Edit: for people getting stuck on stitch counts per row, the written pattern may be wrong. Follow the first 25 minutes of this video very closely (slow it down if you gotta), and just repeat the two different types of rows until the sleeve part is long enough for you. Your final row should be dc stitches (not window stitches) and this pattern is forgiving enough to add an extra stitch or two per side to make them the same. I found a lot of my issues were when I went on auto-pilot and ended up skipping a chain in the window rows, so i would then miss a dc in the next row, making it a stitch too short in the next window row. Just add the missing window to the stitch it was supposed to end on. As long as you are careful and only do it once or twice, you should be ok.
Firstly, I need to thank you immensely for the tutorials for this-in literally every format. Thank you so much! Easy patterns for plus sizes are really hard to find, especially ones where custom fitting is as simple as adding a row or two, but this is the best pattern so far. I love how its looking so far and I am confident this will be my ultimate favorite sweater! Now, I may just be a slow crocheter, and I am making the 5X (i might make it a little bigger, idk yet) but I can say so far that this is quite a time consuming project for plus sizes. It is gorgeous and easy, I WOULD TOTALLY RECOMMEND IT FOR BEGINNERS, but one hexagon at 30 rows has taken me about 20 hours (it slowed down to a crawl of about one row per hour for me around row 25ish). If you struggle with sticking to one project, smaller sizes of this are going to be easy and quick, but larger sizes are gonna take a while.
Again though, thank you a million times for this pattern and tutorial. It was exactly what I was looking for!
I've made 4 of these so far. I'm on my 5th one for my oldest daughter. My favorite pattern.
Do you remember many balls of yarn did it took you to do one? :) I want to make this but don’t want to run out of yarn halfway through
Sorry I dont
@@bittersweet2472 if you pause the video at the 44 second mark, you will see the pattern and it shows how much yarn the patterns calls for for each size.
@@annefresia2102 Thank you!! 😗

I'm here from a rainbow cardigan tutorial :]
I've watched this video so many times, because I like the patternt so much! Whenever I think of making a sweater, I mostly choose this one, because it can be easily adjusted for a baby sweater! Thank you! God LOVES you!
I've made a bunch of these and you can make the sleeves smaller by stopping the hexagon before it is full size, then stitching the sleeve and then adding around the hexagon until the side of the sweater is the size you want. Then add your scallop or trim. They are fun to make using up a lot of left over yarn too.
Thanks for the tip! I'm glad you're enjoying making them!
Thank you for the tutorial! I just made it myself with little changes on the pattern (different cuff and treble crochet border), and I love it! Now all my family members want one 😅
I really, really appreciate you giving left handed instructions verbally or in the written form. More pattern designers need to do this, so it most appreciated.
I love Make and Do Crew and I love everything they make, but I must say thank goodness for the written pattern !!!!
I just finished my cardigan and I love it! It is so beautiful! Your video and written instructions were amazing and very easy to follow. So as I sit here in Montana with a foot of new snow and subzero temps, once spring arrives, I have a beautiful sweater to wear during the warmer temps.
Thank you for taking your time to do this for us.
Take care - Barbara
Thank you for the lefty instructions. What a beautiful cardigan.
I did this cardigan for myself and it's really cute. Thank you for making this video 😚😚😚😚😚😚😚

Thank you so much for the feedback, Kathy! I'm happy to hear that you enjoy the videos. Happy Crocheting!
Ok I have calmed down and I found it after 10 attempts. I refuse to let my dyslexia and adhd get he better if me. I love this pattern so much a and by nook and cranny I will get it done!!!!
You gave very clear directions. I like that there are no background noise or fill in music so I can concentrate on your directions. Can't wait to start! I always listen all the way through first before I start to be sure I can follow along corectly. This is very good and easy to listen to.

Thank you for this wonderful pattern. Clearly and very good explained, easy to follow the instructions. Have crocheted four of the cardigans in different colours and with different yarns. It also looks great when working with yarn cakes.

