I'm not uderstanding how you did the center support between the hatches. Did you use 3 pieces of 1 1/2" angle? and are they notched to set on the front and rear frame?

I didn’t mount the frame to the boat it just fits in their snug used 2” self tapping stainless screws to attach wood deck to frame

No they are not notched they are riveted underneath the front and back piece running left and right does that make sense?
