This one of the best opening tracks ever. Really sets the tone for a killer album.
There’s so much to say about this song. Every part is well written and executed. But the drums are the pinnacle to me. Those ghost notes, the polyrhythms, the power hits on the toms, the absolute perfect synchronized fills, Chamberlain is the secret formula everytime. The ear whether we realize it or not picks up on the subtle things in music. You know when you listen to the smashing pumpkins and you’re trying to explain to people there’s something about their songs that just groove in a certain way and have a feeling that’s hard to explain ? That’s chamberlain.

I really dig the way he plays. The way he sort of sinks back and feels the groove, while sliding his hand around effortlessly. It just _looks_ like as good as a riff as it sounds.

ever been to a slipknot show? if you don't move you're dead inside. I went to see gojira (honestly wasn't a fan of slipknot before the show) and holy shit slipknot put on an amazing show.
I lived at the Metro and Smart Bar in the 90’s, plus Dome Room, Cro Bar, Exit, and a few others...including a great little alternative bar called Club 911 in Joliet (lol really!)
But in the 90’s the music was so insane, entire genres were being made, or built upon, it was THE time for clubbing, regardless of what kind of music was being played there; live bands, DJ’s spinning out industrial, techno, house, hip hop, add “new age” and world music to the mix, plus the love of throwback, it was an absolute kid in a candy store era for music.
Oh yeah, and I saw Pumpkins at the Metro. 🥰
