Love this music, loved the 80s and loved being a teen and young adult during that time. I just turned 57 and still love this ageless and timeless music, because it brings back amazing times and great memories. We saw them in concert in Radio City Music Hall, NYC back in the 80s and loved it, great show and one of the best shows we have attended. What an nostalgic feeling I get every time I hear this song and always sing along when I hear it.
SHOUT should become the "Universal National Anthem" "Shout...shout.." "Let it all out..." "These are the things I can do without, come on.." "I'm talking to you....come on.." Epic music & lyrics.
I very much prefer to hear them live (meaning no miming or playbacks) because I find Roland puts so much more emotion into his songs. They are amazing. I think if your album is good and your live act is even better... that's when you know you're listening to one of the greatest musicians/bands of all time.
Roland Orzabal is such a talented songwriter and singer. Head Over Heels is probably my favorite Tears For Fears song, but I like Shout more and more each time I hear it. Like an anthem becoming a movement.
When I hear songs from the big chair CD weather I'm driving, in the elevator, bank or restraunt my daughter and I start singing along. Roland with his real excellent guitar playing adds noticable changes to all their songs! We really enjoy listen to the songs and bring back lots of great memories. Thank you greatly Roland and Curt for your great music.
Yep. Those songs hold up today. Just don't write them like that anymore. Very unique timbre in their voices. Unusual but lovely how they articulate backing vocal lines to work live. Kinda like how Alice in Chains does it. Back then lots of people trying to sound like Morrissey.
I cannot believe this is not playback! This song is closer to me than almost any other song. It says the things I don't always have the courage to say. Love you Roland and Curt.
I saw Tears For Fears live 3 times here in Hamburg, Germany. 1.) a concert from the "Seeds of Love Tour" in the early Nineties (same show as in California) with Oleta Adams 2.) NOKIA "Night of the Proms" in 2008 3.) a concert in 2019 And: Yes, all shows where hosted with Roland & Curt. Of course.
Curt is just as adorable as Roland. His smile is super cute. I love seeing both of them smile. They really light me up. I love these guys and they were made to sing together.
I love both of their voices, this song is so strong and his voice in this is so powerful, I think it is a celebration to have such a strong beautiful voice like this , they were one of the best and hot too!
I really love the music of the 90's and 80's and I'm only 12 I just really enjoy listening to this music cause it's simple and actual talent now it's just auto tune
If that's what you love, try music from 60s and 70s. A common trait that music from that time share, is the quality of sincere and true while being really simple - they can move you to tears.
Tears for Fears sound exactly the same whether performing live in concert or on that (now) ancient album I still have. One of the absolute best 80's bands we had back then! ❤
@CelesteK I know and I love them for that. It's always so obvious when they are lip singing... Roland laughs all the time! (I'm thinking Shout - MTV awards... and that australian show... Roland just burst out laughing like crazy while the record was still playing... lol.) They never take it seriously. Got to love them!
Que cantantes había antes cosa k en la actualidad ya no hay. Pero se quedan en el recuerdo x siempre.. Tenían todo voz , letra presentación muy guapos. tears for fears.
there's such obvious and wonderful commitment to putting on a good show, let's all be honest, when we see a show we want a recreation of what we hear on the album... these boys nail it and you can tell its their priority.

I know that I love hearing Roland and Curt's voices together. They have two different sets of voices that harmony wise blend so well together. :)
Remember when music used to sound really good and had deep meaningful lyrics? Because I do. And I’m sad that we don’t really have this anymore. Music nowdays seriously does suck I don’t care what anyone says.
@minily I think that when Roland has something that he wants to say or if Curt has something that he wants to say they both say it and they say it really well. :)
Whenever someone makes a comment on how music was better in past decades (luladavid) it tends to be because those people are ignorant of the music actually being produced and they stopped being into music after they're youth. Which is why you got people who know a lot about 80s music and nothing about modern music aside from what gets the media attention. but whatever, thats just my rant. Great song, great energy when they play live. I like seeing Curt sing along.
Cassidy Masten works at Costco Wholesales in Fairfax Virginia reminds me of Roland Orzabal. Cassidy Masten look almost like Roland Orzabal mostly the facial likeness and hair.
ONE OF THE BEST SONGS FROM THE 80'S IN MY BOOK.
The 80s aren't gone forever, its kids like me who love this music and plan to keep it alive.
There is someone else here with that spirit
Yes!!!!

This song has been around for 40 years and I still listen to it with the same joy as I did as a 20 year old in 1984. Health and wellness all!

Liam Murphy . They did mad world when I was 12 back in 1983. Much better than Garys version. It was good though buy I just preferred their version.
Its all about music back in the days. Just the word theraputic while singing the song makes me think how wonderful that era is
Jaystickzors . It's all crap today.
Listening to this does wonders to me...like what Roland says, it's therapeutic :) brings me back after getting knocked down. Best TFF song

Porque será que essas músicas, desse tempo, duram até hoje,e as de hoje duram dois meses.
Porque os cantores dos anos 80 sabiam fazer música é os de hoje não sabem.
Love this song, like that 80's sound

In violent times
You shouldn't have to sell your soul
In black and white
They really really ought to know
Those one track minds
That took you for a working boy
Kiss them goodbye
You shouldn't have to jump for joy
You shouldn't have to shout for joy
Shout
Shout
Let it all out
These are the things I can do without
Come on
I'm talking to you
Come on
They gave you life
And in return you gave them hell
As cold as ice
I hope we live to tell the tale
