Thank you! I got an oil kit and thought I'd change the plugs while I was at it and got really discouraged about that front cylinder. But now I think I can handle that.
Great video, much appreciation. Make sure and use anti-sieze especially with aluminum. I did my plugs today and ended up having to remove both sides of the plastic as the front one had so much crap and corrosion down in there I could not get the socket on there properly, I had to dig the junk out, it took a bit, but I went ahead and cleaned everything up nice since it was all apart.
Yesterday I changed my wife's can am outlander max xt 570 spark plug, I find by removing left panel too makes much easier to access the front spark plug but need to bend the muffler thin metal guard then just need to bend it back
That sounds like more work. I had absolutely no problems with just removing the right side engine panel and wheel well cover, but do what you feel comfortable with.
I'm doing this job now, it wasn't bad except for the replacement plugs I bought not having the removable cap on the top....And they were like-for-like NGK's too lol. Back to the auto parts store.
@@saulcolin9476 I looked at a parts diagram and the 450 looks exactly like the 570 minus one cylinder. With that being said, I think the process will be very similar to my 570, but you won't have to worry about changing the spark plug for the rear cylinder since you don't have one.
When you remove the opposite side panel it DOES NOT give you direct access to the cylinder because there are other parts in the way. You will see when you do this.
screw that! i will just pay the dealership to do it...lol. this reminds me of one of those types of jobs where you think its gonna be a fast easy job then it takes almost all day to do
No problem with that. Every person has a different skill level. FYI: This service took me less than 30 minutes to do from start to finish. Adjusting the shifter was quite easy to do.

Yup was the plugs...bit of a pain in the butt lol

Got a 2015 500 Max L was wondering how to get in there to do mine! Thanks!

I have made that mistake too! Congrats on completing the job!
What size of socket?
Awesome job here thanks for the tutorial i own a can am outlander 1000 xmr about to do mine now
What's that whining noise at the clutch ? , Mine does the same thing 😕🤔
Get a swivel. Use anti seize. Use dielectric grease under the boot.
Awesome. This saved me.
Hey thanks for the video. Doing mine today
Good luck!
The music at the end got me 🤣😂
What tires are those??
Maxxis Bighorn
Thank you!
thank you diy daddy
I have a 2020 Can am 450 do you think spark plugs are placed in the same spot?
The 450 is a single cylinder engine and not a twin like the 570.
DIY Dan oh good I’m glad, where would you think it’s located?
@@saulcolin9476 I looked at a parts diagram and the 450 looks exactly like the 570 minus one cylinder. With that being said, I think the process will be very similar to my 570, but you won't have to worry about changing the spark plug for the rear cylinder since you don't have one.
DIY Dan gotchaaa so it should only be the one in the front?
What type of plugs are you using?
The information you seek is in the description and in a pinned comment I made.
Good vid man
Was the socket thin walled? I found it very difficult to get mine on
I got the rear one. I'm having the same problem. Can't get the socket to go on the front one.
WHY wouldn't you just remove the opposite side panel to remove front cylinder plug??
When you remove the opposite side panel it DOES NOT give you direct access to the cylinder because there are other parts in the way. You will see when you do this.
Water in engine how to clean carburetor?
Carb? Complete disassembly, clean components, and reassemble is the only way to do it right.
How many miles or hrs did you go when this happened? I have a 2017 570 max xt
It started missing around the 200 hour mark.
Thank you for replying, i will replace mine at about 175hrs!
@@dennisgt479 No problem! Good luck!
Thanks I had the same problem
No problem
So it’s just two of them?
Great video!
Thanks!
Good job .
You should post a vid of some riding!
Sure, I can do that! I'll post some footage of me snow bogging once we get some snow on the ground.
@@DIYDanCars awesome! I would love to see it rip!
Why remove the cap ?
Because Can-Am required me to do so on my 570. If you have a 570, then you should have noticed the caps were removed from the old spark plugs as well.
Thanks
grease?\
Wasn’t better to remove the plastic on the other side?
I never tried because doing it this way was very easy to me.
quad can am 570 doesn't burn a piston
Yes, The V twin engine uses 2 spark plugs.

Shame on can am. Everything is a bitch on these. Spark plugs, oil changes, this stuff should be made easy to do. A nuisance.
I think they do this on purpose so you are stuck dealing with the tyranny of the "stealership". ;)
