Came for the rap, stayed for the conversation

Who didn't? lol
Preach
No lie
For real
She went for awkwardness and Louis went for wholesomeness.
I feel like he took it to the next level,he's the older-gent version of her lol Is he a comedian or book writer
Oh I googled him know wonder he out done her ,dudes a genuis
yh Louis is the king of awkward
very well said my friend :)
I read your "wholesome" comment, then my man said "Honky-Tonk"
I love how Louis can't do awkward. He embraces every question, every uncomfortable moment and every awkward silence in every interview he does.

I do.

Yeah.

The autotuned song has collectively done something to our brains that makes us NEVER unhear the added music
Yes
And it’s terrible because the beats are off from his flow.
yes, and that's the most beautiful thing that has ever happened to us collectivley
This man is the embodiment of "Do not kill the part of you that is cringe. Kill the part of you that cringes."
good motto
What?
Kind of a good mindset
I'm the 666th like. Hell yeah
@@matinmaleki7937 it's kinda like what the civil war was. Cringe or be cringe
Okay Louis' enthusiasm actually makes this feel like a date
Loving it
She is honestly getting boring
What the.. you got so many bots in your comments lol
@Abbie it’s cos the brothers got the mind of a pimp natural smooth talk
Honestly true
Imagine that girl wouldn’t have asked him if he remembered what he’d rapped. We would have never known. The world would be a dark place.
Not to be hipster about it but that's crazy to me because i remember the remixes of the original rap that aired. Like the world already reacted and enjoyed it. I guess it was less of the world than I realised though, and it's nice that this can bring it to new people
He repeated it on a documentary with Stormzy recently too, seems he can't escape it even if he wanted to.
@@matthewrandell5055 That show was recorded 16 years BTT (before TikTok)
Put some respect on Amelia's name
it's on one of his programs thats been out for way over a decade
You can tell she's fighting the 'act awkward' vibe and just wants to smile with him the whole time 🥰
Almost impossible to out awkward Louie Theroux
Especially when he complimented her question she had to smile lol
The rap still slaps without autotune
Absolutely!!!
Exactly
The best raps always do!
I can't unhear the autotune haha
The melody was already there 😁

2:28 He's rapping in Times New Roman with double spacing.
Her casual response to his rapping makes so much more sense now that I know her persona. No laughter just sipping a ketchup bottle. 🙌🏻
I agree, it's unbearably cringe.
@@Ian.Murray that’s the point she stays in character I love it
One of the best interviewers in the world sayin “that’s a good question” to you in an interview twice is kind of a flex.
Amelia smashed it in this one. Shame it isn't a longer video.
🤘👌
💅🏼
I didn’t see Jon Ronson or Ruby Wax just the guy who took their early work and put a Public School sheen on it
@@AmeliaDimoldenbergAmelia please can I worship your feet
Beyond the humour strangely I feel like I learnt ways to improve my social interaction from this. I love how he says "I could give you a real answer to that but it might change the mood." Such a good response when you'd prefer not to talk about something without being closed off to people. Also the how or why question is great.
❤❤
How or why instantly reminded me of psychotherapy
Yeah this dude is insanely charismatic imo.
Never talk about Jimmy Saville on a first date.
@@ComicalFlask It's gotta be him right? Surely
“Do they choose me dead or alive?” is now my favorite joke of all time 😂
I know this interview is supposed to be awkward, but strangely this is the most comfortable and upbeat I've seen Louis.
listen to his episode of off menu with ed gamble and james acaster
We're seeing the creature in his natural habitat.
man's got a lot of experience with women in awkward settings
Ur name 🗿
He’s high
He just turns awkwardness into such a natural thing it makes it impossible to actually be awkward.
Ikr 😂😂
Fr
Crazy anybody considers him awkward. I find him to be incredibly skilled as a conversationalist. Maybe this is an American perspective? Americans are NPC as hell and get uncomfortable when people don't act like sheep and say the expected platitude.
@@chungboislim2061 chill. As someone from the US I'll admit that yeah, you're right, but why are you being so ill-intentioned and negative? Why the weird bias against Americans? Why did this comment make you so salty? Its as if you have nothing better to do than complain about random things. Does everyone from your country just sit around and complain constantly instead of talking like normal people?
@@chadandersen6590 Well I guess I'm being rude because I am behind a computer and the text in front of me doesn't seem like something a human would say which makes interaction extremely detached from normal human interaction.
I initially brought up Americans as a hypothesis that maybe people find it awkward because the Brits have a different sense of humor and other nuances in how they interact. Also I can't speak as much on other countries, because I don't live in them and didn't want my accusations to exceed my experiences.
Honestly, I don't have anything better to do and am desperate for human interaction due to the last 2 years of a pandemic, and frankly being what most would call a loser. That's why I got triggered by Prettiest Baddie. Also the name is just so vein and an awkward thing to call yourself. Maybe I just want to get my thoughts out with the opportunity of being error-corrected by somebody like you who, for whatever reason, is willing to challenge the things I say.
It seems like a lot of interactions online are people complaining and that it's possible only the people having bad days are responsible for that. It's also true that I am an outlier in terms of being outspoken and amount of bad days had. It's hard to follow what exactly you mean by the last part since it seems intended to be the nail in the coffin at the end of a series of rhetorical questions meant to make me realize my own hypocrisy via the Socratic method. In the case it was not, I think the rest of what I said probably answers whatever genuine inquiry it was making.
“Well I don’t know, because people don’t always tell you” 4:09
Really funny and witty response, but also makes you think.
Yeah she was flabbergasted, really showed their difference there.

There’s no way Amelia could have prepared for Louis in this mood. The man came for pure bants.
He’s like this though when he’s not interviewing - have you heard him on Adam Buxton’s podcast? He’s genuinely so funny
He's witty asf.

It’s funny how we appear so different in different moods. Makes sense I guess but still 😄
I like how Louis been in so many uncomfortable situations in his life that this is a peace of cake for him

Totally agree, HSU. Louis clearly achieves that same state of Zen in this interview as he does when blissing out on his favourite sweet baked item. Everyone else shut up
I don’t know how she stays so composed through these, especially with Louis I would’ve been blushing wildly the entire time, he’s so lovely lmao
These two are brilliant together. Their chat on Louis Podcast as they take the piss out of each other is excellent. Two artists enjoying each other's company, humour and playing with the medium.
Just listened to that episode today and loved it!
Thank you for mentioning this podcast. I had no idea that it existed.

Louis Theroux was sort of the blueprint for this type of awkward interviewing style which disarms the subjects and gets them to be a little more authentic in their responses, so pretty cool collab!

It would have been a better joke if he said "screwdriver" or something... and nobody talks about it because you don't have to point out every little joke
Just appreciating this directional format - the fact that you can’t take your eyes away for a second or you’ll miss parts of the tension.
3:00 when she smiled at him saying she asked a good question, it was just so nice to see
When I first heard the rap in a meme I first thought it was a computer-generated text-to-speech type of thing. Now that I heard him rap, I’m glad to know it was not because of the edits or autotune, his voice is just that unique.
Exactly what I was thinking when I watch this video today!
It sounded a LOT more like the autotuned version than I could have EVER expected.

YOU ARE EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING
Glad I'm not the only one that thought it was computer doing the rapping.
I can't believe a genuine, critically acclaimed documentarian like Louis went on this. And he laughed along at Amelia's jokes too. What a nice guy Louis is.
