After receiving this guy and handling him for awhile I have to say your entire review is the most spot on about this Megatron. He is truly only amazing in bot mode. It's a shame with both alt modes. 😒
Can we stop it with the “how is this x class?” and “x class used to be bigger”. It’s shrinkflation. Get over it.
It has a gun fan mode…not just tank and jet mode
Yeah, i think you were a bit harsh. I actually don't mind the jet mode, i think it looks something out of a Terminator movie.
Robot mode: FANTASTIC, Tank mode: fine, jet mode: shouldn’t have been included. The transformation for the jet mode is really obnoxious. Probably wont make him a jet anytime soon
My takeaway and reason for buying this guy is because we have not had a decent Megatron robot mode (not counting Beast Wars figures) in a VERY long time. I hated the Siege mold so much and that’s all they want to use. I am buying these Studio Series guys for their robot modes mainly. I get they didn’t have an alt mode in mind when making this guy. Was more of an afterthought. I guess I’ll wait to see it in hand.
Finally someone who doesn’t sugar coat it it’s just the BBM soundwave all over again except the key difference is that in robot mode soundwave has cool features that imo makes up for the bad alt mode but this is basically just a action figure because the only thing going for it imo is the robot mode and possibility there are no features like on Soundwave that make you come back to it and maybe eject ravage or rumble
The fact his tank mode doesn't have wheels and roll blows my mind!! It's a commander class for god sake
What most forget that Transformers is more then just the robit mode. It's a 3 in 1 toy. A vehicle/object/or beast, a puzzle, and an action figure. By focusing on 1 feature you completely lose out on the whole experience.
This SS Megatron has more articulation and molded detail than both Legacy/Kingdom Galvatron and Legacy Armada Megatron. I know it's disappointing we only get big figures in Master Piece and Titan class, but I refuse to consider SS Megs inferior to the other two leaders JUST because he's a little smaller.

I most likey will buy this as i dont own a megatron (just got into collecting transformers a few months back), and after i heard rumors of this toy i didnt want a megatron til i got this bucket of bolts! And i personally think that this toy is awesome, it may not have wheels (WHY!?!?), but it looks super cool and is a triple changer!
He's definitely not prefect but it's the best rendition of movie megatron. So he will definitely be picked up when he is on sale.

The face here is a little odd. But the rest (including the alt-modes) are neat.
Got mine pre-ordered for my birthday. His robot is peaked, tank mode looks like Metal Slug and the jet is an arcade SHMUp fighter.
I feel like the alt modes are a let down so they could focus everything on the robot mode which i get but for that price i wish they could have done better
1 alt mode is okay.
