Austin Correa i think so - at least for my purposes of use. Mac OS loves ram and i’m gonna be doing a lot of different stuff i.e. music production, programming, gaming with it. I want to have as much flexibility as possible, so I took 32gb because I don’t wanna ran out of memory while being productive yk

This makes me feel great about my buying decision. I've had a 2013 MacBook Pro 15" for so long that got me through an Engineering degree in college no sweat, such a good computer. I'd been holding off on upgrading because of the keyboard and thermal limitations of the Touch Bar gen, but with the 16", the MacBook again returned to the realm of "best laptop keyboard in the world", has great thermals for how thin and powerful it is, has the best laptop speakers in the world, the best laptop mic, the biggest battery. SO happy I waited until now to upgrade and managed to skip the butterfly keyboard entirely.

I've had the 16" MacBook Pro since it was released last year. I also have a windows gaming laptop since I use the Mac for work. What has really impressed me about the MacBook Pro 16" is that the gaming laptop which is much thicker and heavier does not have an advantage in CPU performance but has to sacrifice battery life and portability. The Mac is very fast but is also super portable so there is almost downside to it.
I just bought one. My 2015 13” MBP started conking out, and I couldn’t wait for Apple Silicon. I’m more impressed with the 16” than I expected. I appreciate the larger screen, and the Touch Bar is actually useful. It’s a great system.

Got one about 3 months back for a nice deal... it reduced from 2800$ - 2300$... I was thinking that I made a mistake but I can never forget the things it did for me in the last 3 months and I would not trade it for anything. I have the 2800 dollar model and I don’t think I will need a laptop for the next 6 years as my use case is not too intensive

Thanks man! I have been going back and fourth for a week between the MacBook Pro 16 and iPad Pro, after everything I would have to add on to an iPad I decided the MacBook was the only way to go. My main reason of getting this is to improve my RUclips content and switch from LumaFusion on the iPhone to Final Cut Pro X with more capabilities. I went brand new because it’s my first apple computer ever so I splurged a little, or a lot haha. Thanks again man!! Great channel and content.

Still rocking my 2012 15" mbp and loving it. Just replaced original battery which wasn't fun but not as difficult as I expected. Has a lot of the same pros you mentioned as the newer 16" mbp. I'm not gaming or video editing on it but does general productivity just fine. Amazing return on investment.
I have a MBP 16 (base model) and now I wish I can return it. It has very serious thermal issues. The computer would frequently freeze due to overheating, sometimes even right after it boots up with no apps running in the background. The CPU load would go up to a 100% easily because of overheating. In fact a lot of times it is even underperforming my 13" macbook pro. I did some research online and realized that this is actually a very common issue among all macbook pro 16 users. I know some people really love this macbook pro but I just want to tell people my experience so they know the risks.

Just got my own 16”. Being my first Mac computer as well, it’s reeeealy something man!
ted ted it definitely had a certain learning curve to get the gist of macOS. At first, I couldn’t even understand the program installation process, it literally asked me to copy the application into the Applications folder, which is a big no no on Windows for installing programs. But aside from this adjustment process, I gotta say I’m never looking back to Windows ever again, except for gaming and bootcamp, probably 😂

Yeah man I'm with you on this one. This computer is a joy to use. And I don't remember if you brought it up in this video but the battery life on this thing is insanity, charges quickly too - best laptop I've ever used, hands down

I had a 16 inch for a month, it's an amazing machine. Totally worth it, the speakers and the keyboard were probably my favorite features of it. After owning a 2015 15' MBP this was a great replacement. I was having issues with it and had to switch to a 13 inch 10th gen and can't complain at all, I enjoy its portability and its performance is as good as the 16 for what I do. Depending on your needs either option are worth and will last forever.

Thank you for posting this. My 2015 MBP just died on me (keyboard failed in the middle of a big project) and I had to make a quick move to pick up a new one. I got the i9, 16GB, 1TB, and base graphic with 4GB. It was the only open box at Best Buy and it was 2550.00. With tax, it brought me up to 2700 flat. A few days later I looked at Apple Refurbished and saw they had the same machine for $200.00 or I could upgrade to 8gb on the video card for $80.00 more. After reading some reviews I returned the Best Buy Machine and bought the Apple Refurbished- I also decided to just stick with the base video card as I haven't really heard of many people having problems with it and figured I would just put the $80.00 aside for my next upgrade. This video was pretty reassuring. Thank you for being a voice of reason! Subscribed!

I’ve always had MacBook pro’s and was in the process of choosing a new one to upgrade my old 13 inch. I gave myself a 3000 budget and ordered the MacBook 16. coincidently I had seen a review of the Mercury white razer blade. I bought one and decided to test drive it. In the end I & chose the razer over the MacBook, the gpu was better for my needs and the oled screen was beautiful and Windows has surprisingly not been bad.
to offer a few limitations. 1) no upgradeability and hence no user serviceability 2) no onsite warranty options. genius bars are cute, but a waste of time compared to have a tech visit you to fix it. if time is money for you, you want zero downtime. no let me drive across time in middle of the pandemic 3) no wifi-6, no face ID log-in.
It doesn’t thermal throttle but that’s because the fans speed up to above 5400rpms to cool it. The noise is there (and you hear it) but the biggest issue is that it pulls more power (about 120w) than what the usb-c power cable and brick and supply.
Which means, if you are stressing the computer like with Adobe programs, you will lose power as you work, EVEN IF IT’S PLUGGED IN!
This is a huge design flaw.

