like actually having all the choices because it's way too much to consider.. and I just quit halfway through trying to figure out what I even want to set
Do you have a solution?
The problem I have is: i have garmin fenix 6 pro and I would like a routine that turns the always on display on if I am disconnected from the watch an vice vesa but it doesn't work. Do you have any work arounds ?
Yep if condition: Bluetooth device fenix 6 off, then cond. : change settings turn on aod
Yes toss at brick wall 100 times
you're good at what you do, cheers!
Thanks, however, I have a basic question: Does routine use more battery and affect battery life?
Nope
I ride a bike and use a nice BT headset in my helmet. I use waze on my phone to navigate. If i make calls using assistant, it always brings the phone app up to take over my display, over my navigation. Incoming calls are not effected, as I use mini pop-up for that. How can I stop the phone from taking over my display during outgoing calls while on my bike using Waze? Routines and Modes will not let me restrict the Phone app...
That's pretty slick but I'm waiting for a routine to take out the garbage and scoop the cat box 😉.
I was messing with modes and I turned on sleep mode with the restric app usage then I turned off sleep mode and all the apps besides selected kept saying sleep was on so all apps unusable I had to do a factory reset any easier fix? Has thus happen to anyone?
I am missing the entire 'context' category under "IF" section..... Anyone know why?
I'm also missing context. Have you discovered why? Thank you.
Why??? Use Google Voice by turning on Registar and tapping the back of your phone 2 times!!! Stop the rest of the garbage
Awesome Video it been a while. Thanks so much for sharing ✌️
