@SheaWhitney What suggestions do you have to make sure that items you buy actually are the right size/ fit you well, so you don't need to return things? 🤔IF Thred Up even does returns! I don't know my sizes anymore. Sometimes I'll be a medium, others a XS (which I'm definitely not). Thank you.
@@lindajohnson4676 good question, I have returned so many clothes from Amazon using their size charts, even other sites its so hard for me to find proper fitting clothes ....out of 11 (im looking at my returns) 7 I sent back
ThredUP is not an ethical company. They pay sellers literally pennies on the dollar for brand name clothes and turn around and sell them for a huge profit. Or some of the things you send in were “lost” so you never get paid for those either. You should look up reviews on them. I will never buy or sell to this company again. I would not support this company.

To be fair to Shea. She literally links EVERYTHING. Like she’s the ONLY youtuber that really DOES link everything and not annoyingly leave certain things out that you really want to find that they’ve mentioned. I didn’t think she’d have linked the flared leggings she showed as an alternative as they weren’t exactly one of the main things. But she did. Thanks Shea. It doesn’t go unnoticed.

I don't like the periwinkle top with the tan pants. Honestly like it so much more with the black pants. Grey would be nice too.

It’s a cool color so grey or navy would be 500% better! Or coral, for a super bright contrasted look. Tan *really* doesn’t work.
I can't help but wonder if they're just coming across too peachy online, but I still prefer them over black. I think a light khaki would be really good with the periwinkle.
@@seltzermint5 Agreed! The top was also coming off weird in the video (not pixilated, but I can't think of the term) and I agree aswell with the pants coming off a little peach. I 110% agree with her on the theory and winced at the black pants with the purple top but personally, I just think they were the wrong STYLE of tan pants. Black pants were dressy and the tan were lounge style.
Thred Up is great for finding duplicates of old pieces of clothing that you own. I have this casual summer dress from H&M that is years old, that i love. I found 3 more exactly like it in other colors! ❤
I learned in the 2000s that wide leg or flare pants < leggings and skinny jeans when it's raining or snowing. I'm never going to choose style over dry pants again.
One thing you said in a video has stuck with me ever since I heard it, and has actually changed how I pick outfits.
Pair something tight, with something loose fitting. Don’t have both your shirt and pants be tight or both loose fitting. Thanks for that.
Also, the sandwich method with shoes helps me a lot too.

I think a wide leg looks great with a thick sole shoe if the pants have some weight to them, like jeans. The lightweight wide leg pants you wore could look great with a chunky platform sandal. Guazy pants and loafers is an odd combo.
The basic tee with the necklace looked good to me! All a matter of opinion I guess 🤷♀️. If the person wearing the outfit feels good… that’s all that matters
I love multiple or chunky necklaces. You’re right - this isn’t about “mistakes.” It’s all about preferences.
It didn’t look good with that boatneck neckline. I’d wear with a v neck or a scoop so the necklaces to pile up on the shirt
I feel like heavy necklacing could clash with a neckline like that particular boat neckline. I would rather do heavy necklaces with a scoop neckline or a v neckline depending. A big billowing shirt like that needs things to be more dainty around the neck if you did a necklace. A more fitted boat neckline shirt I would do with maybe a small choker but maybe that’s just me since I grew up as a teen in the late 90’s.
I heard Trinny London once say "black kills color" and it forever changed the way I dress. Black goes with any neutral but not color!

So glad the flared leg yoga pants are back! I look so much better in them than leggings and they were impossible to find for a bit
I hate leggings but the flared leg yoga pants aren’t nearly as bad. I had a few pairs back in the early 2000’s that were pretty decent and didn’t look like you have given up.

If you chose colors according to your season (Winter) and styles according to your Kibbe type (I think you’re a dramatic classic, but that is up to you to narrow down), you could really up your game and simplify your wardrobe.
Finally somebody else pointed out that neutrals are cool and warm
A complete neutral outfit with mixed different shades of warm and cool looks so dull

interesting video,,,I say wear whatever you feel good in...who cares? really, the people that will judge you on what you wear says volumes about them.. I feel for you younger ladies, so much pressure to "conform", look a certain way...and everyone looks the same...no individuality

The purple top just looks cheap. And with those unflattering beige pants adds insult to injury. I’m going to add the the purple gingham ( Gingham ANYTHING -much less purple gingham-unless you’re Judy Garland on the set of TWOO…) And it’ll be a very near future video of nixing those rubbery, lug sole beige loafers Shea…Let the beige pants keep them company at Goodwill.
My addition is not dressing for your face and body. Getting into Kitchener's Style Essences and David Kibbe's IDs were a game changer for me. :)

I have never worn leggings. Not my thing. Also, the other day I discovered how wearing a good fitting bra can TOTALLY change the look of your blouse or top. Don’t know why it took me so long to figure that out.

I still like black pants with bold red or royal or teal green as long as you add an accessory such as a long beautiful silk scarf that has both colors in it to tie them all together. Totally agree with all the rest, though!

