Dropped my S22 Ultra the other day and that was the drop finally that deemed the phone smoked. Just got my Fold 6 1TB the other day and i think I'm a foldable phone guy from here on out
Switched from iPhone to zfold 3 several years ago, upgraded to the zfold 4 since then. The zfold is so much better than the iPhone, it was a similar feeling as going from blackberry to the iPhone 15 years ago. The battery life and screen crease in the zfold haven't caused any complaints or issues for me. The size of the zfold screen is an absolute game changer. One note that no one mentions when they review the zfold is that, when folded, it is far smaller and more compact than an iPhone. It fits in your pocket so much better, and then you can fold the phone out and it's the size of a small tablet. Unless iPhone moves into a foldable phone too, I could never switch back into an iPhone as they feel dated and aged compared to a zfold.
I also appreciate the size of the 6 and symmetrical front. Most other folds have this awkward hinge side with weird corners/bezels that i can't unsee - it looks out of proportion. I upgraded from the 5 due to a good trade-in deal and found this to be a polished upgrade. It just feels different. In front, it's like having an iPhone mini that converts into a mini tablet.
I have this phone but my sim is staying in the OnePlus Open. This is an occasional weekend phone for me. I agree with you on the fold being a great device, but the battery life, charging speeds and the camera are enough of a deal breaker in terms of daily driving it all the time. To anyone reading this? It is a great device and if you like it? Awesome. Myself personally? Kinda feels like Samsung is twiddling its thumbs and watching the competition blaze ahead instead of being the foldable zeitgeist it once was.
I think i know why I'm still on my fold 4...i realized folds might not be for me.. the mirroring of screens i never use because i want my outsider screen to look just like my inside for consistency seamless transition, i never fold my phone and prop it up to watch RUclips the smaller screen is not very good like that and the main big screen when watching RUclips has big black bars which ultimately gives you a normal phone sideways...so I'm forced to zoom in to get the "full screen " experience, i purchased a fold pen...never used it lol and u have to put it somewhere and not lose it what i do like is rhe multi tasting i find myself many times having 3 apps open at the same time. But perhaps for these reasons i have held off on upgrading.. also they really don't look very much different from the 4 to 5 to 6.
I would say if you're coming from zfold 4 or Newer, don't upgrade, and most people who have a zfold 3 even I wouldn't suggest upgrading unless the trade in deals r great as they where during pre order, but I would say it's a good upgrade from the zfold 3, the zfold 2 to 3 was the biggest upgrade and while zfold 3 to 4 seemed incremental but when compared to zfold 6 the difference from zfold 4 to zfold 6 seems such smaller than zfold 3 to 4, you gained better camera which was higher mp and you gained an addition 3× telephoto, the outer display for the first time got slightly wider and once again it slightly got wider but I still want it to be a bit more wider, but from the zfold 3 to zfold 6 cover display is a day and night difference, camera and more efficient processor. But to be honest I don't know if I would call it a necessary upgrade because you get all the galaxy AI on it, and still same old no spen inside the phone the same old 4400mAh battery still, if your coming from the zfold 2 definitely upgrade. Samsung narrow outer display is the biggest issue. Wider outer display would solve so much problem, would give us more room for a wider battery and an 8" inner display, would give it more room to include the spen, would shave off thickness if you increase the width of the device and would give it more room to fit a parascope lens. The removable of narrow display and making it a traditional candy bar smartphone solves all these shirt coming. Zfold would become perfect if they hopefully finally get rid of the super narrow outer display. Hopefully, the zfold 7 will gain a 6.5" outer display with an 18:9 aspect ratio I beg samsung please, which unfolds into 8.3" display, larger than 5000mAh battery, 65W fast charging please I beg you Sammy which I know won't happen atleast give us s24 ultra camera instead of the s25/+ or the same camera sensor as zfold 4, integrated spen with spen support on cover display, ip68 please while not rising the price that too us is an $1899 phone at this price there should be no sacrifices, I would say because of the compromises it has it shall cost as much as the s24 ultra.
Ugh this is defiantly a hard decision! I have been rocking a 12 Pro max for 4 years now and I have been desperately wanting a Folding Phone. AT&T is offering to give me $700 for my phone and UGH It’s so hard if I wanna switch. That inner camera leaves something to be desires and I’m nervous about inner screen reliability over the years.
I think you'll love it, plus fildables are not so fragile anymore. I have friends still rocking the Fold 4 like it's brand new, plus you can always use the other front facing camera 😊
Honestly, if you're not tied down by the Apple ecosystem, I'd do it. The Fold 6 is such a technological improvement over any iphone in my opinion. Really, any Samsung phone is better than the iPhone and this is coming from someone who has been using iPhone since the original iPhone. A lot of Fold 6 reviews compares it to either the previous fold or another folding device or the S24 Ultra, which isn't fair if you're deciding between an iPhone and a Fold 6.
Great honest review ! In my opinion, the only things missing from the Fold 6 to be perfect, are 3 things from S24 Ultra : battery capacity, charge speed, periscope len ! I believe the high price tag is due to getting 2 samsung flagship devices at once : one mobile phone & one tablet :)

