- The video showcases the latest in aircraft seats, interiors, inflight entertainment and connectivity at Aircraft Interiors Middle East (AIME) 2023. It is where the aviation industry gets together, showcasing the latest products and exploring new bold ideas.
At AIME 2023, I tried out the biggest single-aisle aircraft business class by Stelia. ST Engineering presented the “extendable” lavatory for people of determination. There are lightweight Business Class seats, hard shells, and conventional recliners on display by seat makers AVIO Interiors and GEVEN.
Then I caught up with Alex from Chaise Economy Lounge who has the “double-decker” economy class concept to provide more legroom and more seats with affordable airfares.
Seat interior expert from Perrone explains the latest trend in using leather and synthetic leather as airplane seats.
The following aviation supplier appeared in this video:
Stelia Aerospace
ST Engineering
Avio Interiors
Chaise Economy Lounge
GEVEN
Perrone Aerospace
Scneller

The handicapped restroom is wonderful. I am a nurse and know that many handicapped people wear diapers on flights due to poor accessibility.
He was explaining it and I just kept thinking wtf is the point of this stupid thi--- ohhh wheelchairs, that's awesome
Why do we need an expandable lavatory? Why not make them bigger to begin with? Simple answer is they want to squeeze in as many passengers as possible. This will never happen.
No government will give an ok to a lavatory that expands into the aisle. The aisles need to be clear of obstructions for emergencies.
@@zephyrsky__ no it’s an aisle wheelchair
@@avkay12 custom built biz jet applied this idea few years ago
Wow, what country are you in where people, especially nurses, still refer to disabled or special needs people as handicapped???? Lol, 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
The expandable lavatory is a really good idea in terms of accessibility.
Custom built biz jets, apply this idea for space utilization, to make the floor space more roomier.
I think this expandability can also come handy in RV, motorhome etc. designs provided it can be sealed (in dual use case shower+toilet)
SAM CHUI!!!! You're the best aviation youtuber in the world. You always update us about the aviation or airline's cabins. Keep up the good work 👏👏
Wow Sam! What a great video of what future air travel will look like.👍🏽 The handicap restroom was very impressive. Thanks for sharing. Keep up the good work. 👍🏽😎✈️
I thought the expandable lavatory is neat and thoughtful. Initially the idea of the double decker seems kinda weird, but now it actually does seem kinda cool. 😁
I'd do it if you could lie down in economy
*I AM CLAUSTROPHOBIC. I WILL NEVER FLY THEM!*

There's conventions for just about everything. This was actually very interesting. Like most industries where there is consumer interaction, there has to be a sense of prestige and glamour, yet functionality in the design chosen. No different from choosing materials for the interior of an inexpensive Toyota Corolla to an ultra expensive Rolls Royce. Excellent video.
Great video as always Sam!!! Thank you very informative and always going outside the box.
Seriously cool to see the way the Aviation Industry is constantly innovating and moving forward, quality stuff!
Thanks so much Sam Chui for this lovely video, I really appreciate the new invention to the lavatories and the narrow bodied aircraft bussiness class seats, Sam Chui I will always love thee
Mr. Sam love to see all the time. You are the best. Love it sir.
Your my favourite RUclipsr, your videos are amazing and the reviews are better than most. Keep up the good work
Alex, si lees esto, te deseo lo mejor. Me ha hecho mucha ilusión volver a verte y saber que sigues a la carga. Dale duro!! el que la sigue la consigue!!
Thank you for sharing. It looks very nice.
Thank you for sharing ❤
A indústria ao redor da aviação é muito grande e que está sempre a evoluir.
Awesome show, hi-tech all over. Sam, thanks for sharing.
The doubledecker economy seats are a safety design from hell. There is no way that the airplane would be able to evacuate all of its passengers if a good chunk of them are stuck on the upper deck seats.
I agree. Not a good design in my opinion.
Serving hot foods and hot drinks to upper seat passengers becomes more risky to FA and nearby lower seat passengers. Nobody wants get skin burn by hot food and hot beverage. If accident happened, airlines might have to face compensation case from FA or passengers.
Turbulence is increasing due to climate change. Let’s not have passengers climbing steps during it.
Yeah, in case of emergency all pax need to evacuated within 90 seconds. In this design, it would difficult to attain certification.
Or
all upperdeck seat should have aisle access ( no middle seat in upperdeck) and to accommodate pax density aisle width may be increased.
@@tilllatelomo That's another issue isn't it? They could build a plastic shell for it too but that adds a tremendous amount of weight when compared to a standard economy seat.
The fixed shell with sliding seats should eliminate the aggro between you and the passenger at the front. Win win.
Thanks for your updating information. You 're the top youtuber!!!!
Wow wonderful experience and very good one 👍 😀
I Love The Lavatory.Great Work
Wow the Lavatory is a real good idea and thinking to have more space is wonderful. Congratulation!
U post a nice and informative video... keep up the work!
Wow Anazing.. nice lavatory comfort seat
First time I am learning about you and glad I did. I have subbed! Truly enjoyed your content. I liked the expandable lavatory, really good idea.
Keep showing us great content, Sam
Wow the styles of the seatings is enthusiastic👍🇹🇹
I try the link but its not working
Thanks so much Sam this was mind blowing very good n enlighten up 🤗🤗🤗that good interiors ❤️❤️
Love all the innovation that I see for the narrow body, which is primarily what we get to fly within the US.
Amazing content as always.
Seat width is my #1 issue in economy
Awesome Video
3:02 wow, deja vu, the whole thing started from the top of the segment :)
about these seats that you can get more leg in business class but it’s different to the other ones I’m happy these this is changing a lot a especially in economy class love it so much sam I would like more of this in the future sam❤
Hi Sam, thank you for a very informative video. May I ask you to continue shooting about new interior products!
Very interesting Sam. Thank you.
Awesome airplane vlog .
Very interesting, Sam. Thanks for a good look at an industry insider trade show.
The best tray table in economy class belongs to Singapore Airlines. I flew them a few months ago and it was very good. There’s a cop holder that flips out without having to put the whole tray table down. And they have the best pea snack ever.
This is fascinating .
I love all your videos 🎉
Hi. I'm an amateur avgeek and I enjoyed your video Sam. I found it to be very informative about what the future holds for passenger seating comfort. I'm not sure about the expandable toilet because I would prefer the width rather than the length. The seats being proposed for A321s looked awesome as well as the Italian seats that had 23 inches and elbow room. I wish I could have been there and experience the seats firsthand. Thanks.
My preference is the slide forward, making the recliner compromise their own leg space instead of the passenger’s space behind.
Perfect wow so nice
good job my friend CHUI
Joy of Mr. Sam
Nice vlog 💯🌹👍
Sam, i am your big admire. silverio - Brazil
Great content Sam!
You re the best in your content!!!
Sam IS Aviation’s best ambassador!
Very nice Sam.
First comment, and these aircraft cabins are *really* beautiful, amazing and a lot relaxing too, if flying non-stop... 🌟
u were the 3d comment

