Man, I appreciate hearing that! You have it better than I do, you only have to watch me dribble on for 10-15 minutes usually. I have to listen to it over and over again for hours while editing it! So there are some videos where I am sick of hearing myself blabber on about things but it is comments like this that make all that worth it, so again, I really do appreciate that. Thanks for stopping by and for checking in!
Congrats and you will have a good time build and driving it! I do love the way this one looks, the aluminum finish on the parts is super cool! Have fun with it!
The Wild One is my favourite Tamiya kit ever and still have my original one. I picked this Blockhead one up but not touched it yet. You offered some excellent tips on this kit. Great video Adam 👍🏼
I wanted one of the originals but when this was announced I jumped on it! It is a very cool styled buggy and think it looks great in both styles but the original one may be a touch better looking. I am a sucker for the classic look. Thank you for stopping by and for the kinds words!
Thank you and I hope it shows up sooner than later! I put some of the new kits on backorder recently and just found out the expected arrival in in June some time. I feel like that is kind of mean to allow me to sit here all anxious and checking stock every other day just in case until June!?!?! Thanks for stopping by and checking it out! Have fun when you get yours!!
I just found one in a physical shop! Everyone has a different flavour build vids. Usually folks have different tips too. I can't wait to do mine! LED's is going to make it Epic!
Wow, you hit the jackpot! It is a fun kit and you will have a blast driving it. The GT Tuned motor is now my favorite and works really well in here, not trying to send you back to the shop or nothing but it is a nice combo! The LEDs do make it more fun for sure, adds a little something to it. Thanks for stopping by and checking it out and for checking in!
It is a great looking car, either the BH version or the original version! The shocks do hold it back some but since it was such a scale buggy I think they wanted to keep the shocks on the smaller, more true to real life size. I am sure you could upgrade them to something a bit bigger and the handling would improve a lot!
LOL, yeah, I am a little late to the show but think I got in there with some decent tips! The lights really make it cool and late evening they work pretty well with all 4 lit up. Would not go full speed in the dark, but for casual driving in the dusk/dark it works surprisingly well. Appreciate the job well done and thanks for stopping by and checking in!@
hmm. I think you may have tipped me over onto the 'buy' side! Also, yes that whole helmet crease annoys me too! thought I was special but hey... you're so right about the front shock and rear panel oversights - for a company like Tamiya been going for at least 40 years or more its a bad oversight, Also lights = ace! and I like it like you do, front white and a little blinky on the back like in race mode! Not too flashy and drifting-racer-boy over the top LEDs but just a bit of a highlight to enhance = class
Thank you for the very kind words and there are some issues and things that could be improved but overall it is a great kit and looks fantastic. I don't think you'd be upset about getting one!! Thanks for checking it out and for taking the time to leave your great comment, I appreciate it!!
Thank you Addam , I've just built mine and watched this video before I started, I've done the O ring in the front suspension and you were right about the 13 fingers lol , Thank you again , 😎👍👍👍👍👍👍
Glad it helped out a bit! The spring rubbing on the shock was something I could not deal with, a simple and cheap fix! I ma finding on more and more builds those extra fingers would really come in handy!
Thank you sir! It is a cool buggy and other than the front shock spring it was a great build. Those little o-rings worked out great keeping the springs centered. It is a fun runner as well!
Thanks! Yes, hello my name is Addam and I am an RC addict... I was a little late to the party since mine was a second shipment backorder so all the cool kids already made all the grand unboxing videos! I had a blast building it and glad you enjoyed watching me dribble on about mine! Thanks for stopping by and checking it out and for checking in!
Thank you, I try my best to point out areas I found confusing and/or had trouble. It was a fun build and other that the goofy spring perch issue it is a solid kit and is a lot of fun to drive!
Great looking buggy and i agree with you about the numbers on the back of the buggy, they dont look right.I also dont like the lights at the front, think it looks better with just the two.
The number plates are a unique touch and sets it apart from the original. I think they could have done a whole lot better with them to make them fit better and have a spot for the screw to recess in so it doesn't bulge the stickers. I think the should have cast them in the same gray or yellow plastic as the buggy and it would have been a lot nicer. I could go either way with the lights but since I had the LEDs here I am kind of glad they had the 4 up front since I does offer usable light now with the 4 up there. Took it out in the dark to test it and they actually work pretty well, won't run it at full speed but they worked surprisingly well. Thanks for stopping by and checking it out!
