    • @MrEsphoenix
      @MrEsphoenix 6 лет назад +65

      He looks at things objectively, allowing the viewer to come to their own conclusions with all the facts at hand. Too many journalists these days go in with a bias mindset, and twist things to push their opinions on the viewer, and it's a disgrace to journalism. Even when Louis interviews people clearly in the wrong, who do things he clearly finds distasteful, he allows them to give their side, and asks unbiased questions.
      That's why he's so good. It's far more interesting to see into the minds of these people, see how they think, and why they do the things they do. It's a perspective that you can't get when you're pushing your views to the forefront.

      I much prefer British interview shows. The interviewers allow the conversations to go where they want to, they allow the guests to speak without infuriating. I would recommend Grahm Norton as well, it’s more light hearted as well. These comedians do a great job interviewing without having to get kitschy. The only comparable US show I can think of is Hot Ones.

    As a poply person, the poly documentary and this interview is the first and only time i have found Louis really tedious. I think typically he avoids scandalous closed minded assumptions- but this is feels so narrow till. The idea that the 'women' must be friends to make the situation work. Polyamory is a huge worldwide relationship style with literally millions of people living under this umbrella. I know that he only had a small data group to learn from- but my main information I always want people to know- is that poly relationships are fundamentally exactly the same as monogamous. They are practiced differently and face different challenges and success by every individual in them.

    I've seen Louis in my local neighborhood a few times - he lives around here. One day, I was at a road crossing and saw him on the other side. I was in a damn silly mood that day indeed, and, as I crossed the road, I shouted out to him, loudly - "YO, LOUIS !!!!". He saw me, and nodded. It was the cutest thing ever. That's how you want your famous interviewers to behave. Beautiful man.

    Polyamory is *not* the same as an open relationship. Polyamory is a form of open relationship, but not every open relationship is polyamory. Open relationships are like normal relationships except a certain level of what would otherwise be called cheating is agreed to be permitted. If I'm in an open relationship I might be permitted to kiss a drunk random who approaches me in a club, but that's not the same as being in multiple full-fledged relationships, which is what polyamory is.
