Another great video Joyce! I agree with Kristin that the Sensors don't get enough screentime on youtube! As always, thanks for providing them a platform! Roger - I always enjoy listening to you speak for ISFJs. As a person with close ISFJ friends and family members, I appreciate how much you are willing to show in Type Talk videos because it's almost impossible to get an ISFJ to speak outside of Fe if ya'll aint comfortable. Ricardo - Dude, your presence alone in this video reminds me why ESFJs are in my top 3 types. You were smiling the entire time! Kristin - Your videos are awesome and I learned so much about the ESFPs in my life through them. Something that I constantly remind myself that you said in your video is that for ESFPs, emotions can't be ignored. That was a lightbulb moment for a Thinking type like myself. Jamila - I laughed so hard when you mentioned that, 'you don't understand when people say that they forget to eat.' because it reminded me that I haven't eaten yet and my stomach was rumbling 😂
I love the way Joyce does this thing, such good setting, such good direction and steering of the conversation in an interesting way, you're amazing, thank you for what you do. Mua
Thank you Joyce for hosting this interesting "SF" panel! I was starstruck being in the same space with such wonderful and amazing people. It's one thing watching as an audience, but to be chosen and featured with these iconic guests is mindblowing for me. I had a great time! 🤗🤗🤗
Joyce - to the first part about style and aesthetics, my ISFJ husband isn't a fashionable person, but he cares about a neat appearance and has a very classic look. He tends to look put together in his clothes. He isn't the decorator in the house but he isn't impervious to it. He does have an opinion and again, does care about the mood and look of a room. He definitely cares if we have people coming to visit and how clean and nice the house looks. He definitely has an awareness! Don't give up on this commonality (maybe more broadly than fashion) for SFs. I also call them "blenders." SFs blend in and not make waves with a vibe.
This was very helpful! I would love more content about the sensing functions because I think they are misunderstood and a little underrepresented in content in the MBTI community.
isfp 4w5 here. i love the discussion about style because it's a big thing in my life. i pick and wear things purely for myself based on how i feel and what i think looks good for the day. it has nothing to do with getting/or avoiding attention or what other people think. same goes for my art hobbies. very hinged on fi here when it comes to all that.
So positive SF meeting, left a favourable impression.☀ ISFJ here, I am in touch with my body, so much, that this is the center of my life. It`s partial due to bad condition of my health, but it was not much less in my youth. I can`t even imagine not being aware of my needs like hunger or thirst. They are always first on my priority list. I follow a specific diet and have many other limitations due to my disability.♿ And this requires constant caution and discipline. For me small talks are rather boring, but better than nothing. With majority of people which I know, this is the only way, I can communicate with. I prefer more in-depth conversations. Thanks to all participants😀
This is interesting thanks to everyone who participated. There seems to be a prejudice against “SF” types from content creators in general. Possibly because they might be the least likely to create content or get caught up in the self analysis required. I am not sure how you can create group descriptions on the basis of either “NF” or “SF”. For example although both introverted and extroverted feelers might both value harmony this value has not been arrived at in the same way. What might momentarily appear synchronising will break down over time. I will interested to read your book Joyce. Good luck 😊
I agree! You can see and feel the whole Fe/Fi and Se/Si differences. That's why this panel was interesting to do because you can see how how both judging and perceiving functions play out in the 4 "SF" types 😊
Joyce, you could make panels showcasing addiction+typology (preferably addiction issues in the past), depression/anxiety+typology, gifted-kids-struggles+typology, burn-out+typology all with respect to temperaments, interaction-styles or anything else (whichever suits these cases the best).
i really relate! ISFP - I have had a very traumatic background so it was much harder though to follow my inner compass, almost being forced to be fe/people pleasing and ruminating against it
When Jamila used the word "Oxymoron" i totally related.. i often use this word... Having a ESFP best Friend, a close ESFJ, and a loved ISFJ friend(who is so witty) this was interesting to watch. The ISFJ's I know are pretty fashionable, but in a subtle way. Where the ESFJ is very fashionable with her makeup, shoes, hair, and nails always being on point(perfect) and always urging me to wear makeup or to try wearing heels. Like Ricardo she is picks up on others vibe or how they are feeling so fast, and she moves towards them to see how they are doing. My ESFP friend & i are very intuned to eachother, we can speak with our expression if a moment requires it😂. Thank you Joyce for bringing this panel together ❤️
