Thank you for the feedback! if you wish to support the channel you can LIKE or SUB or both :P regarding your question: it take any brand nvme and also its compatible with 3Gen or 4rth gen. but before doing this you must upgrade the bios, we got few more of them in the store after the making of the video and from outside looks the same exact model but it wasn't nvme compatible. and only accepted m.2 sata. if you buying from amazon get nvme and if its not recognized then return and get m.2 sata, else don't risk it get m.2 sata. its very unclear why 2 out of 10 are not nvme compatible :/

Thanks for the video. I have just purchased a refurbished Dell Optiplex 3050 Mini Pc and a Samsung SSD980 1 TB M.2. I can see the M.2 drive in the setup and in Windows, but I cannot get it to boot. Any suggestions on what I can do to fix this? Thanks ( Is this M.2 somehow now compatible with this system)
Thank you for the feedback! if you wish to support the channel you can LIKE or SUB or both :P regarding your question: you need to remove any other Drive that you have connected and leave the new ssd in, and create windows boot usb and install windows on it, and it will start booting on the new ssd. after finished place the other drive you had and format them for extra storage.
@@uFixTek Thanks for your response, that was the last method I tried and it worked. I had been trying to use EASEUS Backup Clone and Backup and restore, but I could never get the M.2 to boot. the 3050 have some issue that it does not recognizes m.2 easy, you can try resting the bios after installing. You can try, with the M.2 installed, to reset the CMOS Memory (BIOS) and see if that gets it detected. To reset the CMOS memory, with the PC powered off, remove the CR2032 battery on the motherboard for at least 10 minutes. Reinstall the battery, observing, polarity and power on. See if this helps. If not, do you have access to another PC that you can try the M.2 on to verify its working OK? Thank you for your support to the channel
I would imagine you tried to use a M.2 Sata SSD. Apparently it is NOT compatible with 3050 Micro. It can only accept PCIE M.2 (ie M.2 NVME SSD). I tried 3 different M.2 SATA SSD, all refused to work. Not sure why Dell made it this way, but that is how it is. www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-vi/000129720/optiplex-3050-support-for-pcie-m-2-ssd-hard-drives
