The way he filleted that halibut like it was a piece of cake! lol Loving the Alaska vids!! Can’t wait to see watch more! You and Vik do an awesome job!! 🤩
A new fan! Went to Alaska (Homer) in 1994. We just fished for Halibut My biggest was 60 pounds caught in 30 feet of Great memories. Now I fish vicariously through channels like yours. Thank you.
Great fish to fill the freezer. Not much sport in catching Halibut but they provide alot of food to eat. The Salmon are fun to catch on the J hook. Set and reel baby reel!!!
See that Coast Guard Cutter in the background at the beginning of the video? Back in the 80’s I used to service the old cutter that used to be docked there! Great job Brook! Fishing, filming editing, catching bigger fish than Vic 👍🏼😉 That “Hickory Shampoo” calmed that halibut right down, it really relaxes them.
It is very interesting to watch your fishing experiences and the ways you cook them. Although we do not have such facilities here in the heart of Germany, we could try some of your recipes and found them very delicious. Thanks for you both and have many more such happy days to come! Thanks again for your contributions!
You are a true FISHERWOMAN... Very nice video that is incredible that you shipped all your fish home and the way you prepared it you killed it... just amazing
Ang sarap mangawil diyan sa inyo... Wala katulad niyan d2 sa Pilipinas... Mangangawil din ako,,, kaya nararamdaman ko din ang saya na nararamdaman ninyo!!! Salamat sa video ninyo!!!
I’m a first timer with watching you, and let me just say I absolutely enjoy watching you with ur dad, I’m 100% a daddy’s girl I literally love going scuba diving with my parents but fishing I would love to do as a family looks so fun thank you for Sharing
What a great trip you guys had, We just watched Vic's utube, We have always dreamed of Halibut fishing, And it's like we have, just by watching you two fish and the enjoyment that you have. always stay close together, And trust and respect each other.
thanks for the videos I love it, say hello to Victor and your family, sorry for what I am going to mention now how much I miss the videos of my grandmother preparing the sauce for the blue crab my name is Gregorio Garcia from New Haven CT
I love watching your videos and thank you for sharing them. You are such a nice person Brook and I wish I am one of your neighbor so I get some of your good stuff that you are giving away. Looking forward to see more of your videos. Take care.
That's amazing for a first time fishing trip! I've been watching both your and Vic's channels for a while now. This makes me really excited for my first time saltwater fishing!
It has been my observation that you mostly fry or boil your freshly caught fish - and practically always fillet and skin them. Try the following alternative prep and cooking methods: leave the skin on the side of a fillet or only gut and rinse smaller fish (less than 24" long and 4" thick). Then bake the fish in the oven or on the BBQ. You may find the fish much tastier than if fried or boiled. The skin retains the juice of the cooked meat and the bones adds taste also. Fillet frying on both sides or boiling deprives and dilute the fish meat tasty juice. From a Dane that grew up on a variety of Baltic fish food 3-4 times a week.
I’ll be honest. I made a halibut cheek (from Nova Scotia) pasta dish tonight that had a cheek twice that fish. I couldn’t believe it. OMG, still so tender
Here in Canada we have some nice fish 'n chip shops and they mostly feature 3 types of fish. Halibut is the most expensive followed by Haddock then cod, here on the coast and featured for all-you-can-eat meals. It's in small strips and delicious. :-)
