This relationship was one sided, the wife needed help while the husband was at home all day following his passion. He was selfish on all terms. I assuming the wife worked long hours, paid all the bills, took care of all the family needs, and hired a maid? How could he not see what she was saying without making the whole situation about him and his passion. He could at least, help her for everything that helped him for the months that he stayed at home. Now she has nothing and he has the maid....

i looked at the title she rarely gets the good guy role and i love it when she does; she's diverse and shouldn't be type cast as the karen, but even them portraying her as a karen in this one was like nope she's 100% in the right. I can understand if someone WANTS to support you and you take them up on that kindness, but having it as an expectation, that's entitled in every way
Belief doesn’t pay the bills. He could have worked on his dream and help His Wife too! He left her, got with the maid, comes back to tell his wife that he’s is successful now and shrugs his shoulders when she tells him that she lost Her Job that used to Support him while they were together. The Trashy man didn’t even offer her a job since he started his own company!

She’s right. Why can’t he do housework, can’t code 24/7. How about working part time to support her. Work to targets, not open ended. And in this field, independent game development an awful lot of good projects fail.

Sometimes, as wives our immaturity and impatience robs us of many blessings. This was a perfect illustration of that. Its sad when we lack the vurtue of giving husbands words of encouragement and support through thick and thin.
I think the husband was selfish and mean. He was putting his wife through hell by making her do all the work. That was not fair. I know how that wife felt. She felt unappreciated and take for granted and used. Then the husband goes off with the maid! I don't think this husband was being mistreated. The wife was mistreated. She was just asking him firmly for help. She was not abusive. And yes, that husband could have offered her a job in his new company but he didn't care even after she lost her job. That husband was wrong to do what he did. He was an ungrateful jerk!

No one was telling the woman to grow up. So why is everyone up in arms if a woman has to be the provider? As long as he’s taking care of all the household chores, I don’t see the problem.
And you’re forgetting that she threatened to hit him. I don’t care how frustrated you are with your partner. Domestic violence, or the threat of it, is inexcusable in a relationship.

What if she's working on project for months & he worked & worked, would he support her? The maid was earning a living & just giving verbal support. I feel the maid is an opportunist. He is not a man enough, to desert his wife who paid the bills and the maid's wages. I feel he's a villian, he's rubber salt in his wife's wound by having an affair with maid when wife struggled to meet the ends.

I was abused by my wife and know the trauma. However. In this story the wife does not appear to be abusive. In fact she has a point. The husband could do a job (at least part time) and work on his ambition. Many successful people did ordinary jobs until they could realise there ambition.

So Judy did all the work to provide him everything and all the resources to work on his game, but Delilah just swoops in and takes all the credit? Forget that guy and Delilah! She didn't help him through anything. She just conveniently showed up at the right time. Judy was justified to demand her husband to work and contribute to the household. He could have developed his game in his free time. He had no sympathy for his wife working long hours to provide for the both of them. She's better off without such a narcissistic, lazy, uncaring husband.

I know that they meant to have the wife as the villain but in this case, the husband was the villain and at the very least he should have tried to help the wife and never got w the maid.

I think they know this doesn't quite make sense, I suspect the 'assault' bit was added later, that adds a second dimension to it and there's no other suggestion of similar. He doesn't say at the end "we split up because you hit me", it's because she didn't buy into the dream. If she was beating him up then fair enough.
I don't think the mistreatment exists and the woman is right, and she's right to be very fed up (though not to hit him)
Independent Game Development is a pipedream, it's like deciding you're going to be a pro sportsman or an actor, or a reality TV star, it's the sort of thing children do "I'm going to be a game designer". The number of such projects that fail is spectacular - way way worse than people who aren't developers think , and many of them are actually really good, they just either duplicate other things, or don't take off for some unknown reason.
Some succeed. Most don't. (I occasionally write them myself, but not to sell, and small things)
Sometimes simple things go viral (Flappy Bird) for no apparent reason. I could write that in a day, literally.
Even allowing for that, the problems are obvious. So he's working on his game project, fine. You can't develop 24/7, I know personally. Why not do the maid's job, why not get a part time job. Why not keep your wife up to date with the status of your work and structure so it doesn't just become an aimless endless drift into a fantasy world. These things tend to suffer from perfection syndrome, you just want to change this, you just want to fix this, and this needs improving, and it never gets out there, or by the time it does its way out of date.
At the end, maybe you might need to work on it solidly for a month and focus on nothing else. Then, maybe, yes.
Open-ended sitting on your backside, because it's your dream ? No.

L8R: It's very specific to this, but actually what happens often now is that games are released in a part working incomplete state (known as "Early Access" often) and improved, extended, changed due to feedback as you go. People buying it pay a much lower price, know they're buying something under construction, and get the improvements for free.
Also, if there is zero interest or everyone hates the idea, then do something else. Outside the big companies it's much rarer to 'finish the game and launch it'
It happens in other things as well, notably Andy Weir's book "The Martian" which because a film.

I only work 25 hours a week and can afford to by splitting rent with 2 other people. I'm using that extra time to study chemistry on my own.

With all the side work that people are able to do online he could in the right City be an Uber driver. Or some food delivery service that's the third party app type situation and be part-time. At the beginning of this episode I thought he was working for a company that makes games. The maid is a suckup. Funny she wants to be kissing his butt when she knows that it's his wife that's paying her not him.

Foolishness! Why does he owe her? Ok, she supported him financially then I guess he should simply pay her back what that cost and move on. Also, he was working on the game for the benefit of both of them. I understand her position but she needs to understand that if she feels he isn’t carrying his weight and she decides to leave or make life unpleasant, she can’t expect him forget all of the doubt and the hurtful things she said. Make a decision to keep quiet and support your man or leave and loose not only what you had but what could/would have been. Support him always or support him never.
