I think the absolute craziness all of this happening within the span of such a short amount of time is only beatable by what happened with Square-1 at Northeast Championships 2022. 3 world records, 2 NARs (which were both 4.45, same solution and done at almost the exact same time) and the world record average was beaten by over a full second (6.06 to 5.02, an average that was way ahead of it’s time and is one of the most impressive world records ever) Huge congrats to Zayn on finally getting sub-1, which was also almost sub-0.9 (and easily could’ve been without the count 1) it’s fantastic to see him finally get this after years of being within .1 of one of the largest barriers in all of cubing.
And Yiheng just got a 0.8 2x2 ao5 at home which he didn't do his normal jumping celebration to meaning this is far from his actual pb. Also 3.79 stackmatted 3x3 ao5 which is insane because Kyle Santucci's sub 4 keyboard ao5 was ahead of its time, and now we have a casual sub 4 ao5 that is getting into the mid 3 territory on stackmat. I mean it doesn't get much better than this. I think Matty still held the previous YTWB (4.39 stackmat ao5), so in comparison, the closest stackmat ao5 to the 3.79 (if I'm not forgetting someone else) is 0.6 seconds away from Yiheng. Truly unbelievable. Edit: I just realized if you take his YTPBs for 2x2 and 3x3 ao5 and add them up, you get 4.59, which if you erased his current 3x3 ao5s, that means he still has over a quarter of a second to spare for the previous 4.86 tied WR averages by Tymon and Max. Meaning that if he had a really good transition time between 3x3 and 2x2, he could have a 3x3 and 2x2 relay ao5 that would break those WRs. Like can we please nerf this kid!?!?

This was actually crazy. Im the first person who started celebrating when it comes to the reaction from everyone else. I was sitting in the waiting area just watching him solve because i was nervous for him. When i saw him slam the cube down i started celebrating instantly because i knew he was going to get it.

It’s crazy how much clock had advanced recently. Especially since 7 simul, sub 3 is possible soon. Even sub 2 singles. Insane.
The biggest reason for the sudden leap in clock records is the new regs that make it so you can now push pins in inspection.

(3 months later) yiheng gets 0.78 average, beats wr by 0.14s. this is actualy crazy. its like getting a 3.9 average in comp
its even crazier, because if we calculate the rule of three we get a 3.69 average
