Fuck an don’t take idiotic comments just because it’s been a while. We did learn a lot about Conor coming out that night; we learned that he was still a great fighter but we knew that cowboy was on his way out. He wasn’t able to keep up because of reaction time and shit.
Honorable mention for both Francis Ngannou and Derrick Lewis against one another.
I can forgive Lewis and Ngannou. They were telepathically communicating which chicken joint they'd go to after the fight.

Yeah no. You don't hold the shorts to get leverage for that strike. He had his arm over hooked and across his waist and then grabbed the shorts and pushed him off after he already hit him. He already had hit him 3 or 4 times before he even grabbed the shorts. It made no difference to his strikes.
The leverage for that strike comes from over hooking the arm and then lunging his shoulder and jumping, not the shorts.

@@FunkyFlunky2332 Cerrone didn't quit. His nose was broken and his orbital was smashed in the first 15 seconds of the fight. That set up a head kick that he didn't see and it took him out. If you've watched Cerrone's fights, he is not the type to quit. He just got screwed up really quick and a domino effect happened. He was dwarfed by the moment but that wasn't the cause of him losing. It was him getting his nose broken and the orbital smash in the first 15 seconds.

Wild that Sean reached out and asked Alex to coach him and tighten up his game and now he’s champion. There was no doubt in my mind that Izzy could lose, but as the first round was coming to an end seeing Izzy get absolutely DROPPED was insane. We’ve hardly ever seen him hurt let alone get rocked and go down. Only times that come to mind was the TKO to Poatan and his fight against Kelvin where he got rocked a few times. Although a huge part is because he started fighting a lot safer. Regardless though, whether you like him or you hate him, you gotta respect an active champion. Plus before he even thought of moving up or down, he cleared his division. Now everybody wins the title, only has 1 or 2 defenses and wants to go for a second title

The Nunes-Pena 1 fight was so weird. Pena was good enough that if Nunes wasn't trying 100% then she could overcome here. Nunes wanted to play with her food instead of getting the job done and that was enough for Pena to take over.
Im pretty sure nunes was still recovering in that first fight. Once she had actually recovered for real the universe was back to its proper order

Stephen A is the biggest poseur in sports. A few years ago, he was talking about a matchup between the Chargers and Chiefs, and he was saying how he was looking forward to seeing Spencer Ware play (out with a foot injury), talking about the incredible season Chargers TE Hunter Henry was having (has not played all year yet) and the matchup with Derrick Johnson (who was cut by the Chiefs earlier). The look on Tedy Bruschi's face was priceless.
If any of these guys were good at predicting sports they wouldn't have careers. Like, imagine going out there and saying so-and-so has a 55% change of winning but you're not too sure. No one would watch

Conor V Cerrone was exactly what the UFC intended for it to be, a squash match. Cowboy was shot by that point and was getting TKO’d in every other fight. He was one of the most chinnable fighters in the division at that point, nowhere near his prime, so the UFC fed him to Conor cause he still had name value and was very beatable. That fight meant nothing and proved nothing

That was a super easy stylistic match up for Max. A worse boxer than he is who is willing to take damage to give it with out making adjustments, that's why Max ko'd guys like Aldo and Zombie and he struggles against Volk

There is something about fight sports were a 1 off bad performance is much more justifiable than in other sports. In a fight sport, you get hit hard in the beggining of the fight and you won't be yourself for the rest of hte fight.

One of the dudes kept running away and refusing to engage to the point where the other guy just wrapped an arm around his head and stuck his other arm through and walked around the cage like an elephant. Nunes vs Peña is definitely #1. She looked like she could go another 3 rounds in the rematch but was GASSED by the second round here. Yes she was sick and injured. Yes it was a fluke. but she still took the fight, underestimated Peña, and lost terribly. Lost a lot of money that day 😂
