You two are very cute and I find it always very interesting to learn the opinions of people from different countries about Germany and the German culture! 👍🏼
Edeka will be mad at you for labeling it with the cheap 😂 Apart from its own brand „gut und günstig“ It tries really hard to be an exclusive supermarket with special interior design and partnerships with local organic producers 😆
So sweet! The concept of Pfand (deposit, consigne) is: It is charged on top of your purchase, so if returning you get your already spent money back. "easy money" only if you collect bottles that you've found... but that's mostly the business of poor and homeless people to get some income.
U guys seem so sweet! 😻 Is there any restrictions in Berlin when it comes to shopping and restaurants? I’m from Denmark and our government has decided to close down all the restaurants and we have to wear masks in stores 😅
Hey Nora, thank you! Yeah we pretty much have the same restrictions as you do in Denmark it seems. We have to wear masks on some busy main streets too and restaurants are only take-away. Hoping it does not last too long, I know in London things have opened a bit.
Hello!!! I love your content!!!!!, My Girlfriend and I are willing to live there for 2 months this summer... what towns or suburban areas (just outside Berlin) would you choose to live in for two months (July and August) if you want a calm, and relaxing place with great transport to the city that gives you both the freedom to be in the natural outdoors and city centre without needing a car? Thanks 😊
The Pfand comes in 3 sizes: 8 cent for most glas bottles, 15 cent for so called "mehrweg" bottles (like the 1L coke bottles, they are made of plastic but are much thicker when the normal ones) and 25 cent for plastic bottles and cans, but the rules are i bit weird and you will often find bottles that dont give pfand the biggest group i can think of are juices but there are many more. One reason for the pfand was the public waste problem in citys because people left them everythere. 🙂
Very insightful video, me and my mate are even more excited to move from London to Berlin, Hopefully. And I was just wondering if you had Instagram so you could answer some of my questions.
Hey Kelly! That is SO exciting that you are moving to Berlin in the future, it is such a cool city and very different from London, yet still manages to give big city vibes (which I love). So at the moment I'm not using Instagram, but my email is in the description and I'll respond there. Sorry!
Hey Kelly, if you are planning on moving over I strongly recommend the FB groups 'Brits + friends in Germany' and 'Brits in Berlin'. There are some things you need to plan in advance and get your head around like the mandatory health insurance with a German provider that you need to go with once you rgeister here and other boring but vital admin topics... Cheers from Berlin
... yes! even my wife folds me up because I often prepare to simply pass any deserted street at 2 am without waiting for the official permission of a green light. This is what it is like here 😅😅😅
It was really funny to listen to your opinions. Please wait until the summertime in Berlin and then i like to hear your opinion about Germans and rules. Specially in districts like Friedrichshain, Kreuzberg, Wedding or Neukölln? It would be nice to see more?
Thank you- we do really enjoy the city! I would love to experience summer in Berlin! Yes, would be so interesting to see how things change seeing as you think it is different.
@@riachannel6517 i guess Berlin has a lot to discover for you and she offer you a lot of surprises. If like some any kind of informations, tips and tricks don't be afraid to ask. 🐻☺️
Hmm, looked on the Web on one of food delivery sites, here in Riga, Latvia McDonald's "Bid Tasty" costs 4,05 Euros, one with bacon is 4,55 Euros, and double Big Tasty with bacon is 5,35, Big Mac - 3,05. Except... do you really consider McDonald's "a food"? I mean, something one would actually choose unless really hungry and with no other options. XD
Please provide a bit insight on social life in Berlin. I heard that Germans are very specific about 'NO-NOISE' policy between 10 PM to 6 AM. How much of this is true? And how much of this can be compromised for people who are night owls or like to go bit crazy during night?
Hey! Well the whole time I was living in Berlin, it was very much a different experience to a regular one (pre-covid). So most friends were not worried about the 'no-noise' policy, but about getting caught breaking the tight covid measures. I know that a lot of my friends did host many house parties before things changed though. They all got noise complaints, but it depends on the neighbours how severe the consequences are. People generally understand if you're living in a young, vibrant area, it is to be expected. Hope that helps :)
@@priyajain6791 You mainly get RUclipsrs from the south commenting about this topic. In the north it's much more relaxed. The south is catholic, the north is protestant. When i was younger we had christmas parties on boxing day in our flat with about 100 - 200 people. Yes, neighbours didn't like us, but we never had serious problems partying 'till 4 AM. Police came by and asked to be a "bit more silent" - so we did. But we did go on. Expect this behavior north of the cologne area in larger cities. Don't do this out in the country, you'll get into serious trouble.
JA, berlin is also very different from the rest of germany.... we are also called rude ^^ We are heartly, but we have our heart also on the tongue, means we are mostly honest or better, we are real.... we dont asskiss :-P
HAHA that's funny and a good heads up. I've never had an issue with the young people, but the older ones I felt were different to other German's I had previously met/experienced.
I dislike Berlin because it´s too shoddy. Litter everywhere. High crime rate. E. g. your car insurance will be more expensive than say in Munich because tzhe risk of it being stolen is higher. Parts of Berlin feel like a slum.
Loved this! Every country needs to adopt Pfand!
RIGHT!
Ladies, you're the future. You're the ones shaping the future. Make it happen!
DO IT!
aaaaand along came FUCKIT 😅
Very helpful! Comparing masters locations, thank you!

hahahhah oops
The returned glass bottles are cleaned and reused. So it is even better than recycling. Not so much for the plastic bottles.
Oh wow, I never knew that!

When I was in London with my joggers I was surprised that people looked at my twice. Do I have something on my trousers ?

Ahh so great to have someone clear that up for us. I think it is such a great strategy to help the waste issue- the UK could do with that. Thanks!

because of the pfand people also dont throw ther bottles in the garbage can, but put thm under it, so homeless have a chance to get it ;-)
I have actually noticed that, but I didn't put two and two together! Nice :)
Most people, dying while ignoring a red triffic sign, thought there is no car coming. The few others just commited suicide.
funny vlog.nice girls.
do you guys have instagram

What university are you attending in Berlin?
Hey, so, my Erasmus uni was supposed to be the Humboldt University.
Other 2 or 3 years your German will be good
hope so lol
