      @@miles6593 ohhh Miles, thanks for the comment ... unfortunately, I never had a chance to hear the bagpipes live. It is an instrument that gives one sound and thousands of tones.
      Paul McCartney presented it fantastically in the song Mull of Kintyre. I am especially glad that Canadians keep the Scottish tradition. I hope to have the opportunity to hear bagpipes and drums live, because ... my son lives in beautiful Canada in Toronto ... What luck ... !!! Peace and good health to you Miles...

      @@TheSophie10001000
      You are welcome , Danka . Your comment exuded enthusiasm for the song and for the pipes .
      Indeed , the Scottish tradition and the Irish tradition of bagpipe music lives strong in Canada .
      McCartney's " Mull of Kintyre " increased the popularity of the pipe music ever more in Canada
      and around the world . The Campbelltown Pipe Band ( who played on the song ) did a great job
      and deserve a lot of credit and praise for helping McCartney to make the song what it is .
      That would be ideal if you could see your son in Toronto . Once you are in Toronto ,
      it's not too difficult to hear some live bagpipes and drums . Usually in Toronto ( or elsewhere in Canada ) ,
      the pipe bands perform live in public ... during a parade or at a military tattoo or at The Highland Games
      or sometimes at a funeral ... and these performances usually occur outdoors because the bagpipes are loud instruments .
      If you visit Canada during the winter time , then it would probably be difficult to see a pipe band ;
      however , I have seen pipers play in Christmas parades on a few occasions . The Christmas parades
      usually occur in the month of November here in Canada so that the parade people are less likely to freeze .
      If , by chance , you have difficulty finding a piper band in a parade , at a tattoo , or at a Highland Games ...
      then you could visit the rehearsal hall of a piper band like at a local military regiment .
      If you were to politely ask the practising pipers if you could sit in for few a few minutes to listen to them ,
      then I am certain they would accommodate your request and interest ; especially if you were to tell them
      that you are visiting from Serbia and love the bagpipes . One of the reasons , Danka , I asked you if you ever
      get a chance to see and hear piper bands perform in Serbia is because my father ( who used to be piper )
      told me that the bagpipes had originated in the Middle East over two thousand years ago
      and the bagpipes had migrated through Greece and Macedonia and to the Celts in central Europe
      before they were used in Ireland . My father ( who played the Scottish Highland type of bagpipe music )
      told me that the bagpipes had migrated to Scotland by way of Ireland when the country " Dal Riata "
      still existed back in the 8th Century . Following the path of migration I have described ,
      Serbia would be on that path in between Greece and Macedonia and central Europe .
      I did not know if the Serbs had their own type of bagpipe instrument and bagpipe music or not ;
      so , that is why I asked you the question . You never know .... maybe , there are some Serbian bagpipers
      playing somewhere up in the Serbian mountains ?
      Incidentally , in case you are not aware , Paul produced a video on his RUclips channel
      wherein he appears in the video to tell the story about how the song " Mull of Kintyre " came together .
      The RUclips video is a " 360-degree video " . You can move the video around with your cursor
      in order to view the video from different camera angles and to see other photos .

      @@miles6593 yes .... Meles !!! My grandfather, who was born in the mountains (now the state of Montenegro, and before that it was Yugoslavia, where Macedonia, Croatia was ...) told me that bagpipes are a Serbian instrument ... at that time I was not interested, because I was little, but in 1977 (as a teenager, who loved Rock and roll) I first heard this song ... and ... Wow !!! What is this? Yes, that's it!
      Bagpipes! As I listen to Scottish bagpipes and drums, I feel as if I have touched the top of the world !!! My dream is to hear everything live. I’m sure I’ll have a chance coming to Canada, and my son just lives near the police station and ... (hahahaha, my son will think I’m crazy) I would beg them to help me hear the Scottish bagpipes. I would be very grateful to them, really, from the bottom of my heart! Ohhh ... Miles, I would have a lot to write to you, but ... my English is bad (help me a lot translate), but we totally understand each other, I'm sure. I wish you peace and good health.

