Dr. Joe DeMarco, chiropractor and owner of OcraMed Health, discusses the serratus anterior muscles and demonstrates how to develop and strengthen it.
The serratus anterior originates from the 1st to 8th (or 9th) rib and attaches to the anterior medial border of the scapula. When contracted, the serratus anterior protracts the scapula.
It is an important muscle to exercise, not only because the muscle looks great when developed, but also because the serratus anterior helps stabilize the scapula and prevent/fix scapula winging.
In today's video, I demonstrate 2 of my favorite serratus anterior exercises. These exercises are simple and very effective. They only require an exercise band to perform.
Give these serratus anterior exercises a try. Leave me a comment in the comment section down below and let me know how it works for you.

Doc, does the top part of the pushup works the Serratus? that is, pushing further away and arching the back , similar to a cat.
