This Prodrive built Ex Paula Cook car is now racing in the 1998 Works Honda livery in the hands of Rob Salisbury. The car was purchased in 2020 and has been restored to full working order by Aston Motorsport, it can usually be seen racing at venues across Britain in the CTCRC SuperTouring series. Thanks to Mike and Rob for giving me such close access to the car!

My favourite version of the Accord, 98 season with beautiful livery, much better looking than 99 version. Would love to see its HQ model in Assetto Corsa like the 99 version.
This Accord shape is a beautiful timeless bodyshape!! Theese with f22 Vtec and H23 non vtec is awsome engines!

I do have a lot of walk-around footage of the ZS actually. I'm just lacking on the on track footage though. It is a project I want to come back to in the future if I can.

Does anyone know what engine it is?
Of the massive array of motors Honda has, it’s probbably a manufacturer motor tweaked for competition
A 2 liter naturally aspirated 4 cylinder engine with around 300 hp, and a revlimit of 8500 rpm, all per super touring car regulations.
The car weighs 975 kgs. ( Fwd super touring car weight limit )
It’s a f series like the f20b that came in some accords and torneo’s. It has a customised head that’s flipped so the intake/throttle bodies are in the front like a k series. Lots of custom work done. Neil Brown engineering built them I believe for that race class. Really cool to read about. Made almost 300hp

The BTCC had NO VTEC? Interesting .
Because of reglements . And V-Tec is used in street legal engines to recieve a higher torque in lower revs . You can also put out 200 HP from a 2.0 engine without V-tec but than yon have low torque in lower revs because you have a low flow rate of the gasoline-air mixture . The flow rate is very important in a natural aspirated engine .