I just got the 13inch base model MacBook Pro, I did up the ram to 16gb and man, this thing is so much more powerful than my 2014 Mac mini that got hit my lightning , I use Davinci Resolve for muticam edits and it is all in real time for my edits, I am loving it

Love the vid and especially appreciate the straight forward "buy this computer, because it is the best you can get right now" perspective. Far too many videos on the Interwebs that take a non-committal approach to gear. It gets to be annoying. Just take a position and stand by it should be the norm, but sadly it is not. i have a mbpr16@2019 at work and a nearly max-specced 15mbpr@2014 at home. what makes macbook pro so amazing is that the 16inch offers a lot for the package even amongst its portable competitors. As for the 15 inch model, it still amazes me 6 years down the road that it still manages to power 2 ext 2k (4k?) displays + heavy appdev docker workloads. now waiting to get the max-specced final gen mbpr16 for personal use so that the subsequent 2-4 years wait for the dev scene to mature with apple silicon is bearable.

I’m still holding on to my MacBook Pro 2013 which is still running decent and it has old school function keys lol. I’m really not a fan of the Touch Bar. I hope they remove it at some point.

I just got a fully spec'd MBP 16 and received it today: i9 2.4ghz, 64GB of RAM, 5600m GPU and 1TB of storage. Beast and I know it'll last me for the next 5+ years.
refurbs are great, and believe I have gotten many items from there, but for whoever looking for the two stock configs (nothing custom ordered) check Microcenter openbox sections. They very often can beat the refurb prices, and are most of the time a few days used laptops and microcenter will typically honor any part used of the warranty so you get the whole 1 year.
If you have a MicroCenter nearby, the base model can be bought certified refurbished for $1,499. You will not find a better deal anywhere else.
Windows users shouldn't complain about macs. The Bootcamp assistant feature lets you use windows on a mac, and you can switch back to macOS whenever you want, as long as the mac is charging, and it takes like 5 minutes

I’ve been needing a upgrade so I decided to buy the i9 8 core, 5500m 8gb, 32gb ram MacBook Pro 16. I’m super happy with it. My old laptop was a base model 2015 MacBook Pro haha.
I’ll be waiting for 16” with 11th Gen Intel CPU later this year. If Apple doesn’t release I definitely buy the actual model without thinking. Thanks a lot for your video. Nice job!!!
If it ships this year, it'll probably be 10th gen. Intel isn't releasing 11th gen H processors till post CES. For the past few gens, they announce at CES and laptops with it ship after.
I would imagine this year would be the 10th gen if they were going to update it but who knows, anything can happen!

I have the 8 core i9 model. It has to be the most beautiful and most powerful laptop I have owned!!!! Love love love it.
Have been using it from couple of months and still not able to wrap my head around this machine. It heats up like it will burst anytime. Attaching external display to this makes it worse. A machine worth 2.5 Lacs( close to 3300 USD ) in India and still you get a compromised machine. Highly disappointed.
Contact Apple, inform them of your dissatisfaction with the dGPU's high power consumption, and request they allow you to return it so you can purchase a model with the 5600M. Even if you are a few months out, they may very well do this as they are aware of the issues with how the 5300 and 5500M does not play well with externals. It appears they are working with customers in this situation now. Unfortunately, the 5600M is expensive, but it is either that, buy an eGPU, or live with the noise/heat.
Ive been using mine with a 4k display for a few months and thermals and fans havent really been an issue... so far at least
High just wondering can I put a hardshell case on my MacBook Pro 13 I heard it damages the hinge, but doing some research apple official sells some that is much heavier than the light plastic one I bought. Any opinion is appreciated :)

Hello @everydaydad; I just got a iPad 8 128GB WiFi and the home button is a defect as it’s not centered; it looks like it belongs on the air 3 as the button is lower compared to a centered one on all correct iPads. Do you know if I can get a replacement or do you think it’s worth more money

I’m considering this MacBook over windows. Sticker price was a big concern however, I bought a HP laptop 3 years ago and it’s giving me so many problems. The fact that Mac’s last 8-10 years+ justifies the premium price they charge. I’m waiting on some sales to finalize then I’m buying one. Thanks for the video.

I've just bought a 16in Mac and I love it but here's a thing. When I have all the apps closed, so I'm basically doing nothing I've noticed the fans are gently running. Is this right? I never noticed this on my old 2013 Mac.

I purchased the 16” i7 base model earlier this year on a student discount as I needed the dedicated GPU for 3D modeling and CAD work. Coming from a mid 2015 MacBook Air, I couldn’t have been happier with the upgrade!
Sure, it costs quite a lot compared to some of the windows equivalents; and sure, most of the software I use runs on windows. However, at least in my country, there aren’t any laptops at that price range that I can buy locally which offer everything that the MacBook does (built quality, form factor, battery life, gpu and cpu, screen resolution, longevity)
If you can get past the price, it’s definitely a worthy investment which should last quite a long time.
