I'm surprised if it's not defined in rules but it's obvious if there is a break - only the judge should be able to signal continuation of the match. In this instance Alex was the judge and the jury. Yes, Jamahal seemingly continued but you can see in real replay he's on automatic and wheels are still turning in his head. In the back of his mind he is processing what just happened as this is unique situation in the sport, Alex on the other hand is completely observant and catches him just as he sees him processing. It just gave Alex that much of an advantage. UFC released their slow motion video of the best fight moments from the whole event and guess what - they shipped that whole sequence. There's not even a knockout itself there even though it was not only second best highlight of the evening but surely one of the years best. That's no coincidence.
With the glove controversy, it should be noted that in the main event of the card Oezdemir was in, Robert Whittaker - whose previous finish was back in 2017 - got a round 1 knockout with the new gloves as well. I personally think that was the fight that REALLY shut people up.
They should give the champ gloves with a gold band and letters, and the challenger should have some with a silver band and letters. Do the gold and silver corner instead of red and blue.

I was in the audience for the Tafa fight and a thing you might not realize until you’re there is you can’t really hear anything that is happening in the ring. As far as the crowd was concerned the ref just stopped it without a tap coz you can’t hear the scream.

The new gloves aren't a "controversy". They are obviously trash and very clearly have an effect on fights. This channel goes further into defending the UFC every year.
i always thought the complaining about the gloves was stupid, boxing gloves are big and they knock people out+how would smaller gloves be a problem?i just think it was a coincidence that less knockouts were happening, the only issue with the new gloves are the multiple colors, all of them should be black,the non-black gloves are just ugly

When I watched it live I thought the same thing because I wanted Ortiz to win but as I’ve gotten older I tend to feel it was a fair shot, they hugged as a sign to say all good and it should be protect yourself at all times, also Ortiz was cheapshotting the whole fight😊