Hahaha 😂my life Bestie is an ESFJ and we are arranging a 40th Birthday party for our childhood friends and the vibe dropped for a second when figuring out dates and out of town logistics. She immediately texted me and was like, I wouldn’t say anything and I was like ok ok haha, we will leave the door open and re approach it at the end of summer, since summer can be planning stressful. Reminded me of hs when some of the more dominant kids ( read abusive haha) in our popular clique would scare her and I was like nope, not a thing and would just knock them down with offensive bulldozing just because I knew that in the long run, it was better for their character development haha. 😂. I mean I’m a people pleaser too, but sfj people pleasing making makes me rebellious. I could always see where everyone’s personality was sort of developing and when the sf’s in my life were upset about our friends or enemies changing…. I was like I’m neutral… let’s see where this goes and good on them for growing. If I can help to make people grow… job accomplished. Too much Se policing is like that teacher from Harry Potter who wore all of the dress suits and skirts and her mouth twitched when the fe went out of what she wanted it to be…. When sf goes evil, it can be like deeply troubling, since it is their demon ti and te time, like major human traumas and just like genocides happen that way: sorry just ruined the vibe 😂. But like normally, I need sfjs especially around things like kids and politics, honestly. But, like I like to watch them in case we need to come in to control the chaos that they can make.
Interesting! I'm learning more and more about the other types (INFJ here). It's so weird for me ro hear people say how much they love talking to people and how they can talk small talk for hours. Haha. Thanks, Joyce.
I can be very SE, it all depends on how I feel physically, whether in a group or one:one. I will actually walk away if it’s a stranger, if it’s at work, or family, I will politely explain I don’t feel good and can’t handle pleasantries right now.
My 5 yr old daughter is an ISFJ, I think she might be an enneagram 6w7. She has a natural sense of what colors go together for clothes and when coloring/decorating. She is a shy and quiet child but she is just naturally good at color coordination. I am an INFP 4W5 self preservation and I have a sense of style when it comes to my garden or home but it is more about how it makes others feel (calm, sanctuary) etc. I often settle for something that makes me not stand out in terms of clothing but I long to let go and wear elegant or beautiful/tasteful but I get so self conscious that I end up wearing something almost bland like grey or black.
I mentioned in the live stream comments that sensors generally have good memories. What I should've said is Sensors with a strong Ti ( introverted Thinking ) function whether it be in the dominant, auxiliary or tertiary function positions do. So I think ESTP has the best overall memory, almost photographic, followed by ISTPs and ISFJs. For Some Reason people have said SJs have good memories and I've noticed that some do but in general I'm inclined to say TI > Si as far as memory is concerned in my opinion. SJs just document everything. I'm a xSTP type and I remember everything - in great detail, without ever writing anything down.
I agree with this as an ESFJ. I have very good emotional memories with complete details. I love to systematize and categorize everything neatly and efficiently!
I'm afraid it's not just young people who don't eat well. I'm a 50 year old ISFP and although I keep meaning to eat healthier, I still haven't gotten around to doing that yet. Also, side note, I never relate to any of the enneagram types. I feel like there should be an enneagram 10 that's like a catch all for the people who don't really fit in any of the other numbers.
Joyce smiling and vigorously nodding in your direction could cure cancer

What a practical, people focused bunch ☺️
Ricardo is a great guest. Good to see the Esfj representation. And thankyou to everyone else
You're welcome! Thank you for the kind compliments 🤗
Roger seems like a solid chill dude who has a very goofy but hidden side to him!

4:15 “if you want to laugh until you cry your pants.”
Dammit, Joyce, get your act together!!! 😂

50:52 I'm an ISTP but I definitely relate to the forgetting to eat thing. I'm pretty sure for me it's more of an ADHD thing tho
ISTP here, my INTJ friend often forgets to eat but he hasn't ADHD so don't worry
すごい!

Jamila said she did a breakdown of each type's style - where can I find that? I'd love to see it.
Thanks for this SF panel, Joyce!

@@RetroXRicardo Yep, even as an Inferior Function Ti is going make itself felt.

ISFJ and ESFJ are traditional and play out the popular thing. ESFP and ISFP are people that bamg on the traditionalists' reality.
Love that! So true
50:50 lol so true
You need to invite an INTJ to destroy the good vibe! 🙃
😨
