    Long ago, in the beautiful
    kingdom of Hyrule surrounded
    by mountains and forests...
    Legends told of an omnipotent
    and omniscient Golden Power
that resided in a hidden land.
    Many people aggressively
    sought to enter the hidden
    Golden Land...
    But no one ever returned.
One day evil power began to
    flow from the Golden Land...
    So the King commanded seven
wise men to seal the gate to
the Land of the Golden Power.
    That seal should have remained
    for all time...
    ... ...But, when these events
were obscured by the mists of
    time and became legend...
    A mysterious wizard known as
    Agahnim came to Hyrule to
release the seal. He eliminated the good King of Hyrule...
    Through evil magic, he began
    to make descendants of the
    seven wise men vanish, one
    after another.
And the time of destiny for
    Princess Zelda is drawing
    near.

I always, even as a little kid, found it awesome how the title screen's background image has no object of focus. The castle/fortress there is off to the side and it shows more of the surrounding landscape. I'd like to think that was intentional because it gives off a better sense of adventure for me.

I remember there being an early part in Final Fantasy IV where the story text was shown and the background was kinda similar. Castle off to the side with a bit of the landscape and wide open sky showing through. Kinda gives off a similar feel that you mentioned.

I just realized the other day that this sound is also used in OoT during Zelda's story of the creation of Hyrule. It plays right after the goddesses transform into the triforce.
I love how Nintendo finds ways to re--use their musical scores. Like I didn't know the opening theme of OoT was also the warp flute sound from the original.

cavegoat24 Well it's not exactly a redo, but it's called "A Link Between Worlds" and there's _tons_ of similarities so you might as well call it a redo I guess. Not really sure what else to call it.

    • @Tacheonblack
      @Tacheonblack 7 лет назад +1

While there's certainly something to be said for simple nostalgia, I think a big factor there is that the original music is very simple, so it's easier to imagine and jive with than something that sounds exactly like a live recording, if that makes any sense. I'd say that chiptune music is to symphonic pieces what books are to movies, broader and more vague, but as such leaves you with even more room to put yourself into it.

    • @LatterDayPup

With Hyrule Historia out, this shows that the game takes place in a 3rd timeline where Link from OoT lost to Ganondorf which he takes the full Triforce and became nearly unstoppable but the Sages manage to seal him into the corrupted Sacred Realm/Dark World anyway, then years later, Ganondorf, now the Demon King Ganon, amassed an army of monsters who were greedy Hyruleans looking for the Trifroce who changed in the Dark World, enough of them to wage war on Hyrule, leading to the Imprisoning War. The war would cost so much lives of the Knights of Hyrule who fought to the bitter end against Ganon's army to buy the sages enough time to seal away the monsters and Ganon back to the Dark World. The war also cost so much resources and lives that left Hyrule impoverished that became a shadow of its former glory, reduced to a small country.
