The A-Team is an American action-adventure television series, running from 1983 to 1987, about a fictitious former United States Army Special Forces unit who, after being court-martialed "for a crime they didn't commit", escape from military prison and, while still on the run, work as soldiers of fortune. A feature film based on the series was released by 20th Century Fox in June 2010.
The A-Team revolves around the four members of a former commando outfit, now mercenaries. Their leader is Lieutenant Colonel/Colonel John "Hannibal" Smith (George Peppard), whose plans tend to be unorthodox but effective. Lieutenant Templeton Peck (Dirk Benedict; Tim Dunigan appeared as Templeton Peck in the pilot), usually called "Face" or "Faceman", is a smooth-talking con man who serves as the team's appropriator of vehicles and other useful items, as well as the team's second-in-command.
The team's pilot is Captain H.M. "Howling Mad" Murdock (Dwight Schultz), who has been declared insane and lives in a Veterans' Administration mental institution for the show's first four seasons. Finally, there is the team's strong man, mechanic and Sergeant First Class Bosco Albert "B.A.", or "Bad Attitude", Baracus (Mr. T).
The four Vietnam vets, framed for a crime they didn't commit, help the innocent while on the run from the military.
Real stunts done with real cars, helicopters and explosives. The A Team is one of the best action shows of all time.

I love it when my childhood comes together. The A Team was one my favorite shows as a kid. I used to watch it every afternoon when I come home. The best moments I used to rush all the way home. Those were the days and simple times.
The 80s is loaded with great series and themes it's incredible.

Am I the only one growing up where this show made you use your imagination and heard this theme song playing in the background in their head? I still sometimes hear it when I am trying to overcome or fix something. Glad I was part of this generation of great action shows.
The A-Team single handedly blew away ABC's Tuesday night sitcom dominance on Tuesday nights and catapulted NBC with an instant hit in the 80s. Mr. T was a walking superhero. A fantastic show!

Season 2 (1983-84) or later. For season 1 (early 1983), the opening title narration went:

I miss this show had to watch it every week 😪
So camp yet so full of action.
I love how on the A -Team in fight scenes they would always show the guys flying through the air to tackle someone. Or their makeshift weapons they would make out of whatever. Or the fact that they had guns and machine guns and nobody ever got hit once. Great show. I like seasons 2,3,4 the best. Season 1 was a little different. The show was still trying to develop the characters. Season 5 they tinkered with the music intro and formula too much and it didn't work...except for the first episode where they get caught. Adding Frank Santana as a character didn't work either.
It seemed like every episode they would find themselves trapped in a garage or factory that was conveniently stocked with all the tools they would need to put together some outlandish weapon with which to defeat the bad guys. They would always assemble the weapon in a 2-3 minute musical montage, and it got sillier as the series progressed. In one episode they actually made a compressed air cannon that fired heads of cabbage.
RIP George Peppard and Stephen J. Cannell.

I loved the episode where they busted the corrupt prison warden. "Hey, you ain't a mute no more!" "And you ain't a warden no more, either!" And the episode where they met Boy George. My dad, of course, couldn't stand Boy George. And there'd been a lot of talk on the TV shows of the time about how if Mr. T ever met George, he'd beat him up. So when B.A. Baracus shook George's hand and told him he was a big fan, I laughed like a hyena. My dad's look of disgust was the icing on the cake. Still smile and chuckle whenever I think of that TV moment. There'll never be another show like The A-Team. Never.
Good story!😁 I liked the one where they helped get a girl out of a forced marriage by having Murdock take her place, wearing her wedding dress. Prior to that, he ate a little shaving cream off the decoy cake they used to sneak in as caterers, so he was coughing the whole time he's walking into the wedding. Then of course, the team busted him out after he revealed himself to the bad guy groom. The sight of him hiking up the dress, racing down the sidewalk and screaming like a little girl, was unforgettable!😂
The best part of the prison warden episode was, in my opinion....
"TR-ASH BAGS! I WANT TR-ASH BAGS! I WANT 'EM, I WANT 'EM!!!"

Yes Yes Yes 1982- 83 this was a time when i was a kid and shows like this is what kelp me in the house glued to the tv especially shows like the A-Team, Dukes Of Hazzard, And Knight Rider lol🤗🤗🤗
My dad used to crank the TV volume all the way up for the machine gun sounds during the title screen part 😎
That second part of the theme music with the light guitar riffs, sounds a lot like "Me Against The World" from Lizzy Borden.
Only on shows like The A-Team can the final conflict of the episode be fought with 2000+ rounds being fired and not a single person get shot and when they finally run out of bullets the A-Team uses their muscle and breaks out the 55 gallon drum of whoop-ass to subdue the bad guys! I love it when RUclips helps a plan make a comeback for the good ol' shows even the goofy as ones like The A-Team, gosh I sometimes miss the 80's lol!!
Dirk Benedict (Templeton Peck) played Gil Foley in the short lived ABC-TV show Chopper One in 1974.
1:10 The Cyclops walking past was paying homage to Dirk who starred in Battlestar Galactica (hence the hand gesture as if he recalled something)
"Cylon"... and I loved it when they added that in the new opening credits.

I remember the broadcast of the bouncer competition that was MR Ts first appearance on TV.
He yanked the bell right off the wall at the end as he dove through the finish line.

I think Face was the first time pre-adolescent me thought boys might be interesting rather than annoying.

I remember how cool vans were in the '70s. People had airbrushed graphics on the outside and shag carpeting inside. Some even put waterbeds in them. If you had one nowadays, plenty of folks would think you were some kind of creepy stalker molester whether you were or not. I guess times have changed.

I remember this series in the 80 I was younger in the television off Algeria I likit match
A-Team, Rockford Files, Hunter, Greatest American Hero, Hardcastle and McCormick, Riptide, 21 Jump Street, Booker, Renegade, Street Justice, Jake and the Fat Man, Silk Stalkings, Riptide etc. Stephen J. Cannell got it going on. I grew up loving his shows. RIP SJC.

Love it. Just had a run through A Team, Airwolf, Knightrider, Fall Guy and Dukes of Hazzard themes. Street Hawk next although it was a level below. And Blue Thunder wouldn't have lasted against Airwolf
