- We go on a commercial lobster boat to pull traps for American Lobster! We catch hundreds, but could only keep about 80 that were of legal size and didn't have eggs. We get a little glimpse of the work that goes into catching these lobsters that make it into restaurants and stores! American lobsters (Maine lobsters) have large claws, we used the meat from the claws to make Bang Bang Lobster rolls! They were delicious!! We were in the Cape Cod Bay in Massachusetts!

Great video Brook! As someone who has cooked and shelled at least a 1,000 lobsters in my life, the yield off those 10 lobsters seemed less than adequate. And you never wash lobster in water, EVER. But I love the idea of the Thai chili sauce.

I added some to a sea food boil for my inlaws store bought not fresh unfortunately but it was amazing mixed with clams, shrimp, sausage, potatoes,corn, crabs and seasonings 🤤

When I lived in New Mexico, one of the Fed Ex drivers had a deal with drivers in Maine. They would fly fresh lobsters in to Roswell! The Price was great and it was very fresh! One night he had one left and I bought him a beer if he gave me the last one because it only had one claw! It was great!
Another excellent video. I can't get Stone Crab in the Tidewater, Virginia area without getting the claws shipped from Florida, but both of my true seafood markets frequently have Jonah Crab. I also can't get whole Spiny Lobster but can get steamed whole Atlantic (Maine, American) Lobster. I love these videos showing different "regular" fishing and far better than the "quirky" ones, but that's just my preference.
I have a lot of respect for small boat commercial fishing like these gentlemen. One of my best friends is a charter boat captain specializing in the lower Chesapeake Bay and holds a commercial license and I see the crab fishermen frequently. They hold a great tradition that is the Chesapeake Bay lifestyle.

I'm living in Eastham Mass and I work out of Sesuit Harbor in East Dennis for a private boat club. I buy my lobster directly from a lobsterman right in the harbor. Nice to see you guys getting up this way to the cape!