How long did it take u to finish the project
thank you for sharing this!
You explain clearly and concise. Thank you.
So happy for this tutorial! I’ve been attempting to start this project for a week and struggling with reading the patter and this is a life saver! Thanks!
I'm glad it will help!
Thank you for this video and explanation. I have two question:
1) I am making the M size, so I finished the hexagon after 24th row. Now I have 95 stitches on the rows 2-6. When I do the hexagons extension for the left part, (sides 5 and 4) for 4 rows, I end up having 104 stitches instead of 109 and tried it many times. What do you think causes this?
2) Is the number of extension rows same for all the sizes? I mean, 4 rows of hexagon extensions and 8 rows of sleeve extensions, is that it?
Thank you for sharing your talents. I love this.
Great pattern easy to follow. Sweater came out lovely. Looks so cute on my daughter

@@makedocrew1717 I just found your channel and I've been watching your different sweater patterns. They all look so nice and your teaching style is spot on at least for me. I'm in no way a beginner at crocheting BUT I am brand new to making garments, I also have never learned to read a written pattern or diagram so I'll be learning how to read the pattern along with crocheting the item with your tutorials. Thanks so much for sharing your skills with everyone and especially for making the corresponding written patterns available for free. I look forward to being able to read and execute a pattern for anything on my own. Once I feel comfortable enough reading I'll be ready to actually buy a pattern and make the item without feeling as if I've wasted my money. God bless ❤️🙏🕊️🕯️
I LOVE this design. Wish I could design like you do. Can’t wait to make this for colder weather. Love the bishop sleeves too!
Thank you so much. I feel like the process of designing things is always evolving for me. I frog A LOT of crocheting to get what you see on the blog. :)
Thank you!
Thank you very much! You are so kind!
I'm giving this a go today. It's about time I made something for myself. Thanks for the tutorial and pattern.

Many thanks.

Adorei o trabalha mas sem tradução não Dá!!! Parabéns! Lindooooooo!
I prefer this one.
Love this pattern. It’s very easy and fun. :)
Yes, it is! I hope you get to make one!
Your video is soooo well explained. It’s beautiful.
Although the written pattern is crystal clear, I just wanted to see the video to check if I’m attaching my extensions correctly. It is a job done wonderfully well! Congratulations! :)
Wow! What a nice pattern and good explaining in this video! I’ve got a question: Is there a reason why you’re alternating hook under and hook over during the making of one double crochet?
Cynthia Molenaar yes I wonder that too!
I am adding this to my list. I finished the Habitat Cardigan and it was so fun to make. I would like to know where you got your stitch markers, they are divine. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with all of us.
Maravilhosa vou fazer com certeza
Eu amei, muito lindo!!!!
thank you for this tutorial! Wonderful!!
Thank you ! 💐
Thank you for posting this video, I wonder if I can increase the front the same way you did the back. You explain very good and clear!
I always got confused on the guage, so hoping the video helps as I have the PDF. I never understood how its a J hook, but even when I went as low as a 4 mm hook, the guage was never right on the pockets -.- But i will eventually get this project
done Love this pattern so much
When I used the written instructions for this pattern I found I had to increase each of the DC rows by 2 DCs in order for the stitch count at the end of each of those DC rows to match the written instructions. Ended up doing 3 DC, CH2, 3 DC in each of the corners (only on the DC rows) to make it come out as per the written instructions. This glitch was just for the hexagon part of the pattern.
Gorgeous!!!
Thank you, Chiaretta!
Absolutely love it! ❤️
This is great. Thank you
Glad it is helpful!
When ever I count my sides I get different numbers to the pattern and cannot for the life of me find where I've gone wrong I've frogged so much but I'm determined to complete it perfectly
I use a little stitch counter, about halfway through my even rows, i count how many stitches are left to add and increase or decrease as needed right in the middle. My very last row (row 30, for a 5xl) i ended up needing to add 2 extra stitches on a couple of the sides. Be patient with yourself
If I wanted to use 3 different colors what would be the best way to split them up?
By entire round/row. Depending on the size, you can divide the amount of rows by 3 (each color). So pick your size, figure out how many rows that is (22, 24,26, 28, or 30) then add the extension rows, finally divide that number by how many times you wanna switch your color.
That will tell you how many rows to do per color switch. Good luck!
Love this so much! Thank you for the free pattern and tutorial!
Is not free 😢
Beautiful pattern...The Wife🌹🌹🌹
thank you for this amazing explanation, i really loved it. i've already made one last year and i'm making my second ^^
Aw, that makes me so happy to hear! So glad you found the tutorial helpful, and I'm glad you get to enjoy your cardigans!
@@makedocrew1717 hi there, i love the pattern but I am stuck on the extension, it says to go to 115 dc for my size but on my first dc extension I have 117 dc. My hexagon stitch count was correct, so I am at a loss... Thanks for the free pattern though :)
Por favor puede poner los subtítulos en Español? Muchas gracias y un saludo. Me encantan sus trabajos!
Will you ever do a tutorial on bigger sizes? Like 3x/4x
Mine wasn't perfect as yours but it's still beaitiful🌻🍁 I used 6 rolls of lion brand heartland cat.4 yarn.its a burnt orange color and perfect for fall. Thank u so much! I've been crocheting for 7 years and this is my first time making sweaters🙏🍁❤
