Your last comment on length made me wonder just how long a barrel would have to be before it actually started to slow the bullet down rather than help it.
Of course! Those of us cursed with a "Stubby" just aren't as good as you Long Barreled Fellers! I see how it is! ha ha ha ha ha. Thanks Dustin.
Quite a difference in the lengths, Great test Dustin!
Please repeat the test with 22LR ammo. Another channel tested with 22LR and the 16" was slower than the 6.5"
That Betsy Ross pistol looks like the revolver jack Nicklesin used to shoot down the batplane
Powder choice is key for barrel length.
I still say that if you use the 22LR cylinder in the 16in barrel, it will be experiencing drag and would not be worth it. Try it with a 12in heritage rough rider using 22LR, and then I think you might see your point of maximum efficiency.
Heritage should add a bayonet lug on that big barreled one. Great job, Dusty Britches!
Velocity=Accuracy of course that is all relative to distance. But hey I am no scientist, I got to play with one, then she filed restraining orders made it all weird, HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
The longer the barrel, the faster the bullet,
Good test.
Very good video
when we look at guns and barrel lengths they very from cartridge to cartridge and at some point you get diminishing returns...
id like to see thi test on cap and ball , but not just barrel length but powder as well
There is a point of diminishing and or negative returns. I think around 10"
I'd like to see a follow up using 22 lr and comparing the two.
Well it's not the length of your Barrel that matters it's how you use it😁
Just like back in the day when I used to carry a 357 Ruger Blackhawk I also had a 357 Winchester carbine lever action
Wow that's quite the fps spread
