It’s such a great algorithm. I just wish there was a way to crate them and truly seperate each part of the kit automatically. Because the one thing the algorithm isn’t so good at is deciding the level of each part of the kit.
Jade Starr true that. It’s solid but it’s not quite up there with a custom Jade Starr drum track. 🥁 🤘
Awesome! Thanks so much!!

Haha! Hidden treasure. Cool ain’t it? Http://studiolivetoday.com/garageband
Thanks Pete! So, I was thinking, if you have a good drum beat in your head, maybe just kind of beat box to it and record that. And set set the drummer to follow that! Gonna try it!
Oh wow?! You always have next level ideas Cees! What a cool idea?!
Pete Johns Thanks Pete!
I do something similar..:I sing the bassline!
Wow! Just tried it and am gobsmacked.. did t know that feature existed. Thanks ever so much for sharing that tip you are a great teacher 👍👍

Pete Johns I’ve already subscribed thanks and shall enjoy learning lots more. Appreciate you taking time and effort to share your knowledge 👍🎸
Your song sounds pretty cool. I can't believe you recorded it on Garage Band on iOS.
Haha! Yup. GarageBand is pretty underrated. Http://studiolivetoday.com/garageband
Cool! Shame the other virtual instruments havent got a follow option, can never be asked with the bass, should have it on that👍
Yeah would definitely be cool to have on other types of instruments.
Nice one sir
Teacher One thank you my friend. I hope you get value from the other videos on the channel and consider subscribing if you haven’t already. 👍

Pete Johns already subscribed, learned so much from your videos
Thanks for this video. Can you please tell me how to get rid of a crash cymbal that automatically plays at the beginning of each drum section/clip?
Hey there. You can either turn off all fills, or convert to MIDI drums and remove them manually. ruclips.net/video/mm9ZxG_v3K0/видео.html&feature=shares
Sir can you make video about mapping the drum pad of akai mpk mini in garage band?
Teacher One hi there. I don’t own one sorry. GarageBand doesn’t have any drum programming or pad programming options sorry. It needs to be done outside of GarageBand.
Thanks very much, your tutorials are really helpful! Still I struggle with one particular problem, which is, that especially on electronic kits, the kick has a specific pitch, e.g. an a. If the Bass also plays an a, it´s no problem, but if the bass plays a d they get in each others way, especially on those low frequencies. Do you have any idea how to solve that problem?
I showed a way to split out and change the pitch of a drum on last week’s GarageBand weekly. Check it out here.

@@PeteJohnsMusic yes I already watched it! Thanks!
Hey Pete. New to the channel. I like how you teach! But I already have a question. I don’t have the “follow” option on Drummer. There’s no clear reason for this that I can find, and I’m wondering if this is something you’ve dealt with. Im using iPhone XR with all the current updates. Keep doin you, Pete.
Oh really? Sorry - totally missed this question back in the day. It should be there as long as you have at least one other track to follow. ruclips.net/video/QXgk-NIj7OY/видео.html
Is there a way to get the bass to match the drum tempo if I change the drum tempo ( ie speed it up )?
Yes if the bass is a virtual instrument. If you record an audio track you’d need to re-record it or use something like this.
ruclips.net/video/VbEzhygQqgw/видео.html
Hey John! Just found your videos, I'm binge watching them lol. I have a problem I can't figure out. I use Bias FX like 90% of the time and i usually use iAA in auria pro but it's been giving me problems lately. I'm starting to like GB for it's simplicity. I need to be able to record a clean mic on one channel and Bias FX as iAA on the other channel. I have a dual input Audient ID14 and usually works perfectly in other programs. When I choose my iAA on one input it applies it to both channels so my voice basically sounds like a guitar lol. Do you know if it's possible to do this?
Hey there. I haven’t had a heap of experience with this sorry. I tend to use Audio Unit plugins and record in clean. Maybe hit up the GarageBand Users Facebook group for some advice? studiolivetoday.com/gbu
@@PeteJohnsMusic thanks for the quick reply! I'll definitely do that
If you’re doing EDM, which sounds will you recommend on GarageBand
There are so many! Make sure you have downloaded all the sound library packs as there are a heap of great EDM sounds in there.
What are ways to make the virtual drummers sound real?
This option works well. Heaps of detailed demos on the channel. ruclips.net/video/ueEaHLsRLPs/видео.html
So is it following audio waves? And the second question what if I go a little bit of beads with the bass? Real bass? Is it also going to play the kick out of beat?
Hey there my friend. Yep, it does. And it seems to be quite forgiving with missed notes and stays closer to the grid.
Pete Johns and since it is a audio wave. like guitars or bass. How does GarageBand knows that it is a base or a guitar if this is an audio wave?
This is a VERY VERY cool feature indeed!! Now...can you set it to "Progressive Rock--The Neil Peart Level" ???
LMAO LOL😂🤣😂 Man I'm just kidding around with ya Pete-silly me always trying to get a laugh!!🙃😁🤪 It is a Truely Kick Ass feature, wish more DAW's had features like this!!! Hey.. for any of you Engineers or future DAW creators out there..make one for some Mind Numbing Leads on guitar & you probably wouldn't be able to keep it in stock!!!LoL..🤣😂 Theres that ol getting a laugh thing again!!✌
Nice one mate. 👍🙏
How to find or create odd time signature beats like 5/4?
Hey there. It’s not the easiest thing to manage in GarageBand unfortunately, but here’s a video where I show a workaround. ruclips.net/video/gRPBQovD1D0/видео.html
@@PeteJohnsMusic thank you buddy! You're a genius!
@@PeteJohnsMusic is there any way where I can edit the loops like guitar playing! It doesn't go with the chords so I wanted to know whether it can be assigned on the keyboard and played as sample with each note?
OK, my garageband suffers from arrhythmia. My snare is alway opposite of where I want it to be. No matter what i do always in wrong place. Follow on, follow bass, nothing makes it to play the right way. I changed drummers, drums, drum settings. Snare is always oppodite of whete i want it to be.
Super weird? Haven’t come across that sorry. Might be a question for the GarageBand Users Facebook group. studiolivetoday.com/gbu

Feel like I’m the only that can’t make this feature work … old & dumb
It won’t work for every part unfortunately. A bit of trial and error is involved.
I thought of SIK too 🤔 Did you steal Sharon is Karen from me? Have to ask. Wow if you did that's uncreative.
I can’t guarantee I didn’t hear it from someone else, but since I don’t know you, it’s pretty unlikely. 🤷🏻♂️
