Also the fact that the layout, imo, is a lot easier and harder to screw up on.
I just came across your channel and I remember you from the mid-2000s on RockmanPM. Glad to see you're still out here in Mega Man world!
I love this. The gameplay may not be as challenging as the original, but it sure looks fun to play.
It's also much faster, and that's a good thing. Having to wait through the Weapon Get dialogue is lame and this game fixes that.
The SFX and Music are all great and are perhaps my favorite parts of this demake.
Oh man. OH MAN. I love when you shoot at the same time with the music. I did the same when i was playing the Wily Wars From Genesis Too! XD Anyways, good gameplay and great music!
So basically if Capcom started Mega Man in the 70's, rather than the 80's.
I can't believe I watched all this. loved every moment. good job.
RUclips has blessed me with this in my reccomendations
9:55 we must agree it fits very well, also nostalgic gameplay
That Wood Man theme sounds suspiciously like mm2wood.mid...

Whatever, all that matters is that the theme sounds pretty nice in Atari form

Imagine that Capcom made a version for the Atari and the NES Atari players would be grateful
Thank you vixinyan for making my gaming dreams come true
This is what the PC Megaman games should have been.
Oh and don't think we didn't notice you shooting to the beat of the music 😍
Damn Dr Wily be lookin good
This is cool, but honestly it's WAY more sophisticated than anything on the old Atari systems.
The main menu and the level select screen looks a lot good than Atari 2600 graphics. Maybe this fit more with Colecovision graphics
I have immense doubts that the Atari can handle the music like this, unless it used the audio expansion chip in Pitfall 2, which seems quite steep for that too. This could maybe be 7800 with the POKEY chip like Ballblazer was. Graphics, spot on though.
This would have been very impressive if it were actually released on an atari
Except for one little thing.Megaman 2 requieres at least 3 buttons to work.
O e to jump, one to shoot, and one to open the weapons.
The Atari 2600 only had one button.
And even if jump was up or something dumb like that. The game would be tough as nails without the extra weapons.Nad that kinda blows.
@@Cton9573 there's a homebrew that uses down on the joystick to shoot
@@basicallysnake Still, it would have been really annoying.
i can't believe that this is on 2600, looks better than 7800 games or at least on one level with them
Physical cartridge when? I don't even have an Atari and I would buy one just to play this on it
Never, because this is not running on an Atari 2600. It's a PC game made in GameMaker.
zazelby Rats.
Jiggles the Clown Maybe, you can find it on an emulator. I want to!
You can download the game from the link in the description. It doesn't need an emulator.
The game couldn't work on an atari because you would need 3 buttons to play and the atari controller only got 1. But, I an demake of super mario bros was done on an physical cartridge and can be play on the atari 2600 if you use an genesis controller, but only 2 button on the genesis controller would work.
Holy shit dude, I actually prefer this remixed version of Dr Wily Stage 2 WAY more over the nes version. It sounds way more menacing and serious.
Awesome job, that got me by surprise!
were you shooting along with the song in Airman's stage?
ya~ I do it any moment I can in all kinds of games~
That would have been the most technically amazing Atari game… Fantastic job whoever did this!!!
i'm aware that devs at the time definitely didn't have the resources to do this, but i wonder how it would go if a game like this came out on the atari
Boss getting hit sound in the original:Ah, it‘s nothing.
Atari demake:EtErNaL sYsTeM cRaSh!
*AIR MAN* first????
that's the order man
A real man leaves metal man at the end.
WHY NOT HEAT MAN FIRST
What do you mean by that? The entire first verse of "I Can't Defeat Airman" points out why you shouldn't beat Heat Man first- the Yoku Block segment that's nearly impossible without Item-2!
Yeah that's why
I am fascinated with the soundtracks lol
Day I lost count of quarantine: I see Atari got Mega man 2 and not DOS
Probably the best part is how faithfully this was recreated. Though there's no way this could be played on a 2600 (and the 7800 might be pushing it), it was very well done, and you're one Hell of an excellent player at this (I've never gotten to Wily in this game nor the first one - damn it Quickman!)...
Speaking of Quickman, the Quick Beams are very well done, very faithful to the original, which makes playing this for me, just as difficult, lol
But I'd rather have a faithful recreation than one that's dumbed down to fit system specs.
If this released on the Atari 2600 they would have to ship it with a special controller that has more than one button
Wow the music on Wily’s stage was pretty close to the NES version. Great video
