... this actually does make a lot of sense. The way Marty didn't even know the basics of how to operate the Evo transmission was a little bit beyond plausible even if he tried to sell it as just being a daily driver that he ignores (coulda saved a hell of a lot of money if that was the case).

As someone who had a dual clutch mitsu, what marty has is a jerky time bomb.

Depends on the year actually, I think the 2010 onwards had some improvements to the SST which fixed up a heap of the early issues.

ej255 in these though? unless it's different in Australia...

Eh, if you dont take care of it. In all 10 years of being a Subaru technician, I never once changed head gaskets on any EJ engine. I did on an EZ-36 one time, but it was running a crap dollar store tune.
The ej255 is semi closed deck just like the 257. The ej255 also has DAVCS heads. ej205 (at least usdm) doesn't have any valve control.

They did not offer that year WRX in auto. only MY01-MY09. Then add MY15 with the CVT. from 01-09 they had really sucky 4 speeds, with the 2015 having damn well as many "gears" it wants, 'cause it's a CVT.

MOOG had an 8P Audi S3 in the early years, wasn't a lot of focus on it though, modding it was far too costly for the style the show had going on at the time imo

intake , accesport 3inch exhaust , i thank thats all in terms of power and it makes 270whp and in the straights want be that mach of a difference causeod the dsg in the evo .Than coilovers wheels and tires. Thats not a ton of mods
i am fan of ankle the SST won't make that much of a difference, since it's still making about 50kW less power to the wheels than the Rexy.
a stock evo x vs a wrx modded to attempt to be better is well fair