It really is a cool car and the most scale of the Tamiya buggies in my opinion. They did very well to be more to real life proportions in this kit. See if you can find those O-rings for you kit to fix that wonky shock spring and everything else should be fine. Enjoy it!
Also too funny ( that you have good taste in music) I posted a faux Losi review that was an excuse to show off my wild one box. I used the same song as you for this one lol! Hilarious!
I love all types of music and if I find one I like I snag it and I try to use ones that I think most will enjoy or at least not hate and skip over! Good to know that like minds thing alike! I'd say great but mine is far from great at this point!!
Can’t get enough of this buggy. I’ll never tire of looking at it. Well done on the lights! I also agree that the number plates could’ve been done better. The flathead screws are pointless when there’s no recess on the plates. It bothers me a little when i see them protrude from under the decals.
Yes!! If they had cast it in the same plastic as the cage and made it fit correctly it would have been perfect and the screws would not have been an issue and the edges of the sticker would not get damaged in roll overs. Simple fix but I guess it was going to cost too much...
looks great! Yep the front shock, big hands, and cutting the ball cups is weird! I painted my guy with black now also he looked funky with the big hands! Did you trim the insides of the tire bead off a little bit I found these tires fit like crap.
Getting one of these from Brice. I’ve wanted an srb type car since I was a kid, and vintage ones are too expensive. The bhm wild one is the one. I think I may get a vintage sticker kit from mci and go sorta old school with new school flare.
That's cool! They are a great kit to build and a ton of fun to drive! These are based off of the FAV (Fast Attack Vehicle) chassis and not an SRB, the SRB is the Sand Scorcher, Buggy Champ and F150 type cars with the graphite plate chassis. Either way it will be a blast to get one and you will love driving it around. Honestly it is is a much better driving and tougher kit than any of the SRB chassis kits!
@@AddamsPlayground they’re still considered part of the srb family. The second generation srb if you will. Fav was considered the upgraded srb. I just think these and the fav’s are cool because they actually look like a real sand buggy .. I think it’ll be a fun one to run against the Kyosho beetle
Great video and awesome build Addam.👍 I can't help, but it looks like they put the light pot set from the Comical Avante in this kit. This is a freat feature.
They do look rather large! It wouldn't surprise me if they re-used parts from another kit to do them. They do give you the much smaller rectangle ones if the big round one s are too big. I like them and with the LEDs they really look cool in the evening! Thanks for stopping by and checking in!
Honestly I think I like the blinking red tail lights more than the headlights!! For some reason it is amusing to watch them blink as it drives away from you. Sometimes it is the simple things and I am simple!! Thanks for stopping by and checking it out and for checking in!
Mint video dude, it’s like having a good conversation with you whilst building an Rc car. You have nailed it man keep it up 👌🏽 I am subscribed and will hit that bell boy 💥
Man I appreciate.that! It has taken a while to get comfortable in front of the camera and glad you liked it!! More stuff in the works and coming soon!!!
I am glad you found it useful and I could help out! It was a fun build and I am sure you had a great time with yours. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
Great minds think alike brother, I did something like that with a single rear pod & as for the front shocks, I kept off the G2 spring spacer but I added the G11 (shaded parts in the back of the manual) over the spring perch to hold the front spring better. Awesome job Addam & I agree with you about the rear number plates.
I didn't even think to look at the extras on the parts trees to see if anything would work. I thought the rear lights were a neat idea and the parts and lights were there so why not! I really love seeing the blinking red lights on it almost more than the headlights! Thanks for stopping by and checking it out and for checking in!
@@AddamsPlayground Also, when I built the shocks, I left out the MA23 shaft guide but used the extra clear O-Rings, also lube the hell out of the with Green Slim. so far no leaks and leaking shocks are common on the WO.
@@UncleBobsRC I use the green slime on any shock that is oil filled. I have has really good luck with it even on worn shock shafts it helps. It takes so little to do them and you are already gonna have messy fingers you might as well! Neat idea on the o-rings vs the spacer.
@@AddamsPlayground Green Slim all the way!!! I seen that G11 trick on Facebook, someone pointed it out I just copied them, But doubling up on the O-Rings in the shocks, that was me (as far as I know), I just built them like I would the CVA shocks.
