For most coding jobs, the reasoning and determination used to study for the interview is more indicative of being good for the job than being able to come up with the solution completely on your own quickly. Building on existing infrastructure is far more important for innovation too

My boyfriend also has ADHD and we constantly have to re-motivate ourselves to continue learning, he took various medications as a kid but didn't like how he felt on them and stopped. It's so refreshing to hear you succeed, congratulations and good luck on your internship! As for location, you can always move, you will learn more about yourself and what you like in either location.

I'm currently transitioning out of the Army and I'm currently working on being a web developer/ blockchain developer. I plan on moving back to home which is Indiana. My question is my home isn't a big city like NYC, Dallas, or any of that, but decent I guess. I'm just wondering to make big money, moving to big cities like that is that the only way to make the big buck. Like of course 6 figures but im saying like $300,000k a year type money. Does big cities matter??

Im a 1st year in software engineering and as far as I know, you will always have to sacrifice grades if u want to get a job. Our teachers warned us in the beginning of the year that a lot of ppl fall into this temptation and told us to not do that. Not sure I really like that advice but I mean ofc uni wants to be top priority while you're there. But as some other comments have mentioned, good jobs on portfolio mean much more than good grades so congrats. I'm personally scared to let my grades drop but we'll see since I still have 3,5 years left.
Downtown LA and New York are similar as far them both being bustling cities. However, it will be a lot easier to get around NY by public transport. LA is a nightmare as far as commuting.
Hey congratulations, it is REALLY amazing that you got a job that good. I am speaking as someone that knows absolutely nothing about working, but I think you should pick the LA office. Why? Because it looks cooler and if it is smaller it means less people and less people means less chances of someone replacing you in your job

The sacrifice you made on your grades is definitely worth it, because an internship at a huge tech company like facebook is going to accelerate your early career. all the learning you're going to do on the job will probably also end up making your studies easier due to all the experience. so it's a win win all around!

Dude I just did a technical interview for a Mechanical Engineering position and they are so much easier then these coding interviews. In all the interviews I've done where technical questions are asked, you generally only need understand basic theory and recall basic equations in order to solve the problems. In regards to your job with FB, I recommend moving to the location where COVID restrictions effect the work flow less. It's fresturating to have things change every few weeks like what has been happening at my work.
Update, the technical interview that I just did was apparently only a phone screening to see if they wanted to give me a much harder in person technical interview. I thought it was going to be a more standard follow up interview but then I spent 2.5 hours at a white board solving Fluids and Dynamics problems. Most stressful interview of my life.

Note: Don't try this at home! Doing it at the cost of fail exams is not that great when there isn't any other back up nor insurance for that. Hence if you really want to do it and that badly, try suspending your studies... Had encounters with my team mates cannot cope with studies ends up being a burden to the team...

I have been working for 4 months for like free. (reimbursement of bus expenses, and that's it) yes in italy is legally this type of intership (they tell you "for learning")

Dude I just did a technical interview for a Mechanical Engineering position and they are so much easier then these coding interviews. In all the interviews I've done where technical questions are asked, you generally only need understand basic theory and recall basic equations in order to solve the problems. In regards to your job with FB, I recommend moving to the location where COVID restrictions effect the work flow less. It's fresturating to have things change every few weeks like what has been happening at my work.
Update, the technical interview that I just did was apparently only a phone screening to see if they wanted to give me a much harder in person technical interview. I thought it was going to be a more standard follow up interview but then I spent 2.5 hours at a white board solving Fluids and Dynamics problems. Most stressful interview of my life.

Note: Don't try this at home! Doing it at the cost of fail exams is not that great when there isn't any other back up nor insurance for that.
Hence if you really want to do it and that badly, try suspending your studies...
Had encounters with my team mates cannot cope with studies ends up being a burden to the team...
I mean the experience would legit help land a job than wasting time studying and waiting to get degree it just seems more faster way to land job and guarantee to some extent too.