I get all the gripes in the reviews, but honestly, I'm just ready to try something new. Had every note since the first, great cams, great tech.. but just ready for something new. Yea the fold 6 cam isn't 200 mega pixels, but it still takes good pics for social media and regular use. Not really Interested in passing on the fold 6 and going from the s23 ultra to the 24 ultra just for better cam and same old stuff, plus AI...my fold 6 will be here next week and I'm excited
I enjoyed this review. I've had the 24 ultra,15 pro max, and the z fold 6. Traded in my 15 pro max in and couldn't be happier. I like the slimmer cover screen since it's easier to hold in 1 hand and its still wide enough for me to type on.
I’m trying to wrap my mind on how you integrate an Apple Watch while using the fold as an every day carry. Did you set up the Apple Watch with your iPhone and then use the watch for basic features?
The pink is super pretty but the price tag just makes it too much to use as a daily phone 😭😭 The fold 4 which is like $830usd now where I’m from seems much more doable but then not sure how I’d feel like using a phone two years old as my main phone
If you are not in a rush I’d suggest waiting a few months for the 6 to drop in price or grab a holiday offer simply because of the 7 year software support
I love the deadpixel camera, the weird separation line inbetween the two screens where it folds, and the demonic pair of spider eyes camera design, very good design
Agree totally about the form factor. I love the size when folded, it's perfect for one-handed use. Once you get used to it, it works just fine for typing. The S24U was way too wide and bulky for me. Traded it in for my Fold 6. Typing on the cover screen now and no issues. I got Crafted Black, it's slick AF.❤
For me, the no built in s-pen and the fact you can't run dex on the inner display are 2 major Ls. My Galaxy Tab s8+ is my most used device for work, productivity, creativity, and even writing, and the included S pen and DEX Mode is one big reason I love it. Huge missed opportunity by Samsung.
Z Fold is supposed to be a top tier phone over S series but unfortunately samsung doesnt really care. they had a great opportunity to increase the main display close to s24 ultra, add at least same camera features as its cousin and of course the S pen but No! im out until samsung wakes up,i definitely will go for S24Ultra any day.
I just got my Z Fold 6 today. What a timely video! Glad to watch your well produced videos and agree with most of what you said. My heart lies with the Fold now. The S24 Ultra goes to the drawer and iPhone is relegated to a secondary.
The external screen of the Fold 6 is wider than that of the iPhones Mini, and narrower than that of the iPhone 11 Pro by 3mm, and for some people, is actually perfect (not for me), except that, the internal screen of a Fold is not 100% safe and you are not immune to unpleasant surprises. The advantage of Folds like the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4, Honor Magic V3, OnePlus Open, Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, is that in case of accidents with the internal screen, you have a completely and normally usable smartphone. In fact, I think Samsung should keep the format of the Fold 6, and release a Fold "Ultra" with the form factor of the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, with 2cm more in height (to have a rectangular internal screen and not a square one), with 5000-5500mAh battery🔋capacity, better camera sensor, and integrated Spen. Meanwhile, for the moment, my Galaxy S Ultra + Tab S standard combo is perfect for me. 🙏🏽
If you want the latest tech and a terrible feeling in the hand, go ultra. People don’t buy the fold for good cameras or long batteries, we buy it for the experience and large screen when opened. I agree it needed the sPen since Samsung pushes the drawing ai so hard, but all that stuff reviewers keep talking about is not why we pick this phone.
Feels more like apple sponsored. Apple mac book for 1899 dollar is a rip off too. You can get 3 laptops with same specs in same price. Fold 6 has 2 screens.

Battery died within 3-4 months and turned slow, now have to replace thermal paste every 6 months , Macbook still going on with almost same battery life, just a little bit heating issue. I would have ditched using laptops if i were not a developer so my work demands.
This is the first fold 6 that came up on my search and first time watching this channel. I find that this channel tried to sugar coat some of the cons of the fold 6 and never flat out calls anything on it bad ... the dude still loves it even thought it's just a mediocre device. If you can't find another word for something that's worse than mediocre, how about a couple words, under achiever. That's exactly what this phone is if it's worse than mediocre. I liked your review. S24U user that did have Folds before. Still processing to see if I really want to sacrifice certain things.
It wasn't easy, but I don't regret keeping the Fold. I think the camera is the biggest gripe for me (only if you've used the Ultra or course)

The Spigen Ultra Hybrid Pro case is a perfect fit with the spigen screen protector plus it cover the hinge as well

I find that this channel tried to sugar coat some of the cons of the fold 6 and never flat out calls anything on it bad ... the dude still loves it even thought it's just a mediocre device. If you can't find another word for something that's worse than mediocre, how about a couple words, under achiever. That's exactly what this phone is if it's worse than mediocre. Lol .a usd$1900 under achiever.
Dear Dude, I didn't hold back or sugarcoat anything, I just said what was on my mind. There's a lot of stuff out there that ain't great, but people still like it. I guess it's just hard for you to get that.