Looks great Addam! Some great tips on the review also. I have not got a wild one but the more I see if it the more I am considering one! It is a very cool buggy! Looking forward to seeing your run video buddy 👍🏻
It is a looker! I like this one a lot as it is much more scale compared to many others from this era. It has the right size and shape to much of it and just looks like a real guy in there (once you fix his ginormous hands!) I wanted an original for a while and when this was announced I started setting money aside for it! It has it's quirks but I am very happy with it and (spoiler alert) it is a fun one to drive too, especially with the lights on it! Thanks for checking it out and checking in!
I contemplated this one and watched tons of build videos. OCD doesn't allow me to look away from the 2 different diameter holes on the front/rear silver wheels. For some reason I need them to be the same. Suppose I could just buy a different set of wheels... :D
I was going to recommend the Nova Fox wheels and then I realized they are the same way.... I honestly had not noticed on either car, I feel kind of let down now..... It is odd why they did that. Maybe in the pictures it is more noticeable as I have never caught on to that and I just built both of those kits in the last month or so! Thanks for stopping by an breaking my mind....
@@DudesRC It is all good, I am surprised I had not noticed it. I think they are both great looking and it really doesn't bother me but now that I know I can't unsee it!!!
Spoiler alert.... it drives great and a ton of fun! The onlny bad thing about getting this one is now I want the original Wild One too! It never ends.... Thanks for checking in
Nice adam looks coolvery nice im just finished my bug the blitzer so waiten to do the body in cistom color so when it is scratched up ill have the original black to go back on body with the decals on boxart im also putting in some liights also to run off its own 9v battery u know anyway looks cool, 👍
I love that Blitzer Beetle! I finally got around to ordering one. I have to wait a while to build it, I got it for my vacation build for when we go to the beach in late May next year. I don't think I have ever waited that long to build one! Yours should look real nice with lights on it and I am excited to see what you end up painting it. I have seen a lot of cool paint schemes on them I would have never thought of so I will be on the lookout for that one your channel!
It is a slick looking buggy, all those aluminum plated parts really make it look great. I think it is one of their most scale looking buggies. There are one or two others that come close. It drives rather well too, a little light in the front but many 2wd buggies have that issue. Thanks for watching and for checking in!
Definitely… I’m not a huge fan of the modern sleek, or cab-forward buggy body designs, but these boxy shaped ‘80s dune buggies are great, and the satin “metal” parts make it look way nicer than the original Wild One
It took forever to get this one. Don't worry, once the buzz dies down they will be available (I hope). As soon as they released it I had started to set aside the cash for it, I wanted a Wild One and when I saw this I knew I was going to re-order one. Was a few days late to pre-order it and ended up getting pushed to the second shipment so a ton of folks ordered ahead of me! I almost skipped it and pre-ordered the Porsche which now I am glad I didn't, I think I am much happier with this as i can run it any time. Thanks for checking in!
I preordered the Porsche still haven't gotten it now it is listed as back ordered but I think they only made so many. Soo I dont think I'm getting one.
Glad you liked it and I appreciate you following along! I subscribed to your channel as well! It has been a bumpy start to the new year but it will be filled with cool new stuff and looking forward to it! Thanks for checking in from Sweden!
Hi Addam, the WildOne Blockhead edition looks a great Tamiya 2WD, but as you say, some areas that Tamiya perhaps didn’t give as much thought, as they could have. For me though, I prefer the look of the original WildOne, but that’s just my opinion. I must admit, I would like to have one, maybe when I’m older enough 😉😊😂😊happy New Year to you and the family 😉😊😉
I do love the original and wanted one for some time so when this was announced I started saving the $$ for it! I do think they missed a few things that could have easily been improved and made it better, mainly those number plates. If they had cast those in plastic and made them fit better it would be much better. Also I should not have to source my own fix for a bad shack perch design, but I think most of the RC community are a resourceful bunch so I made it work and moved on. would have been nice to not have to fix the shortcomings of it but in the end it looks great and is fun to drive so I am still happy. Too bad I still want an original one too though! Happy New Year to you and yours as well!
I think it looks awesome! Certainly want to pick one of these up in the future. I've never painted any lettering on tires. What type of what type of marker or paint type for paint type is best to use?? And will it stay on even while running the vehicle?
