Big thank you to Tessa for sharing her knowledge! I had never heard about the issue she mentioned with lash growth serums, so I double-checked it with a couple dermatologists and it’s TRUE. It’s not a concern for everyone but if you have deep set eyes, you might want to consider skipping lash serums with the ingredient she mentioned.
Hi Susan! what do you think about the use of the three step cleanse in her routine? For acne prone skin I have been using an oil base cleanser (Banila) and a CeraVe gel cleanse, but would the cleansing balm be clogging the pores? Also, if you can have recommendations for new face masks and body skin routines would be amazing! P.s. thank you so much for putting Naturium on Amazon because I am able to buy it in New Zealand!
This video was amazing. As a rosacea sufferer with normal skin, I never really get to hear people talk about rosacea in general, let alone from a perspective thats not related to uber hydrating products with paraffin, suitable anti-aging for rosacea etc., its just sooooo finnicky. This video was beyond a pleasant surprise for me! My god!
@@Ciel_DJ that's what I think! I can understand the double cleansing but the way she did it, was too much. It made her skin look very sensitive and turn red.
@@Ciel_DJ you want the redness this means blood circulation is coming to the cheeks which make your products absorb better . It’s not redness as in when putting something on your face that causes a reaction . That’s why she says she cleanses for atleast w minute . It’s to Increase blood circulation .
Remember that skincare is subjective and not everything will work for everyone. Some love oil cleansing and others don’t. I love Tess and her knowledge & recommendations!
Yes! I used oil cleansers as a first step for about 5 months with no issues, but now I've stopped. I *adore* a cream cleanser, though! It's still silky feeling but won't leave a residue.
I’m super oily and acne prone and I’ve never had a problem with my cleansing balms, I use the Green Clean or Elemis. I even use the Elemis cleansing balm as a leave on mask when I’m having a breakout, actually clears my skin. But we’re all different!
Omg I HATE that feeling of water dripping down my arms when I use my foreo! But a tip that really helps is to wear old scrunchies on your wrists! They kinda trap the water and stop it from dripping all the way down👍🏻👌🏻
I feel like her reasoning against an oil cleanse doesn't make sense. An oil cleanser is not just an oil, it has emulsive ingredients added for the exact purpose of the oil not leaving residue on the skin. If someone properly emulsifies the oil cleanser before going in with the 2nd cleanse, there shouldn't be any residue left. Of course, a badly formulated oil cleanser could end up not emulsifying properly, but find a good product and I feel like her reasoning doesn't hold.
Renee rouleau has a great article that breaks it down, she explains much better than I! However the simplified version is that a water based cleanser cannot fully cut an oil, despite emulsifiers. Meaning some is likely to stay on your skin-that smooth, soft conditioned feeling is actually a light film. To me, it makes the most sense to use an oil (with the largest molecule) LAST in the routine. Changing that makes a big difference especially for my acne prone clients. To me, it doesn’t make sense for someone oily to rub oil on their face. But I absolutely am aware it’s an unpopular opinion and that’s okay :) I’m glad you have a routine that works for you! That’s really all us esties want- for our clients to listen to their skin and use what their skin is responding to! There’s room for two perspectives 🤍🤍🤍

Cleansing oil is different than a topical oil. It binds to the oil in our skin and contains surfactants so that it can pull away sebum, oil based products from our pores and not leave a residue. Some can but most don't. In fact I'd say not using one makes it hard to remove the oils from our skin because the water cleansers don't bind to oil so our topicals won't soak in well. However in a micellar water like she used, it contains oil that is binded to water so the oil in that cleanser is attaching to the oil on our skin and clearing it away. But there is a huge difference between an oil cleanser and a oil serum or topical product.