      Ah , there might be some Serbian pipers in the Serbian mountains playing Serbian bagpipes ...
      as your grandfather said . It would not surprize me . The mountains are fairly high in Serbia ;
      so , maybe the Scottish Highlanders can hear the Serbian bagpipes across Europe ?
      My father was a bagpiper who would play the pipes on the beach .
      He loved to play " Mull of Kintyre " on the pipes and I would play it on the guitar .
      My grandmother was a Scottish Highlands dancer and would join in as well .
      It became a tradition down at our cottage on Lake Erie ... and the neighbours
      looked forward to joining in as well . The neighbours knew we had arrived at our cottage
      because they would see and hear my father walking along the beach in his kilt playing the bagpipes .
      The Scottish flags flew at many of the cottages along the beaches of Lake Erie .
      By the way , your English writing is excellent . Your diction , grammar , and spelling
      are better than most English-born speakers I know . Peace always .

      Yes..my Aunt in Chicago bought the tickets for HER kids but they didn't want to go..so she offered it to my older sister (her Godchild) & I was so lucky I got to go along.. although my older brother wanted to go too..but my whole family we're HUGE Beatle fans at the time..we always had music playing and singing along.. I'm originally from Iowa & my Dad drove us up..he didn't mind he WAS a huge Chicago Cubs fan so can't remember if he was able to catch a game then..my mind was set on going to see The Beatles..remember when John Lennon walked on the stage and he was just looking around the stage in the amphitheatre..and he turned around and looked up in our area in the box seats..I was so happy.. LOL..gosh I absolutely love them then and now..can never get enough of their music..sorry rambling on & on...💞💕

      No apologies required , Bette . Your enthusiasm is infectious ... and that type of infection beats out
      the pandemic type of infection which has been pervading our lives these days .
      Lennon always had his chin up and he was always casing the joint ( so-to-speak ) to keep aware of his surroundings .
      It's wonderful that your memory of that event is so clear from such an early age .
      Do you remember any of the songs they played at your first rock 'n roll concert ? Is there one or two which stick out for you ?
      They did so many concerts after they arrived in the U.S. but then by the end of 1966 , they disappeared into the studio .
      People didn't see too much of them in the flesh after Candlestick Park . They started to crank out the masterpieces .
      It has been a joy discoursing with you . Peace .

      What you have heard chuck davey is not true ; Paul has performed the song live in other countries .
      Some of those other countries have been correctly pointed out by alex and Sticks-of-TLC .
      ( Sorry for the re-spelling of your username ; but what is good about TNT ? ) So ; allow me to set the record straight .
      I will give the list of cities where Paul has performed " Mull of Kintyre " in front of a live audience since 1979 .
      I cannot say with certainty that this is the complete list . There may be one or two cities of which I am not aware .
      In some cities ( like Toronto and Glasgow ) , Paul has performed the song more than once since 1979 .
      Since the Wings U.K. Tour of late 1979 , McCartney has only performed " Mull of Kintyre "
      on rare occasions to live audiences in the following cities : Glasgow in Scotland ;
      Toronto , Edmonton , Halifax , Ottawa in Canada ; London and Liverpool in England ;
      Auckland in New Zealand ; and
      Perth , Brisbane , Melbourne , and Sidney in Australia .
      Interestingly , Paul has never performed the song in The United States ; but , maybe , one day ?
      There is a large diaspora of Scottish Gaelic people , Lowland Scots people , and English-Scottish people living in the U.S.
      among whom would want to sing along with Macca like a heavenly choir of the life and the times of the Mull of Kintyre .
      Paul would have no problem finding a piper band in the U.S. to play the pipes and drums for him .
      There are lots of good piper bands in the U.S. Slàinte mhath dhut . Peace and good health to you ... Miles .

      There are so many ways for a songwriter , musician , and recording artist to contribute to the music industry .
      Paul's last two albums show how a man in his mid-seventies can cope extraordinarily well with senescence .
