Megatron as a Triple-Changer? Boy, is that something I haven't seen in a while. Cool!
It seems you never grew up with Megatron from the _Cybertron_ toyline.
That Megatron was a Triple Changer who turned into a car and a jet.
I'm surprised by Hasbro, this almost looks like a Third Party figure
After 6+ years of rotting in the Paramount vaults, this Megatron has been unthawed from his long slumber!
The history behind this figure is a huge part of its appeal for me; for those unaware, Megatron was present in a test cut of Bumblebee, featured in a post-credits where he is frozen in Sector 7's custody, which is of course intended to tie into his appearance in the original 2007 film. However, following TLK's mild underperformance, Bumblebee was essentially retooled to downplay its "prequel" status, adding the Cybertron scenes and removing a lot of the references to prior films, including Megatron. However, this design very nearly was picked back up for the Cybertron scenes, but preserving continuity with the 07 film was still on the minds of the production, so Megatron was effectively scrapped *twice.* This is why this figure is advertised as being cut from the Cybertron scenes, but designer commentary and the original 3D CAD model used to design this figure confirms the existence of the prior cut of the movie - the model used by Hasbro still had the ice all over his armor from the test cut scene.
As a further bridge to the Bay films, in fact, Megatron's alt modes are intended to have lineage with his 07 jet mode and his ROTF tank mode; though of course the designers have also confirmed influence from Animated Megatron's long lost "Marauder" triple-changer body design.
It's better to keep this new continuity separate from the Bayverse. It would just make the continuity messier than it already is. Megatron was shown to have his 07 design when he landed on Earth, when would he have time to switch to his Bumblebee design and then back in time for the 07 movie?
You'd be surprised just how far Paramount will go up their asses just to keep bayverse a thing. It bothers me that Hasbro hasn't taken their IPs away from this POS studio.

If you guys are TF Animated Fan, you might need to know that this Triple-Changing Megatron, who turns to Jet and Tank, is inspired by that Unreleased Marauder Megatron Figure.
I figured it was based on the few brief clips of Revenge of the Fallen Meg's flying tank mode.

And since I've seen some people get confused, this is based on concept art from the Bumblebee movie
For me, the idea Megatron as a triple changer (as he transform to a jet and a tank) is a great idea, but in reality….. not much.

This Megatron figure is easily the Leader Class and one of if not the Figures of the Year of 2023 next to IDW Tarn, Armada Prime, Hot Shot & Jolt, Leo Prime, ROTB Bee, Prime and Primal

NGL, I came to appreciate the monstrous face of the 2007/RotF/DotM Megs, but I'm liking this face design too, specially his big mustache.
I am super excited for this Megatron to release in February. Right now I only have the ROTF and DOTM Voyagers and they're either horribly designed or hugely out of scale for an SS line up. While I am getting the Decepticon 4 pack to have Megatron in the 2007 line up, this as a Leader does everything so much better than any prior release or iteration of Movie Megatron. As a triple changer he probably succeeds best as the space jet but the real seller here is his uncompromised bot mode/articulation, and paint which feels more in line with a Premium release than a main line Leader.

I honestly don't get why reviewers who got this Megatron, like emgo316 and Patriot Prime Reviews, decide to transform the figure into tank mode first before moving on to jet mode.
The moment I get this Megatron, I've transforming him to jet mode right off the bat!

Such an odd figure, it prioritizes its robot mode, but then goes and becomes a tripple changer. I feel the budget couldve been better spent on a bigger size or more accessories. For those who dont know, the alt modes for this figure have made a name for themselves as being not so good

The tank mode is cool. The robot mode is cool. Didn't dig the jet mode...
This guy seriously looks awesome I just kind of wish he was a tad bit taller. I’m sucker for Megatrons that tower over Optimus prime. Also,m speaking of Optimus prime, I have an idea. If you don’t like ROTB Primes Alr mode, you can possibly put it with the BB movie Bots and call it a Cybertronian Prime. RotB prime looks better with BB movie Megatron more than the actual BB movie Prime anyways.
This might be my Transformers Prime biases talking but I love that this Megatron is just about a head taller than Optimus. I personally prefer that size difference between the 2 because of that show.

While I adore the concept of a live action, Triple changing G1 style Megatron (and I'm saying that as someone who HASN'T really grown on G1 as a kid), after seeing another video who reviewed this figure, the sad truth is that the execution of this concept in this figire feels half baked, as it has a number of problems stability wise. Still, now that they have created this figure, they can create better versions of this concept in the future!😊.
I can see now why this wasn’t in the movie.

Sorry BUT I THINK THEY’VE DONE MUCH BETTER TRIPLE VERSIONS OF MEGATON AND I HAVE TO SAY THAT THE 5 DIFFERENT TRANSFORMATIONS FROM THE ROBOTS IN D FROM 2002 WAS THE BEST FIVE FORMER OLD MEGATON HAD APART FROM THE G1 ERA ?. Oh yes I am that old that I watched The 1986 TRANSFORMERS THE MOVIE ! But I think them Bringing Transformers back in The early 2000’s where Good Old Megs Transformed into 5 DIFFERENT MODES WAS GOOD ! FROM A TWO HEADED DRAGON TO CAR TO A HAND TO A ROBOT ?. I think his Third or was it his Second Form was in between Tank and Robot ? NOT GOOD NOT AT ALL ?. I think G1 ROBOTS IN D DID IT BETTER ?.
Cool the caps button to start, also the franchise has been back on TV since 1996. also that 6 changer megatron had 11 modes when he was galvatron.
I still hate the pseudo-organic, fleshy-looking faces, but this design is perfect.
Probably should have more grey than black though.
