  • BOSTON LOBSTER 🦞 Beach Cook Out - Catch Clean Cook | Gale Force Twins EP. 3 🏝
After two full days of bluefin tuna fishing off the New England coast we switched gears and decided to go lobstering for some Boston lobster (aka Maine Lobster or New England Lobster) 🦞 Our traps caught skates, spider crabs and of course “keepah lobstah” which then had to be measured, banded and kept alive till we were back at the dock 🦀 We then rebaited the traps and sent them back down to the ocean floor for the next charter! Once back at the dock we walked a block over to the beach and with nothing but a pot of sea water and tank of propane Capt John steamed our lobsters whole and fresh. The shellfish was so fresh and delicious it did not need an ounce of seasoning 👨‍🍳 Capt John taught us how to open up the lobsters and eat every last piece of meat. This excursion in Boston was truly one I’ll never forget!

Homarus americanus. The American Lobster. Same species. Maine tried to get ownership of the ubiquitously accepted name “Maine Lobster” and would have required that lobsters so named MUST come from Maine waters. Nice try Mainiacs!😊

Watching Florida keys weather and so far looks good for your trip. Lobstering is hard work and if you don't like the cold get a desk job. If you like sandy beaches montauk and the Hamptons rated #2 in us. Not just for the rich and famous but just fixed ac in 25 million dollar shack.

Had a cook out on the beach in Maine, kind of cool eating lobster and watching the fog roll in. They told me in Nova Scotia how to catch lobster. Get women's panty hose and put salmon cat food it and hang it over the side. Lobsters come to the cat food and get their legs caught up in the hose.

Happy to see you enjoying our cold water lobster, here in Shediac NB Canada we have the same species. If it’s okay to post here is a link to a interpretive cruise in our area,
    shediacbaycruises.ca/lobstertales/
Following your theme, a story. Lobster is now considered a delicacy but in years past the effluent family’s kids had PPJ sandwiches for lunches at school and the poorer kids lobster. In those days whole lobsters where also used for fertilizer. Today however the shells are collected from the processing plants, dried, pulverized and used as fertilizer.
Enjoy your video’s, next time steaming your lobsters, removing the bands first is our way eh!
