You are a very lucky big fisherman Congratulations you have caught beautiful fish.👍😊 God bless always and good fishing!
You guys are absolutely darling! I love your enthusiasm, your appreciation of life, and the way your whole family appreciates you and the fish and the food and life. Epic role models! ❤
Great video Brook! My cousin & I fished off BC a few years back and his lingcod and a fresh 12” fish in his belly. It was so cool. And yes, we threw it away. Lol. Wow. That was at least 10 lbs in the belly
Great series yinz did ! About the cheese on fish....I've never heard of putting cheese on fish till 3 yrs ago, and I'm 56. I live in pgh, PA, not some small town, we're pretty diverse...when growing up we only put cheese on hamburgers, meetball subs and pasta....cheese on a hot dog was a special occasion.....actually, we used velveta cheese for trout bait.....that was way before powerbait came around.. I've tried grated parm on fish, it's kinda ok... I bet your mom and dad didn't grow up putting cheese on fish...not trying to start an argument, just explaining my perpective...Love yinz!

The last time I fished out of Seward, we stopped for Black Rockfish, after a couple minutes there was a whole school on the surface taking the herring the second it hit the water. The sea looked as if it was boiling. They are ravenous creatures. A sight to behold... and, I also took a lingcod soon after, reeling a rockfish up slowly from the bottom. The lingcod was never hooked. They grab the rockfish, and like a Pit Bull, latch on and won't let go, even when they reach the surface. Netted both and the good captain brained the lingcod with a bat and it promptly regurgitated a partially digested pink salmon.
Really enjoy watching your content. I'm purchasing a travel trailer tomorrow. I want to start a channel since I'll be traveling and have some nice scenic content.
My mouth waters every time you do your cooking segment! Some people put cheddar cheese on fish, I'm not crazy about that. But parmesan or maybe some other white cheese I think is ok. But then again, maybe some sharp cheese would be a nice contrast with a mellow tasting fish? Have you tried that?
Unwanted tip, If you ever run low on recipes, pan fry ling cod in butter and blackened seasoning. I personally love it. Can't eat as much as I'd like, my wife loves it too! Lol
I think a hard grated cheese like parmesan or romano is absolutely ok. It helps form a crust and keeps the fish moist. Softer cheeses might be a little more questionable, but hey... you be YOU! I'll try anything. :-)
Aloha, have you ever tried hassleback potatoes done au gratin style? Same cut, but in a casserole dish with seasoned reduced cream about half way up. Combo of crispy and creamy. Good winter dish.
@@JoseDiaz-yl9sh You as most posting have no clue about Alaska! Summer is awesome ,all the daylight, clean air, etc... you as most totally clueless how it is here in Alaska. Simple!

Hi Brook , I did send a e mail to Off the docks. Would like to hear from you on it. I would go third week in July by my self they said to get a motel but many of the Airbnb or the same price. I said I would do the muti species trip how many hours do they fish. Any does and don’t s ? Thank you
I had to laugh when he said the Ling filet was "like a Grouper" uuumm a filet off a 50 pound Grouper is huge. The yield is not similar in my opinion but damn those Ling are tasty!!!! Your fish was ten pounds bigger than any i have caught. The "Zuke pasta" is really good!!! Try it with Pesto its awesome
@@FISHGEEK007 I have lived up here the past 40 years, including Seward where this vid was taken! Outside of Seward, an area by montage island has the largest lingcod on record anywhere! @@brookcristoutdoors I saw your wonderful haul of fish but fresh crab in lieu of some of it would've been nice. It beats the hell out of snow crab. :-)
How come you didn’t partially cooked the cod want it out of the oven then put your cheese on there so it melts and finishing cooking the fish instead of putting those cheese on there in the area that cheese is on it’s not gonna get cooked because the cheese is melted on the fish partially cook the cod bring it out before it’s done then put the cheese on or pre-warm it again and that would melt the cheese on the cot! Just an idea.
Couple tips... first...you folks should have blead your fish...you will not get that blood in the flesh...and clean the fish before fileting... Secondly...should ice those fish...the flesh won't be chalked or that milky color...often happens when improper care...Non ice or when fish warms up .... Also 'take your time fileting...hacking away while fileting leaves waste...finally.. the jowels or collers...probably 5 lbs of meat there...wasted... don't take this too hard... but...if you want to impress guests...try to take better care of these amazing tasting bottom fish.... cheers
