Whoever is watching in July of 2023 and is scared of failing. I did absolutely terrible on the parallel parking and was 4 ft away from the curb and still passed the parking phase. Everything else including driving in your lane, and complete stopping at stop signs (make sure you wait 4-5 seconds before driving again and looking all directions even your mirror) you will pass. He passed me and said “you were nervous but I’ll pass you” all I messed up on was not looking all directions in a 4 way intersection and I still passed. Don’t trip, yall got it.
@@aileen243 Don't worry lol, you got it. the only thing that will stop you from succeeding is the negative thoughts before your exam. just take a deep breath and just know you wont let it get to you. its been a while now and im accident free, and ticket free. take my word for it, you can do it, and you will do it.

Honestly guys, it’s not that bad. It just depends on the agent you have. But i will tell yall this, the parallel parking is the only thing yall should focus on, once you get out in the highway just act like you’re driving with your mom, always check your roads, lights and signs and you’ll be ok
I just passed and had no practice parallel parking or barely anything. The test is very very easy as long as you use blinkers for everything and make complete stops. It lasts about 5 minutes after you parallel park and your done! Good luck
I wouldn’t say easy. I failed two times. One time the woman said I failed because was driving too slow in the neighborhood. I’m not sure how but she also said I failed because I reversed incorrectly. She wouldn’t explain what exactly I did wrong though. I did it by the book. I passed the parallel part 3 times in a f550. Oh and she said I was driving too rough… not really sure how I’m supposed to make a f550 drive smoothly. Another time she said I failed because the last turn before you make the turn to pull back into the dmv parking lot somebody from like 200 feet away honked. Wasn’t even close to me but the woman said I automatically failed because someone honked. Ngl I was angry when she told me that because it’s a 2 hour round trip m to get to and from the dmv and that was the 2nd time I failed. So the 3rd trip I requested a different instructor and that time I passed easily. Really I think it’s outrageous how easy it is. The driving test should be harder. And they shouldn’t fail someone over nonsense. This probably why there’s so many bad drivers in Houston. I aced my written test. I scored 100. I drove to El Paso with the permit with no problem. And to this day I never received a driving ticket.

Only error was while merging, she said i didn’t look both directions (i did múltiple times) but i Guess she didn’t notice. Overall, same route and simple but anxiety Can get in the way.
For anyone wondering, the route is the same and I PASSED! examiner told me that parallel parking was perfect and I didn't move back and forth to adjust Was abit slow on the road but picked up to speed when I saw the speed limit and turns were alright but I gotta be alittle quicker 90/100
@Jacked_Spidey for me, I went 45 when entering on the main road and somewhere around 20 25 30, when entering residential neighborhoods Study your route and look at the posted speed limit since it won't be the same
Failed my test and it’s really getting to me. Got a violation for speeding, I think other then that I would of passed. I’m determined to get my license and I will.

update: passed! my instructor told me to lookout around neighborhoods in case of children playing but other than that everything was perfect and the route is exactly the same! just make sure you're constantly looking around and using your signals!
@@abigailbanuelos2472 i was told before the test to keep both hands on the wheel at all times so no but i did turn around every few seconds and used my mirrors to see! make sure you have them adjusted beforehand bc i think they can deduct points if you do it in the middle of the test.
@@abigailbanuelos2472 oh no, you’re fine! and hmmm i’m not entirely sure. honestly, i would call them beforehand to check and see if they can fix it for you because i know you HAVE to have an appointment and check in for a road test. i don’t think they’ll just “let” you take it still because they constantly have so many people in and out taking the test around the same time dont think they could just squeeze you in like that.
Oh I forgot to reply to this. It was the exact same route, but the place’s systems were down before I went in so they couldn’t process payments and everyone had to wait to take the test. Luckily that gave me time to practice parallel parking right before testing. I recommend driving around a bit the day of so that doing the actual test seems easy in comparison. I was actually more nervous than I thought and I was shaking by the time the instructor got in the passenger seat. When we were done the one thing she told me was to avoid speeding in residential areas 😅 But other than that I passed! If you’re stressed about the test, just take it from me: If someone had told me at the beginning of the year that I’d have my license by now, I would not have believed them. I’ve been terrified of driving for the longest time, but I’m slowly getting better about it and consistent practice has really helped. Good luck if you’re about to or planning on taking your test!!

I am a licensed driver in Guyana so the difference is the side of the road that is driven on (right side here....left side of the road in Guyana) and the side of the vehicle you sit in (left side here...right side in Guyana) and the location of the buttons in the vehicle. This video is helping me. I will let you know when i go to take mine. I have my permit already. Is there another fee to be paid on the date of the test?
@DATDS2 it's open to the public! Sat & sun the offices are closed so no need to worry, be there early though cause some drivers will also come by to practice aswell

Also I’ve been looking at a lot of road test videos in Texas and every vid I’ve seen, there was a lot of extra room for the parallel parking so just don’t stress over it and you’ll be just fine
10:53 I ran that stop sign in a F550 truck. In my defense it is a very tall sign and a tree is in front of it so I didn’t see it from a distance. So I wasn’t focus on looking for a stop sign. I was focus on making sure I don’t run over any animals or kids that might run out from nowhere.

Are they allowung drivers to practise on the parallel parking area?
Go there on a Saturday or Sunday. They are closed on those days, and you can head there to practice
