That looks badassssss!!!!! Great comprehensive review, man. The 80hz filter is what's missing from the CP5... well, along with 3 colour slots. That is amazing that you can really blend an endless number of options together. I can see that it took a long time to make this video, and it was worth it.
Hey thanks, Mark! That was so nice of you to say! And oh yes. What a wicked unit. I’m going to be picking up the DOA like you have, along with some other flavors and circle back to this beauty. Thanks again, man!
Madmartigan, so glad to see you out of your cage! Now you've really got me thinking. I've been wanting an 1173 , I've got to look into this. The only electronics I've ever built was the PC I built exclusively for my studio, and yes, that gave me quite a sense of accomplishment. Thanks for intruding me to DIYRE.
Hey Captain! Hahaha. I caught that awesome cage reference! Hahaha I’m telling you, there is no better company to begin your happily endless journey into the DIY world than DIYRE. The instructions are so amazing that I can’t even begin to impart how easy it is. I didn’t have a single question for them while I was building all of that - other than when I noticed a missing part in a bag due to an internal board version change. It was all so straight forward and well (and simply) explained. I hope you check these guys out. I want EVERYONE to feel that feeling. And for so little money! It’s crazy. Thanks for the great comment!
Gotta admit I was feeling semi-skeptical - or at least questioning my ability to hear and really care about the subtle colouration - 'til I heard it all add up in a full song mix. "Oh, yes, here's a sound I love and apparently miss in modern digitally-created music." (Ok, so I was never questioning what that tape-like preamp did to the drums, it made the snare feel less like a chisel to the temples and more like a warm slap.) Thanks for the vid!
Hey thanks! And yes indeed! Little subtleties add up and end up rounding out the sounds and creating a depth. And these little Colours do wonders getting rid of digital sharpness. I love this system. They didn’t pay me to say it, either. I just love it! Thanks for watching, as always, my friend!
@@TheRecordist Trying not to buy stuff I don’t need but other than that all good !! Learning learning learning and at 53 I’ve got a lot to learn and less time to do it loll. Still thinking about buying your favourite mic but maybe next year :-)
@@paulg3388 hahaha. I know what you mean! I’ll tell you, Paul, audio is a black hole that feels better and better to be sucked into. Hahaha. Are you talking about the Atlantis?
@@TheRecordist I am indeed !! I’ll definitely get it just too many plugins getting in the way of the Orchestral kind :-) it’s a road that will never end !!! Hope the house is all good now since the horrid flood and you’re all safe and sound.
@@TheRecordist I am totally new to this, learning day by day. I am going to record my cooking audio using condenser mic instead of a video mic , it will be connected to the camera directly so it will be easy for me while editing. So I am looking for an interface with built in preamp (I want to use the panning feature for the left and right audio separation).
@@ChefVenky oh I see. And you do no talking? I watched some of your short videos and they were really cool! If you’re going to be talking on camera while moving around and cooking, I would not recommend a large diaphragm condenser mic. But seeing how you’re doing tight shots of the food preparation, I would say that the T1 mics will do very well. An even better (and cheaper) option would be the Line Audio CM4 mics. They’re really small and sound fantastic. Hand made in Sweden. But if you already have a pair of T1 mics, those will work great also. The next thing I’d need to know is what camera you have. This will help me figure out what preamp or interface you’ll need.
@@TheRecordist right now I record my videos using an iPhone and Sennheiser MKE 400 for audio(it’s is good video mic but it produce too much self noise in a very quiet environment “it’s not suitable for my type content “), but soon will getting an black magic 4K or 6k. My future goal is to make cinematic video with pro level audio with surround sound ( by creating a rig with multiple mics in different positions ) in long format content(5 to 15 min videos) . According to me nowadays 70% to 80% people use headphones for watching videos, so audio plays more vital role in engagement in coming years. Nowadays everyone started to shoot cinematic videos that’s because of more video guides available in RUclips to do that, but not for professional audio. That’s why I like your channel, the quality of audio you create is top notch ( very quiet environment, pleasant voice, no hissing noise of microphone and sharing your knowledge in quiet pace to make everyone to understand your point ).

I know I'm missing the point, but I just can't stop thinking about the subtle Stuart MacKenzie reference.
Hahahaha. Yes! Thank you for catching that! I love Easter eggs, and I love them even more when someone catches them! Cheers, man!

can't wait to hear the 73p! loved the vid of the duo btw.