Amazing.... from Somalia
9:00 That is a very good idea.
YOUR COOL MAN !!!!!!!!!!
When passion becomes Profession...
Love all your content.....when is 4K60fps coming to your platform? :)
Good 👍
The first way to improve comfort in economy is to remove the reclining function from the seats. No-one actually needs to recline, and there are too many people who are spacially unaware and inconsiderate of the comfort of the passenger behind them.
Nice
Yes. This is more like it. The lufthansa guys need to come over here and refresh their ideas.
@3:00 finally me and my BBW can get into the Mile High Club loll
Good journey..
6:45 bro puled up a just trust me there 🤣🤣
Worderful
Nice🇸🇦
I like the future of these airlines
5:36 the guy who came up with the infamous design
I love airplanes and i want to become a pilot or something like that. Sam Chui is my inspiration.
Wow
That expandable toilet is the greatest contribution to the mile high club since the invention of airplane toilets…
Sam, great video. Very excited about Zephyr seats. When do you think they will come to air lines?
Expandable lavatory is interesting, it is always a narrow corridor outside, even in business class, If there are room to expand into, they would have already made a bigger lavatroy. Also, the more moving part, the more place things can break.
What is the best about „outside of Europe“ shows: they honor the visitors and don’t charge a entry fee!
Live the handicap bathroom!
Two words to describe literally everything going on in that show
*Reverse herringbone*
Interesting
Great developments. Judging from the French and Italian accents companies from these countries do well in aircraft seats.
Good content year 2023 digital interior design aircraft future knowledge to Airways flight ✈️
The toilet is fantastic
Double Decker seating looks good, you got to demostrate how meal delivery work.
quite impressive design in 5:43, but I'm wondering how cabin crew do the beverage and meal service in the cabin.
good
That economy seat seems nice but less overhead space.
Recliner all the way
Sir big fan
Good morning Sam, I could not imagi e the Ryanair's seat
Just hope some of this stuff makes it a lot quieter inside the fuselage
Thanks, Sam.
But if Business Class is getting more room, it has to come from somewhere.
Yes. From all of us poor saps in Economy...
the future of seats is standing up
Ryan Air, is that you? Or is it Spirit? 😅
❤
I like how even the European manufacturers use inches instead of metric.
They need to find a way to replace seat cushions more frequently and make these easy to clean.
Sam I think that the longest 747 flight is from Tokyo to Frankfurt by Lufthansa 😊
Nice video. Those double decker seats are so impractical. Airlines aren’t going to want the risk of being sued by all the passengers who fall getting up or down.
There's always the bulk cargo compartment, they could just stack passengers like logs.
I have no issue with the double decker style of seating. I don't think it would necessarily feel too cramped, especially if it leads to extra leg room. Storage though may be an issue.
Feel like farts would cause issues with this one, for the people seated below.
It may not happen, however, since they want there to be extras/differences for people to buy the buisness class. At least that is what I have read via online articles.
@@nicoledenney6083 budget airlines are probably the first to adopt this type of seat as all their customers fly economy
Said this to someone else, worth repeating: I respect the gumption and hustle but it's an idealistic student project spun out with too much funding that's solving 2 problems by creating 7 more: 1. Same surface area, much more weight for the structure. Airlines lose money. 2. Safety egress issues. 3. Blunt force trauma issues for lower passengers being too close to an immovable part of the front seating structure. 4. Inability of passengers to adopt a brace position in the lower seats. 5. Inability for larger passengers or handicapped passengers to use the seats. 6. Design limits application, drop overhead bins will likely not work and it will only work in center seating. and the most critical miss: 7. Consumer perception. All the engineering rational, proofs and sales pitches don't change what people see when they look at this design, you are eye to asshole with the people in front of you.
In a day and age where economy plus is not much more than economy if recline and legroom are the issue, in an industry where a person with a modicum of experience can easily book a discounted business class seat and a situation where this design will clearly be more expensive than economy plus to implement in a multitude of ways and has amassed so much negative PR, I can see no way where this works. A for effort but F for viability.
@@frankfei9130 There is nothing budget about these seats, they will cost much more to make than standard seats while weighing more and not being at all useable for budget airlines A220s A319/320/321 and 737s.
Sam, please do a scathing review of BA.
I think that the middle seat on the double decker economy would be very challenging or egress mid flight. I think that it makes sense if it's all aisle seats, but I would not want to try to access that middle seat during a flight.
Reminds me of the movie Soul Plane lol