Thanks, it is a sharp looking kit for sure. For the tire lettering I use a sharpie ultra fine tip oil paint marker, I got mine from Amazon. I am sure you can find them in craft stores as well. The paint does wear off and will need to be reapplied occasionally. If you run it on grass and loose dirt it should last a couple runs. Hard track racing one run will do it in from all the hard cornering. I have so many now they don't get run too often so the lettering lasts a bit longer for me. Even if it is once, just for the glamour shots before running it can be worth it!!
Yeah, I think we all have our own spin on things which helps and it is good to see various thoughts and ideas on things. Thanks for stopping by and for checking in!
Hi Addam and thanks for the cool video! I'm just starting my Blockhead build and it was great to hear your thoughts! I already have the standard version and agree with all your points, especially the boxing glove hands! I did the same as you and reduced then with some flat black, looks so much better. Nice teaser at the end and I hope you enjoyed that mint! A very happy new year to you and yours!
Hi Mark, hope some of the tips may help you out, that O-ring tip worked great and did not move at all during the run. I was a little worried it would pop up but came back perfect. The hands are just comical the way the come, gave me a good laugh! Wishing you a very Happy New Year to your and yours as well my friend!
@@AddamsPlayground Thanks my friend - yep, just fitted that O-ring and it feels just right! I'll give you a nod in my build! Just blasting through it, not a step by step for a change! ATB!
Do you think that in an alternate, dystopian Peanuts universe that Lucy would be driving the Wild One with Charlie Brown chained to the front Mad Max Fury Road style? ...or would Charlie be driving it because Lucy called him blockhead all the time?
I think it would be a Charlie Brown ride due to the blockhead name. It would probably break down all the time and get left in the dust but eventually would get there...
@@AddamsPlayground I see what you mean about it being Charlie Brown's ride. I was totally thinking that at first. But this is the part that confuses me...the car is blue which is the colour Lucy wears. That is what is making me lean towards it being Lucy's car; but it has to have Charlie Brown strapped to the front of it to make the 'Blockhead' name make sense. Hhmmmm....
That is a tough one! The BBX is a more modern platform and can handle brushless power easily and will accept most lipo packs. The Wild One just looks great and is still a great buggy, just a little dated as far as the drivetrain and suspension. Since I am mainly an old school guy I'd go for the Wild One. You'll enjoy either one!!
I do really like the look of this one. The Original Wild One will be back out in a couple months so you may have to decide if you like the old school look or the new blockhead style! I am debating myself if I need to get the original one or not. I might! Take care!

I have seen a lot of cool paint schemes on them I would have never thought of so I will be on the lookout for that one your channel!
I like this... great look
Man starting to think Im the only one with out a block head lol. Great video.
@@madmustangrc214 I think they still have more coming. I don't think they sent out the entire lot in the first shipments. So there is hope.
Looks awesome,i like it! Great channel aswell so i have subbed! Looking forward to follow your rc adventures during 2022! Greetings from Sweden 👍🙂
Happy New Year to you and yours as well!
very nice buggy looks awesome 👌subscribed 👍 👍
Thank you, I appreciate it! I subscribed to you as well
I think it looks awesome!
The tamiya way
This one is pure Tamiya for sure!
Good and interesting video 👍, I enjoyed it 😊
Thanks, I am glad you enjoyed me rambling on and on!!! Thanks for stopping by and checking it out and for checking in!
Beautiful build, not sure if you ever can get enough of videos even if it is on the same car haha. Looking forward to the first run.
Hhmmmm....
@@canuckchuck8836 LOL, I can see that!
I’m torn between this one and the bbx?
That is a tough one! The BBX is a more modern platform and can handle brushless power easily and will accept most lipo packs. The Wild One just looks great and is still a great buggy, just a little dated as far as the drivetrain and suspension. Since I am mainly an old school guy I'd go for the Wild One. You'll enjoy either one!!
@@AddamsPlayground Thank you ☺️
I may get one of these. They look REALLY cool
I do really like the look of this one. The Original Wild One will be back out in a couple months so you may have to decide if you like the old school look or the new blockhead style! I am debating myself if I need to get the original one or not. I might! Take care!
@@AddamsPlayground oh wow!! How exciting! I'll have to compare them and see!! Thanks a lot brudda!!