Haha I understand! a Foreo is actually not true exfoliation, and the jojoba beads in the mask are very soft. This is more of an at home mini facial treatment- such as what you would receive in a facial! Skin is more resilient than we think :)
I enjoyed the routine and advice I just don’t like when products are used that you can only get through a professionals since not everyone has access to these products. Alternatives would be nice!
I think that’s kind of the point. There’s a lot of marketing and pushing of products in these videos. She’s only participating to promote her forthcoming skincare line...
If you hate water dripping down your arms at the sink when you wash your face, all you need is a pair of scrunchies. Put one on each wrist and it will catch the drips and keep your arms dry.
Everyone is saying good things about the GlyMed line, so I'll have to look into this further BUT I am always so hesitant when estheticians (and it's almost always estheticians rather than derms) recommend a pricier product and say that it's a "professional line" and "only available through..." (or god forbid it's a "medical-grade" product). But would love others' thoughts of this as well.
I can't help but hear as the point to this video is choose/ buy the " cream cleanser" over Oil Cleansing, because this cream cleanser you see being used that is exclusive to estheticians only to try sell to any new potential client's is better and more effective. It's very expensive too 🙄💸 .
professional products usually have a higher concentration of Ingredients which is why it’s exclusive to estheticians but every professional line has a retail lines . It’s the same concept as prescriptions only being able to be dispensed by doctors because of the active ingredients etc . Usually professional products tend to be better and unfortunately the cost usually is more expensive but again this is due to the concentration of the ingredients in the products and a high quality of those ingredients . BUT I will be transparent even as an esthetician not everything that’s extremely expensive is always better . You can always find a almost comparable most cost effective but you won’t see the same results atleast not as quickly as professional products .
@@brandybeautyx3 Agreed! I think the majority of us skincare savvies are onto many inexpensive alternatives / dupes these days which is just great. Also peeps making their own 🙌

I think my face would fall off from the amount of exfoliation in her skincare
Haha I understand! a Foreo is actually not true exfoliation, and the jojoba beads in the mask are very soft. This is more of an at home mini facial treatment- such as what you would receive in a facial! Skin is more resilient than we think :)
Beautiful skin!
YAY Tess!!! ❤️💖❤️
Do you think the anti aging part of Luna is worth it?
hydrating cleansers for life :)
I also triple cleanse. I feel like my skin is too thick or something 😭
okay but whats that pink thing shes using at 5:25
I enjoyed the routine and advice I just don’t like when products are used that you can only get through a professionals since not everyone has access to these products.
Lol, I need to change so much about my skincare routine!!! Ahhh
I do hate when water rushes down my arm into my sleeves!!
Hello there 😊
She's so Pretty ♥️
Also peeps making their own 🙌
I also hate washing my face at the sink, its so much easier to wash my face in the shower!
Guys get ready, Little Mix feat Saweetie droppin Confetti this Friday 30/04 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
better oil cleansers have good emulsifiers so they don't leave any residue behind. Also a 60sec cleansing time is not suitable for sensitive skin. Double cleanse cuts down cleansing time, while cleanses effectively.
If I’m wrong I’m sorry, but it looks like she uses a smoothing filter on her camera.
Hahah no smoothing filter. literally just me filming on my canon g7x and sending the footage in!
@@TessZolly thanks for clearing :)
Don’t think so. She just has stunning skin. I had to take a closer look too because her skin is so perfect that it looks blurred
@@Princessbubblegum567 I was confused because I watch on a 65 inch tv and usually I see every pore
Not commenting the knowledge and routine this lady has nice type of beauty.
Put scrunches on your wrists and water won’t run down your arms when cleansing 😀
When I saw her cheek skin getting red I stoped the video
Weird that she cleanses for SO long but does not get under her nose! Was it cut out or something?
If you have a pimple never ever touch it! Cover it and forget it. Seriously!
Hope rosacea peeps don’t do all the rubbing she did. She kept bringing up this condition hopefully ppl with actual problems don’t do all that
❤️❤️❤️
The amount of time I had to skip while she was cleansing is insane ! So she she said 60 seconds we get it , why do we have to watch her double cleanse for that amount of time , there’s something called editing .
I know she’s talking, but she is completely avoiding the bottom of her nose creases and upper lip and I can’t pay attention to anything else 😅
Lash serums darken the iris? 🙄 come on...
Lol it's literally listed as a side effect. Shes talking about FDA approved repurposed glaucoma medication like Latisse. If you're using a vitamin/peptide one you will be fine.
It’s true
Cotton Wristbands!
is the solution to wet forearms from face washing at the sink
I repurpose old sock tops for this task
is it just me.. why is she cleansing and forgetting the area above her lips. rubbing for a full minute and not one second the area above her upper lips. arrrghh why
And only one side of her nose with the Foreo. She maybe swiped the other side of her nose once or twice.
@@cathwn exactly. They have such a routine in doing things and therefore consequently "forget" certain areas. I always cringe when I see this. Seemingly so "thorough" but actually not arghhh
Her nose is leaning to the other side due to washing only from one side 😅
❤️👏
I'm sorry, but could you please wash the sides of your nose equally? Its a tiny detail, but you are squishing your nose extra because you forgett to wash the other with your foreo while you are talking, and it totally bothers me that only one side of your nose gets proper attention!! ^^
Thank you very much for all the good information, though, please continue sharing! :)
Omg so much rubbing