I always enjoy these fashion videos. They’re helpful and fun to watch. My method of knowing what not to wear is putting an outfit together and simply looking in the mirror.
I can usually see if something just doesn’t look right or doesn’t feel right. I keep the fashion tips in the back of my mind but I’ve always had a good sense of what looks good on me. I recently lost 34 lbs and I can wear so many new styles now that I couldn’t wear before.
I always try to keep my age in mind and not wear things that are not appropriate. I want to look stylish but not like I’m trying too hard. I’ve been having fun this year, buying new clothes. Thanks for the helpful tips! 😊

I am thinking this is the feeling of some women I know who proudly carry the same 1-2 bags for many years. I admire that attitude! I don't spend a ton on bags but I always switch them out every couple days with my outfits and wish I could seriously just have 1-2 bags.
I think calling these instances "mistakes" is a big overstatement. I have literally two handbags - one black for winter and one brown for summer. Maybe I am making a terrible mistake pairing it with warmer or cooler tones, whatever. But who cares?? Do I need to have a designated bag for every single outfit so I accidentally don't offend anyone's sense of aesthetic? 😄
I know-I have three purses-a large tote style purse, a medium most often used purse & a small crossbody purse for when I don’t want to sit my purse down.
That's very practical and smart.
It will save you from the clutter many end up with..

Re #2 remember also to take proportion into consideration. The fitted periwinkle blue top also looks better with the neutral pants because they are looser fitting than the black pants. Wearing 2 tight or fitted pieces looks dated. Shoes should also be considered as you pointed out later.

I Wish Thread Up was available here in Australia, it sure would save me some money, I don’t think leggings will ever go out of fashion, it’s just how you style them, I mainly wear them around my home during winter because they’re comfortable and I have the thicker ones that keep me warm during the day, I don’t think Brittany would agree with you on this one as she’s always wearing leggings in her videos but I do have to admit I think she would look a lot nicer wearing something else in her videos, that’s just my opinion only but I Love Both You Girls channels and get inspiration from Both of You. Have to disagree on wide length pants and chunky loafers. Those pumps disappeared and looked wrong. The chunky loafers looked “funky” which is what that whole wide length on slim young women is supposed to do.
Those wide legs are way too casual for the loafers and even more mismatched with the heels.
The look for the pants is cool and breezy…wear sandals, strappy sandals, or a pair of sneakers.

@@Jen39xIf the wide leg pants had a different waist, like a more structured traditional non-elastic waist, the pump might fly, but it’s just to casual. I love linen pants in summer, but they require casual footwear. Thanks for your input.

In the 90s i rocked wide legs with docs or chunky boots. It's not working in 2024 😕
I was going to say the same thing. I think chunky shoes with wide legs look cool, medium/ average shoes look fine, but the little pointy ones that practically disappear look funny to me.
When people say where all beige it doesn’t have to be there exact shade, to me it’s a given that the undertones need to match though. Cool toned light beige and dark beige look nice. Of course warm toned and cool toned beige would look horrific lol 😂 I’ve personally never seen anyone try and pull that off.

Thredup seems to be great if you are a size small. God help you if you want to find larger sizes. Some of their prices are kind of crazy as well
The prices are crazy and they barely give you anything when you send good brand, new, quality stuff, they’re a total rip off.
If threadup is having a sale, the prices become much better. I wouldn't shop them without an additional discount
Shea, I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but the "less is more" concept applies to layering Cartier bracelets too. In my opinion, you would look better with just two of your Cartier bracelets of the same tone on just one wrist instead of both. I previously used to layer my white gold and yellow gold Cartier bracelets, but when I switched to the same tone, it instantly looked better. Despite what people may think, I believe it's possible to overdo layering luxury jewelry as well. Just thought I'd share my two cents as a fellow lifelong Cartier jewelry owner, but ultimately, do what makes you happy, girlfriend!

Not sure why exactly but I dropped leggings a couple of years ago. Think I was sick of seeing myself in them and this lymphatic expert Kelly Kennedy said it inhibits your lymph flow so went with looser lounge type pants :). In summer I only wear linen pants if I wear pants at all. Skirts/shorts tend to be my go-to in the heat.

Whoa at #2 - terrible color combo with the periwinkle top and tan pants. Absolutely not. White pants with the periwinkle top would've been better. Maybe gray if they're darker. Black is even acceptable (and looked far better than the tan pants, which just made the outfit look like it must've been laundry day).

You gave me so many ideas to update my clothes, I can't wear flaired leggings I'm not that short I'm 5"5 but wearing wide leg pants or leggings they are always way to long on me 🤷
I'm long legged 5'8" and still have that problem with flared leggings most times. I do not have this issue with dress pants or regular leggings and half my jeans are Talls. But flared leggings seem designed to pool on the literal ground and that is one reason I never understood them for yoga, when you are barefoot!?
I loved ThredUP when they first started. And I’ve shopped with them for years but lately their customer service is horrible and their measurements are always off. Their new final sale option is a nightmare and their descriptions are so off! It’s too frustrating to shop with them anymore and forget selling with them, it’s even worse. Too bad because they were so good in the beginning.

I remember wearing wide leg pants with pointy heels back in high school. Almost fell a million times because the heel spike gets caught in the bottom of the pants. I’m older and wiser and now know it’s chunky shoes all the way.
