The cinematic and music combined with the piano playing when Master Chief was climbing the floor of the cargo bay to get back to Cortana is just breath-taking. Every time that I watch that part, I always tear up alot. Wow, thats all you can say.

He faces almost certain death w/o hesitation, and when it's over, he just says, "it's finished" then goes to sleep so that he can one day return to duty. The only action in all of John's life as a Spartan that isn't about him fighting for humanity, is when he says "wake me... when you need me." It's pretty touching in a subtle way.
This is what really happened: The ship which the Master Chief and the Arbiter were on had escaped and were heading away from Halo. The Arbiter made a slipspace jump but it collapsed on itself and only part of the ship went through. The Arbiter made it through, but the Chief didn't, so the others thought he died. It turns out the Chief did live, and Cortana makes a beacon, but it would take years for anyone to find them, so the Chief freezes himself.
Man! I just LOVE this, so perfect, so beautiful! Great ending. I get so sad every time I watch it! LOL You left out the ledgendary ending, but no biggie. ;) There will be more Halo..."Halo Wars" and the Bungie/Peter Jackson thingy. Plus, I bet the Movie studios will soon be back on board for the movie. Halo 3 made too much money and was too big for them to pass it up. There will not be. This is the ending of the "Masterchief" trilogy (tri=three, not four). On another note, that's all it is, the ending of this particular trilogy. There could be another game that would take place in the Halo universe, although I doubt it would star our beloved Spartan =[
@th3MUTT what he meant was that "Spartans never die, they are just missing in action" Which basically means that Spartans killed in battle live on in humanity as a whole. Without Noble 6, there would be no Cortana and thus, the Chief would likely not have saved humanity, he died but his death kinda directly resulted in the survival of the human race. So he didn't really die in battle, he gave his life to the people he saved. Just like the forerunners, who died when they used the Halos for us
Its a good finish to a great series. The hero didn't die the plot was resolved. It kind of feels like it came full circle too, since the beginning of halo was you waking up from a cryo tube and being thrown into the war.
Completed this earlier, good game, good ending. The graphics could have been a lil' better..But the lightning was pretty good, I can see a new Halo 4 maybe..But maybe not called Halo 4 Good quality, thanks for uploading!

They're heading to a teleporter thing with the ship. Arbiter is in the cockpit, in the front half of the ship, Chief and Cortana are in the back half, in the hangar. The front half of the ship makes it throught the teleporter thing, but the teleporter collapses before the back half makes it through. Thats why Cortana says "We just barely made it through, well, some of us anyway." or something.

its almost impossible to believe that the main storyline is over, it can't just end with him going into cryogenic stasis (deep sleep, long time), i got a gut feeling that its gonna continue..
If this video had the extra legendary cut scene after this one, then you would see their half-ship floating towards an unidentified planet of some sorts, pretty much setting up future games including Master Chief.

and for those who don't have the game but want to know,you see the ship drifting towards a planet, that looks kinda like the death star. my guess is its the sphere.refered to on several of the terminals on halo 3.forerunner homewolrd?perhaps.one of the terminals covers the final battle between thde forerunner & flood fleets, it states that several flood ships break off to try and gain a foot hold on the sphere.

didn't think the campaign was that good but i thought they did good with the ending, reminded me of the 1st halo, they did a pretty good job wrapping up the story towards the end especially with the hidden cliff hanger on legendary
I meant the imagery, ODST16. The first time we see Master Chief is when he is being awoken from cryosleep. The last time we see him (as in the video clip here), he goes into cryosleep. That image is full circle.
You aren't always meant to know what the hero looks like. I like the way the series ended. The mystery of what MC looked like will always remain that...a mystery.
And if you've ever read the novel series Malckeor, the Forerunner Sheild world named Onyx is where the Forerunners would run and hide if all of the Halo's were activated at the same time. The planet is basicaly jungle on the top, but a Sentinel manufacturing factory on the inside. If the Halo's were ever activate, the Sentinels would cover the planet in a sort of "bubble," and take the blastwave, saving the surviving Forerunner inhabitants.
they said there were only going to be three halo games...but with this ending a see a fourth coming on in a few years because he said wake me when you need me...maybe they'll need him again...hopefully anyway.

Everyone on earth assumes they are dead because they haven't come back but really, they are stranded in space. Master Chief goes into cryogenic sleep at the end telling Cortana to "Wake him when she needs him." So they are still alive.
When the portal closed, one half of the ship made it to earth which contained arbiter, and the other half containing spartin was left floating in space.And the blue light in the extended part i think is another halo....hope bungie decides to make a 4th.
Though we would like a continue, it is not possible as many said. But, i heard that there is a movie with halo coming out in January of 2009... We will always remember you Chief. Find peace in our hearts...
There is a special five or ten second addition to the cutscene if you beat the game on Legendary and I don't think it would be leaving it for the movie, because that's pretty much in the air right now.
You know what people, I think we saw a picture of the MC on the memorial. Just below 117 is his rank, Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy and just the right is a picture of some dude with what looks like the same signia on his arm.....it just might be him!

The head of Bungie recently said that Microsoft would probably be doing more in the Halo universe, and there's at least a chance that Bungie could be involved in it as well (since they're an independant company again.)
