The Sony also has a 1644p display and not a 2160p panel; the "4K" comes from the 3840 pixel width/height vs 12 Pro Max which has a width/height of 2778 pixels. So the difference between the 2 screens is huge but not as big as some may think.

Add an extra point for that 1mk3 being able to play games without using your battery if phone is plugged in via cable and being charged by a wall outlet. This feature is slept on big time. Less heat for your phone and battery and longer longevity for both. Hope next gen of xperias let's you use this feature not just for gaming... But any general use of the phone period! That would be amazing.
Admire your efforts making it scientific as possible 😃 did you try the same test but with different VPN address? This can dismiss the chance that one address can affect the phones differently. Also, it would be much reliable if you did the same 3 rounds test 3 times and average the results.(if you could do it with 2 different sets of the same devices-you will be the science king of phone comparisons!)
