WOW! This take me back to a real life story in Dearborn Michigan, at a Cadillac Dealership, a Black man walked into the Dealerships with an intent to purchase, one salesman approach him and asked can I help you, the man replied yes , I want to purchase a number of Cadillacs, the Salesman ask what do you mean how many? When The Black man told him how many, the Salesman asked him to leave the building, and began to disrespect the man and a loud argument started, out came the Salesman's boss and asked what's going on here, the Salesman said this guy came in here asking to buy 30 Cadillacs we don't have time for games, next the boss turn to the Customer and apologized, then the Black man then introduced himself and told him what his business was and understood why he needed so many vehicles, the man owned a number of Funeral Homes and the man was also quite wealthy, the last I heard after the Boss personally took the man's order and the Salesman was fired out the door.
Notice how the words "Ma'am" or "Sir" are used only to tell someone that they can't go there or do that. They should be taken not as terms of respect but as an insult! However, in the second conversation, the older woman was no less ageist than the younger folks. - Geneva (using Roedy's old account)
Thank you for sharing such an inspiring story of a courageous lady😊
