Mike just passed away. Now all that's left is Micky. It makes me realize how old I am now. I was born in 1963 and I'm 58 years old now. Actors and Actresses are dying from shows I used to watch as a kid.
I remember when I met you at Chillertheatre.com a few years ago. Mickey and Peter were also there in another room. It was great meeting all of you. I even bought one of your sister's keys. Gave it to my daughter.
That version of Riu Chiu is on many of my playlists & your episode is one of my favourite Monkees episodes.I still have a hard time believing Davey & Peter are gone but at least they left us some great music to listen to.
I went to Peary jr high, '79 to '80, that's where I met your brother there. I met you once several years ago at your house. You're were so sweet and shook my hand. Once in awhile when I'm out that way, I run into your brother if there's a get together with our friends we went to school with. I use to watch you on the Munsters and the Monkee's when I was a little kid, I don't remember all of the episodes but I had to look you up about you being on the Monkee's. Now I'm intrigued to see you on other shows you were on! Take care out there! 😊
I liked Mickey and Davey. I always watched them as a kid. Great entertainment. I will check out the Christmas episode. I can't believe that they are not in the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame!
This was one of my favorite all time Christmas shows and I try to watch it each year at Christmas. As a kid I was so jealous of Butch because he got to run around a toy store and do cool things with the Monkees! I used to wish it was me 😂 Thank you so much for posting this. Those good memories are very important in times like these.
Awww i absolutely love this. My mom helped me to become a big fan of both The Munsters and The Monkees. I am 31 going on 32 and both just make me smile ☺
Gotta watch that one again. Big Monkees and Munsters fan here. I was a kid during that time and I would dream I was hanging out with the Monkees. A couple of weeks ago, Micky and Mike played their final show as Monkees.
At NEARLY 60 years old... to me, other Than the Munsters, "The Phantom Tollbooth" was a highlight. During the summers, I'd have younger students, and they LOVED it! They were floored when I told them who the lead was, and what you'd done.
Hey Butch. Just went and found that Christmas episode you were in and watched the whole thing. Really cool episode!! I would have given a LOT to meet all four of the monkees! Not to mention starring in an episode!! I'm a big fan of theirs and yours! Great job man! I really enjoy your channel!!👍😊
I saw Head on the big screen in Arlington Ma. back in 2018. Mickey was there to do a meet and greet and do a lecture on the movie before they ran it. He was incredibly nice and friendly and I agree with Butch he looks good for seventy-five.
i was 4 when that aired, riu chiu was pure magic to me then and no one has ever done what they did on that Christmas episode at the end bringing the whole crew Infront of the camera with them
Awesome that was my favorite tv show when I was a kid 👍🏾👍🏾 with the Monkeys, Elvis, Beatle's being played on the radio and other cool band's hopefully get to see Mickey Dollin, they came last year to Australia and New Zealand, thanks will watch this again 👍🏾👍🏾
Dear Mr.Patrick,I don't know..if you'll get this post? But..I remember seeing this show..and It did show "The Monkees"as talented, creative and sweet and kindly gentlemen..I'm sorry that I never got to meet them..Including:Mr.Jones and Mr.Tork..who sadly left us recently.
Butch, great background stuff on you and the Monkees. Mickey Dolenz did something no one else has done. He reversed Darwin's theory by going from Circus Boy to being a Monkee. Hope you start doing these videos again.
I hate to be one of "those people," but the year would have been 1967, not 1968. By Christmas of 1968, The Monkees weren't making new episodes of their TV show. That noted, this was a fun retrospective. Thanks for sharing your memories, Butch!
"magazinekitchen" thanks for pointing that out. Actually if Butch Patrick was 14 years old in that episode, he looks like he is only about 9, or at least in retrospect. I guess he was portraying a kid who is younger than his teens. . When that episode first aired (I think you say it is Christmas of 1967) I was about 8 years old. I recall seeing it, though it might have already been a re-run. It seemed to me then that "Melvin" was actually in his teens but that is because I was significantly younger at the time. Then as time went on, I looked back and remembered the episode, but exactly what "Melvin" looked like became vague. I recalled him being blond for whatever reason. But then in the 1980s when I was in my 20s there were re-runs of The Monkees on certain TV channels it was amazing to see how much of a little boy "Melvin" actually was and his features were different from what I recalled but it turned out that I was so young when I saw the episode, I had forgotten the details but now that I myself was older, about as old as the Monkees themselves were when they filmed the episode it seemed that "Melvin" could not be in his teens yet. . Also when I saw the original Christmas episode, I did not recognize that "Melvin" was Butch Patrick. When I saw it over a decade later, then it was very obvious that it was "Eddie Munster."
@@obscurelyvague I think Butch would back me up on this, but often a child actor is cast to play younger than they are, and so the actor is typically small for his or her age. I believe this is done because it' naturally easier to work with an older kid, but they want the child to still look younger.
Micky has such a beautiful voice. I melt every time I hear him.
I was born in '76, but I Love thr Monkees!
Thanx Butchy Boy! U R a Gem .you made the Stars Shine with your talents!
Great episode with a wonderful message.
You were great in that role.

I'm 59 now and feel the same way. Time is relentless.
and the Best Golden Oldies on the Radio! Vote the Monkees for the Rock'n Roll Hall Of Fame! Thank You Butch

I love the Christmas episode, but it was taken off of RUclips this year. I'll look for it for this year on other services.
I liked Mickey and Davey. I always watched them as a kid. Great entertainment.
I will check out the Christmas episode.
I can't believe that they are not in the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame!
I watched reruns of the monkees every day, when I was growing up. it was another of my favorite shows made in the 60s.
Lucas Drake- me too!

I will look for that episode. I would have never guessed that was you. Thank you for another great vlog Butch! 🦇
Search it on RUclips. I did and it came right up. I watched the whole episode. Really 😎 Cool!!

OMG !!! that was a fantastic episode haha ha … didn't realize that was you !!!! thank you for the vid and the memories !!!
I had the good fortune to see Davy Jones in a production of the musical “Oliver!” Davy played Fagin. He since has passes away, unfortunately.

That was great! I have a few Monkees collectibles and always enjoy their music!

Oh look, a Christmas episode that mentions Christ. Terrific!
Wow. It's been a LONG time since I thought about the Monkey's Christmas special. Didn't realize it was you back then. :D
Amazing

I think the Monkeys sang "Hey Hey we're the Munsters" didn't they??🤣🐒
My favorite was Peter too 😎
Danny ❤❤❤😂❤

I just want to say don't forget Mr Snyder
He was a stage prop character......
The Monks Christmas episode was first broadcast in 1967, not 1968.
Enjoyed Lidsville
Butch I just watched musters go home
Why was there a different Eddie in it
Joe
Wasn't this Christmas 1967 dear Butch?
Butch, can you visit a Steve mcqueen's tomb?
