    Perfect timing! I’ve been examining my very large monstera for quite some time now, I wanted to give my grandma a cutting for the longest but had no clue where to cut without making my plant look crazy haha this was very helpful!

    Techplant recently did an experiment to see whether changing the water is actually beneficial, you should check it out! :) (I was surprised with the results)

    Echoing others, this is amazing timing. I recently bought a Monstera cutting from someone, and although it’s only been a little over 2 weeks, I was just scratching my head today (figuratively) and wondering when I should expect to see any growth. BTW, I just discovered your channel last night, and I’m a fan.

    Did you know that you should always take cuttings from a watered plant not a thirsty one for better success at propagation ??!!

      Hahahaha ok ok I get it 👍 😆 just as long as you know!
      I legit chopped my whole monstera up and now have 3 monsteras just growing in water 💧 going to leave them in water & move the one I cut up outside. I'm not far from you in jersey and I'm so over the cold just give me spring I can't wait to put a lot of my plants outside for the summer. You have a nice big deck are you planning on putting some plants outside too this summer?!

    Your monstera is gorgeous!!! 😍😍😍 but how is the light situation here? I can’t see a window so how is she growing so big at that location 🥹🥹

    Beautiful plant! You do know that aerial root would have converted to soil root had you planted it into soil?

    The absolute best timing! My $5 grocery monstera is now at the point where he’s ready for a chop and prop so I can have multiple plants 🤗
    Thanks for these tips!
    *edit to ask* I have an aerial root that’s rooted back into the pot - do you think I should still put that stem end in water to prop or just plunk it into the soil and completely bury the aerial? Thx!

    • @GoodandPlanty
      @GoodandPlanty  2 года назад

      aerial roots can totally grow back into the soil! i just wouldn’t recommend it for established aerial roots that are already growing out of the pot for a long time

    hey, I am not sure about the differences, but isn't this a borsigiana? I just heard kaylee ellen talk about how they are not the same..

    • @jasbelial3943
      @jasbelial3943 3 месяца назад

      Either that or this plant is just not mature enough to see a difference - It is also super leggy which means it is not receiving enough light so the growth is just not there. So yeah…

    How do I plant a cutting with 4-4-1/2 foot aerial roots? Is it OK to chop the roots?

  • @evalink2901
    @evalink2901 2 года назад

    So it's preferable to make a cutting from a mature leaf?

  • @manderstemple
    @manderstemple 2 года назад

    I always worry about top nodes like that. I have a hard time rooting them when they don’t have stem on the other side.

  • @WholesaleTurbos

    Eh, I'm looking for info on large, as in stem is about 3"
