I like the landfill scene better , because the deleted scene while comical also really makes it not just a empty resolution but the deleted scene where woody and the gang escape from Sunnyside with no Lotso, makes it a “The toys escape but what about Lotso and sunnyside????” The ending would have left people asking on Sunnyside and Lotso “What happened to Sunnyside?” “What happened to Lotso?” He basically just gets away and his villain role would’ve been reduced, his last 2 scenes Would’ve basically just been “he and his gang come riding in on that truck, checking in on toys(who still think woody is dead) In their cells, telling them about playtime happening soon” ….and then his final scene at night when they begin the breakout would’ve been just him sleeping on that chair.
